Vodafone Portugal texted their customers, including me, explaining there would be no extra data charges after the storms effecting Leiria knocked out the internet. However when my bill finally arrived... See more

My internet service drops our 20 plus times a day. It’s embarrassing. Lisbon a tech hub? - what a joke.
I had 2 routers, one hadn't worked since May. Eventually Vodafone picked that one up. But of course they still charge me for 2. Hours on the phone with them to no avail. The customer service is non existent, it is abysmal. It is astonishingly bad. Do not ever do business with this company. If you work for this company, quit. You should be ashamed.
This company, Vodafone Portugal, has promised and offered me a home service of Wi-Fi, phone and TV. At the time of the sale, they guaranteed that I would have in my home a very fast Wi-Fi (1000/500mb) as I work from home I needed fast Wi-Fi otherwise it compromises and affects my work performance negatively. Since they installed this service in my home, the Wi-Fi has never reached a higher speed than 30/20mb. I have been calling them every day since asking politely to sort out this issue or give me my money back as I am paying almost 100€ for a 1000/500mb WI-FI speed and they cannot provide it. I even requested to cancel this service as I cannot be paying for a service they cannot deliver. Their customer service is terrible, they are always telling me that there’s nothing that they can do and that they are not responsible for ensuring the WI-FI speed completely the opposite of what’s been said to me at the time of sale. They are charging me 1000€ to cancel a service they were never able to deliver or will deliver. When I call call to their technical support they are extremely rude they even hang up the phone calls whilst I am talking and they never call back or apologise. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THEIR SERVICES. I HAVE BEEN ROBBED AND THEY OPERATE AND CONDUCT A CRIMINAL BUSINESS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF HARD-WORKING PEOPLE. THEIR BUSINESS SHOULD BE BANNED!
If you are trying to decide which phone service to go with in Portugal, do not use Vodafone. Terrible customer service. Like, the phone lines are not in service. Way too expensive and with many hidden costs (like hidden subscriptions that are in addition to your monthly fee). They also do not honor the terms of the contract you sign (in my case, I was offered Amazon Prime with my subscription, but have spent the last year trying to connect to Amazon Prime. Impossible to achieve because their customer service is so poor). I sincerely regret going with Vodafone.
Absolutely the worst customer service of any company I have ever experienced. None of the numbers they provided were in service. I actually got a rep on the line at one point and he gave me a 5 digit number to top up my card and it was not in service either. I finally stumbled across a third party service called ding through which I was able to top up (for a 25% fee) but at least I had extended service. Then, three days after my service would have ended I got a text from vfpt with link to their in house top up app. Great timing. Previously had very good experience with EE in the UK. Going forward I will plan to fly through the UK so I can use EE and AVOID vodaphone at all costs.
Vodafone employees are thieves. They promise you over the phone that they won't charge you an installation fee for the third time that you are renewing your contract with them and what do you see on your next bill ? A 50 euro bill for a fictitious installation but since we don't have a choice to use another company, they take advantage of us. I will never trust them again.
NASTY company ... really shame on you ! If you decide to leave them make sure you save a FORMAL RECEIPT for the equipment returned as they have a notorious hoax to come after you charging 300eu for the equipment you did return.
Terrible service. I signed up for Vodafone on the understanding that they have the best network coverage.
I get home and find that I have no signal and can't make or receive calls. Vodafone refuse to let me out of my contract and want 100's of euros penalty.
Go with literally any other operator.
Vodafone Portugal is the worst company. Absolutely awful. I tried cancelling my contract after 4 years (so well after their 24 month no-cancellation period), and at the store I had to send in a letter (??). They then said they would call me to cancel (why can't they cancel an account in the store - likely because they want to try and upsell you something). They make it so difficult to cancel an account, which should be illegal.
They kept on calling and the call person could only speak Portuguese, after telling them plenty of times to please call in English. She did understand me enough to say cancel my account. But apparently they didn't cancel my account, just sent me the next bill. After I sent in a complaint, they cancelled the account, however 2 months later they send me a 300 euro bill for the router I didn't send back, even though they didn't ask me to do anything with it. I organised for them to pick it up, which they did, and 3 weeks after sent me a legal action notification to pay the 300 euro bill even after their own team picked it up. The whole experience with Vodafone has been absolute shocking. I will never ever sign up with them again.
They 100% rely on you to get so frustrated that you give up, and they make money on them sending you more bills, and confirmed by reading other peoples experience here. I never leave reviews but I'm hoping those considering Vodafone Portugal will so elsewhere.
Theft of funds from Vodafone phone by code injection callers!
Theft of funds from Vodafone Portugal phone by code injection callers!
In response to my ad on the internet I had fraud people call my cellphone and connect to my home phone at the same time and talk to me a long time asking me unusual questions about my car. I do not know how they connected between my cellphone and my home landline!? But that's not the worst part. After several of such calls and conversations, that moved to nowhere in selling my car, I noticed that my cellphone balance was severely reduced after each of such calls. Vodafone Portugal dealer store refuses to support as they say they are only selling, but not providing tech. support (how nice for them). So I tried to log into my only account at my.vodafone.pt and was unable to. So I tried to call Vodafone Portugal, but there was no response, so I found a forum.vodafone.pt and posted my call for help there. They responded saying that my case is unique and that this kind of fraud did not happen ever before. Then they ignored the fact that I was unable to login and kept running around not answering nor helping me login. Simple thing, right? Just help me login!? Not at Vodafone.pt. Then they told me they had my cellphone connected with my landline, so they removed that connection. Weirdly, I did not ask them to connect my cellphone to my home phone when I purchased the crappy Samsung junk years ago. So now they are telling me they won't investigate nor return my stolen money by some code injection callers that charged my account without my authorization. They advised me to see the police. Police in Portugal is a friendly but useless entity. I guess Vodafone authorized them, cause I did not. Stay away from this shady and useless company.
P.S. The criminals who stole money from my cellphone own the following property and the following cellular mobile numbers in Portugal:
+351-964292302
+351-938954426
+351-910102089
+351-295415044
Property they own:
Rua José Quendera Miranda, 252
Atalaia e Alto Estanqueiro - Jardia, Montijo, Portugal
Block these phone numbers since Vodafone will not help you in anyway!
You should always be attentive not to spend your money in air, but there is amazing support service by phone or email, they answers really fast and can help you solve any problem. Also, they have an amazing app which is really usefull.
Beware of lingering billing, even after terminating the contract! I was only in Portugal for 2 years, and used Vodefone for my cell service only. when I had to return to my home country, I went in person to their store and cancelled with them. I paid the rest of the 2 yr contract, and was given paperwork that showed my termination was final as of the end of that 2 years. However, three months later, I got another bill saying that I still owed them money and they didn't recognize an in-person cancellation! the service people at the store never said anything about having to cancel online in addition to what I did in person, and no one honors the cancellation paperwork that I was given. Be wary - it's hard to find the termination spot through their website, and they only honor that online termination nothing in person.
Avoid this provider . 3 months ago (August 2022) I had no service (tv, net, voice) for several days until they sent a technician to fix it. In November 2022 I reported the same problem again on the 13th, completely without service (tv, net and fixed voice), they only manage to send a technician after 10 days, As I work from home online it is impossible to work. Vodafone customer support is ridiculous and unacceptable in a first world country. I don't know if this would happen in a big city, but once again an authentic discrimination and failure to fulfill their responsibilities to leave a customer 10 days without service and think it's normal. A real shame. I've been a customer of NOS and MEO and I've never spent so long waiting for technical assistance. Avoid…
Poor customer service. Took a month to install a router when they initially said 2 days. Only computers to speak to for customer service when calling in for support, need to drive to the mall to speak to agents as a result. Agents at mall say they can't assist with many of the issues we encounter. Don't sign a contract with vodafone, go elsewhere.
During August VF was so over subscribed you were lucky to get 200kbps, unless it was 4am. Now for approximately the last 2 weeks the entire area (Vale da Telha, Aljezur) is experiencing connections randomly dropping/ disconnecting. Many users with different routers & Sims are experiencing the same problem. Literally goes down for a few minutes every 10 minutes. Its been reported to VF who so far have done nothing.
their 5g is 3g quality in center of city in several places where others for same price 10x faster. one of visits service was rude and make bad co tract for us.
Worst provider ever. Hardly ever possible to reach a person of flesh and blood. And if after hours, you reached by saying "reclamacoes" in their application you get one. This person does not really solve your problem actually, and they never call you back. You spend hours to get through and menu is only in Portuguese, which is strange for an international group. I feel sorry to have left NOS for this Vodafone. But I will return to them and leave V because of not respecting the contract.
Incredibly slow or no connection in Albufeira. We went to Vodafone in Algarve shopping and purchased a new router and a 15 day unlimited data card. They promised in the meanwhile to get engineers to check our location and fix the problem. No joy. The internet is still on and off constantly. Definitely will be looking at Meo or Nos though we have been using Vodafone for over 10 years.
worst 4g internet connection ever in portimão,after several complain we still have the worst connetion here when come the summer.for 30 mb contracted ,i get 0.45 mb of velocity.
If you go to ALgarve choose Nos or Meo.
