Vodacom does not deliver
For a company that calls their social media platform contact page vodacare they definitely do not deliver.
If I could give no stars I would. I have attempted to contact a live individual for 2 full days.... trying at all hours and only receive " I will connect you with a colleague"
They do not provide any customer service of any kind.
So beyond frustrated with this company.
***Update so three days later .... Nothing
I wrote to them...
I continue to get no where. I am going to go with a different company. I can not believe how disappointed I am with the absolute lack of customer service. I also frequently have individuals coming from Canada and have always gotten them connected with a VODACOM sim. I will definitely not be doing this anymore... Your competition will be getting our business
Customer Service
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding my Vodacom 4G Home Internet service and the ongoing difficulties I have experienced in attempting to cancel my contract.
When I initially subscribed to the Vodacom 4G Home Internet package, the service performed very well. However, since the beginning of this year, I have experienced severe network performance issues, particularly with upload speeds frequently dropping below 1 Mbps, despite the service being advertised and expected to provide speeds of up to 50 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload.
In an effort to resolve the issue, I incurred additional expenses by installing external antennas. Unfortunately, this did not improve the service. I have logged numerous service requests and contacted Vodacom support multiple times over several months, yet no effective resolution has been provided.
The poor network performance has significantly impacted my ability to work from home, ultimately leaving me with no option but to obtain internet services from an alternative provider. Since switching providers, I have experienced no connectivity or performance issues, confirming that the problem was specific to the Vodacom service.
Given Vodacom's inability to provide a reliable service or resolve the ongoing network issues, I requested cancellation of my contract without penalty. However, Vodacom is attempting to charge a cancellation fee, which I strongly dispute. I believe this fee is unjustified, as the service has not been delivered to an acceptable standard and Vodacom has failed to remedy the issues despite numerous opportunities to do so. In my view, this constitutes a breach of Vodacom's obligations under the contract.
Furthermore, the process of attempting to cancel this contract has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing customer service experiences I have encountered. Multiple service requests have been logged, yet there appears to be a severe lack of communication and coordination within Vodacom's support teams. Each time I contact Vodacom for an update, I receive conflicting information, and no representative appears to have a clear understanding of the status of my cancellation request.
Adding to my frustration, I received an SMS last week indicating that my ticket had been closed, despite receiving no explanation, feedback, phone call, or written communication regarding the outcome. Throughout this process, Vodacom has consistently failed to respond to emails or return phone calls, leaving me without any meaningful updates or assistance.
I am extremely disappointed by the level of service I have received and the manner in which this matter has been handled. I respectfully request that Vodacom review my case, waive the cancellation penalty, and process the cancellation without further delay.
I trust that this complaint will be taken seriously and that a fair resolution can be reached.
Dishonesty
Shocking service and deceptive delivery.
I have been waiting 32 working days for the delivery of my device. Vodacom was incredibly quick to call and finalise the deal, but getting answers since then has been impossible—no consultant can give me a straight answer. After continuous follow-ups, a courier finally arrived today, only to hand me a SIM card and NO device. I was promised my device, yet I’m left with half an order and still no answers. Unacceptable.
Terrible service
Terrible service. I constantly suffer from no signal or weak signal. When I try to contact them I get stuck talking to their ai bot that keeps telling me he does not see a problem. They give absolutely no service to paying costumers. Once you get your contract they don't care about you
What a bunch of jokers
What a bunch of jokers Vodacom's compliance team are. First they refuse me a contract because I am a retired foreigner. Too stupid to realise that the SA Government has already checked me out financially. Trying to justify your jobs guys? Then, when that doesn't work they refuse because my visa expires 2 months before the end of the contract (something they knew in the first place). Don't waste your time with this bunch of incompetents.
ZERO stars for vodacom …
I have been waiting for vodacom business to sort out a new router for me for nearly 2 weeks. All I am getting is the round around from them. Their customer service is TERRIBLE. They deserve ZERO stars
Absolutely disgusting service provider…
Absolutely disgusting service provider ! Literally thieves . I have an iPhone 14 on contract which has about 4 months left to pay and an iPhone 16e which is about another 2 years .. I asked to cancel the contract and pay them cash instead. The cancellation fee for both phones was coming up to R11 000 ??? More than what the phones are even worth at this point. And that’s not even including the balance of what’s actually owed for the phones which they refused to tell me since I’m still on contract. Absolutely disgusting!!! Can’t wait for my contract to be over to never use this service again
Vodapay is a scam
Vodapay is a scam. They have all these deals but they false advertise they always out of stock conveniently. Funny how they put these deals but no one gets them. Also watch your data dissappear. Another thing you get into these competitions that no one wins. Wheat scam!!!! Someone that works in ethics check up on Vodacom. False advertising is a crime. If you can afford to sue Vodacom do it you'll win lots of money.
I've opened a new contract for a phone
I've opened a new contract for a phone. I've got an invoice for a phone I didn't agree on. I've been calling but the response is always "we'll get back to you" and nothing. No updates no call back. If money is going off the end of the month for that phone there is going to be big problems.
Horrible experience trying to upgrade and cancel
I have had a horrible experience trying to upgrade and cancel.
I had a contract phone for around 2 years now. Contract was suppose to end end of February. I wanted to do an upgrade. For almost a month long I struggled because they kept getting the delivery address and contact number wrong. I had to phone in 5 times just to get updates in what is delaying the process. Each time they ensure the number and address has been updated and correct, each time they are wrong. In the end I was so fed up, I asked them to cancel the upgrade and the contract. If I had known it would be this much of a hassle to do an upgrade, I would have cancelled the contract earlier as normal.
Low and behold, 2 months afterwards they put through a debit order for this same contract I cancelled. I phoned in to find out what is going on as this was suppose to cancelled. The first thing they told me was that the cancellation was never processed and that they needed to put the cancellation through again and investigate what happened. That means they need to put through another debit order for something I cancelled 2 months ago.
They phoned me back after the investigation about the cancellation, turns out they put it in for end of May and not end of April and they did not inform me. Even though I phoned in early April, it was not early enough for Vodacom. So they scheduled it end of May so that they can take 2 more debit order from me, that will be around a R1000 now,
I don't see how this is fair at all. They mess up an upgrade and have me stuck with a contract I no longer want. If it wasn't for the upgrade, I would have cancelled in time. But they kept messing up again and again and now I have to sit with the consequences.
That is not how you treat customers or handle this situation. You don't make several mistakes on your side and make the client pay for them. It is disgusting behaviour and I will advice anyone wanting to use Vodacom to stay away from them.
Unfortunately minus rating is not an…
Unfortunately minus rating is not an option, zero customer service since 4 Feb and even 6 follow-ups later, communication is still being ignored. Even spoke to the call centre, zero action from there either.
Outstanding Service
I visited Vodacom Three Rivers on Tuesday, 19 May 2026, and had the most wonderful experience with Sales Consultant Annastasia and the Honor Representative, Shelley.
From the moment I arrived, both ladies were friendly, professional, and incredibly patient. I originally went into the store with my mind set on a specific cellphone, but once I got there, I changed my mind several times while trying to decide which device would suit me best. Despite keeping them busy for nearly two and a half hours, they remained cheerful, helpful, and attentive throughout.
They carefully explained all the options I was interested in, taking the time to go through the features and differences of each device. Thanks to their guidance, I eventually chose an Honor phone together with an iPad, and I could not be happier with my decision.
What impressed me most was their exceptional customer service. Nothing was too much trouble, and they genuinely wanted to ensure that I was completely satisfied with my purchase. They even encouraged me to return to the store if I ever needed assistance in the future.
Annastasia and Shelley are a credit to Vodacom and Honor. Their kindness, patience, professionalism, and willingness to go the extra mile made this one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest advice and outstanding service.
Thank you both for making the experience such a pleasure.
I am extremely disappointed with the level of service
I am extremely disappointed with the service received from Vodacom regarding my account status.
For weeks, I have been calling different departments to request that my account status be corrected from “archived” to “settled,” as the account prescribed a long time ago. Every time I call, I am promised that the issue will be fixed within “2 hours,” but nothing ever happens.
Instead of resolving the matter, I keep getting transferred from one department to another with no accountability and no proper feedback. This delay is now affecting my ability to apply for another contract.
I am asking Vodacom to urgently resolve this matter and provide proper written feedback instead of sending customers on a wild goose chase.
Excessive SMSes and dishonesty re Night Owl
Another extremely frustrating issue with Vodacom is the constant SMS spam regarding data bundles. Today alone, I received over 40 SMSs saying I need to top up data or that my data is depleted — despite the fact that I already bought data this morning.
I have already turned off notifications and disabled messaging where possible on the app, yet the messages keep coming every few minutes. Between the Night Owl issues and these nonstop SMSs, it honestly feels like Vodacom’s systems simply do not work properly anymore.
DO NOT JOIN FOR FIBRE
I'm not surprised at their 1.3 overall rating. I've been without internet for a month now. And no one has even been to my premises to try and resolve the issue, 4 weeks later and still no internet. Absurd. They replied on my review on Hellopeter to say that they'll contact me but that's all they've been doing. Logging 100's of new tickets calling and sending email but not actually fixing the problem. Their latest running excuse is blaming Vumatel. Anyways, it's hard to believe they even got this far. Truly astonishing...
Company it's over the world and help…
Company it's over the world and help people and companies over network connection and sending message and voice not and data
I wouldn't recommend this company
The customer care is non existing. The agents don't don't know what is happening, they don't know their internal processes, they drop the phone when all you're doing is calling for support. They provide you with the incorrect contact information. There are no managers or senior around when asking for further support. The online platform is unhelpful.
I work in a contact centre and never in my life have I experienced what I experienced yesterday.im certain this review won't do anything to help my case either. I would never take services again if this how the support is.
I bought phone yesterday so I want to…
I bought phone yesterday so I want to return it because found out that they also bought me IPhone and I didn’t use it at all that Phone but they don’t want to me to return it….
I’m so hurt I want my money back.
Vodacom you should really have a…
Vodacom you should really have a company review on staff and debits. I 1000% ensure there is ALWAYS money in the bank for my debit orders but yet there's ALWAYS an issue with your services. We call in your staff is rude and arrogant. Rather then give the jobs to people who wants to work. Funny part it its 10/10 times I call your company and that includes the times I am considering upgrading my accounts but your services are terrible. Fix it.
