I received a damaged item and have contacted customer service 6 different times over an 8 week period. I continue to receive the run around without resolution. It’s disappointing because I would like an alternative to Amazon but the customer experience with VGP has been extremely poor.

Poor customer service
I have ordered a few items from them and generally it's always been fine, this time though it's been pretty poor. Bought 2 collector editions both were delivered in a decent time frame but one came damaged and the seal was hanging off. It was a cardboard box, the corners were ripped and the actual box looked warped so it wouldnt close properly. This was definetly sent like this as the it was well packaged with my second item and wrapped tightly in bubble wrap for shipping. Contacted VGP with plenty of photos and after a delay was told that it is a manufacturing issues, the will have a look at the stock they have but they won't do anything!
I understand thesr things happens but they didn't even offer an apology, it was almost an inconvenience to them that I had asked! It's not a hugely expensive item so it's not worth my time to chase them or go via PayPal but just very poor customer service and if you have a look on the reviews here if anything goes wrong with your order they won't help

mariokart 8 complete edition disaster
I am genuinely feeling sad having to write this and place this review. I bought the complete version of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch from them with all 6 DLC’s on the game card. This was January the 10th.
The version I got though wasn't the right version. Mistakes can happen but aside from responding really slowly and ignoring the first email they refuse in essence to fix the mistake. Because you can download the final dlc for free.
To me though that doesn't matter I already had a version with the 5 DLC on the game card this was supposed to be an upgrade. I had over 15 orders there which were all positive. This is the first time they make a mistake. They way they are trying to NOT solve this means I more than likely will never order from them again.
VGP should be ashamed of themselves and how they deal with their mistake with their European customers. So I wouldn't recommend anyone in the EU to do business with them unless you are okay with the risks involved in case of a mistake.
edit: it has been months later there is no resolution. A lot happened but to not make it too much longer I sum it up.
after a WHOLE lot of effort they send a new one after I send the old one back. However they messed up the paperwork according to the post office. So even though the tracking says it was returned there it eaperently wasnt. Vgp at that point decided to ghost me so now more then 5 months later I have no game and no money. The only thing I have to give them is that they did refund the return shipping.

I've had lots of great shopping experiences with VGP. They have a lot of great hard to find games for sale from minor distributers such as eastasiasoft and limited run games that don't natively get sold in the UK. They're the best place to buy these games since the Canadian currency is a lot weaker then the British pound, so it's always cheaper to buy from VGP than directly from these distributors. That said I have one gripe with VGP and that is that their warehouse often forgets to ship out items that have been purchased. I've had 3 occasions where the pre-order date passed, their store was now selling the items as in stock, but they hadn't dispatched the item to me. Messages took a long while to get back to me and customer support never acknowledged that they'd not sent my order despite having had the money of ages. So yeah you'll need to stay on top of your orders or there's a risk you'll never get your items.
TERRIBLE Customer Service bordering Illegal
This is my first ever review here because my experience was THAT BAD. I bought a few games from this company in the past and received my items no problems at all but on my last purchase there was a problem and my first time contacting their customer support. Basically I asked for an order cancellation minutes after accidentally placing an order - as per their refund policy. I was contacted by one of their employees and she informed me that cancellation was only possible for store credit - which I knew and was fine so I replied that this was ok. However - to my shock - on the next day the order was just sent out anyways and I was basically told "ooops - we didn't inform the shipping team so you can't send it back anymore". At this point I actually had to open a paypal dispute for them to even accept my return. They said I would have to pay the return shipping myself since they can't provide a label internationally - but after they receive the items back they will refund me the full price AND the return shipping cost. Well this was another lie since when they got the items back they did refund me the initial purchase price but never refunded the return shipping cost which was about 15€. At this point they ghosted and banned me too. So this company will actively LIE to customers which baffled me since I have never experienced something like this from a 'established company' in my life before.
Short story - OK site to buy stuff but if you ever encounter any problems and have to rely on their customer service you will be manipulated and lied to.

I ordered the latest Atelier Ryza trilogy and part 2 got a misprint spine. They told me nothing is damaged and there is no discount. Their only option is to send it in and back on my own costs. I already paid 55 Euro for the game, thank you VGP for your understanding.

Ok, I had another order? Nothing can go wrong, right? I asked them to combine orders, but that doesnt work, so they had to cancel 1 game and add it to my other order. I paid a second time for the same game and asked for a refund.
They told me that I only could get a store credit,because I canceled the game. After a lot of Emails and stress, they understood that I paid money for store credit and I still bought the game. Now I can get my money back, but wait, they want to deduct 5% processing fees. Never heard about that in 20 years getting paypal refunds.
Since yesterday I cant log into my VGP account. So I contacted the customer service. They told me that I dont have an account with them. I seriously dont know what is happening here anymore.
No apologies so far, no consumer based business. I did spend a lot of money and I only got problems. I am unhappy and disappointed. Sorry for the language, English is not my main language.

This business is a scam. They only sent half of my order and customer services wouldn't respond to my queries. Then when I had no option but to dispute the transaction via my credit card company, they disabled my account and again wouldn't respond about refunding my 2 other orders, all together they withheld over AUD $1000 and I am still battling them via my credit card company.
