Viber blocked me with no explanation and for no apparent reason. I have seen other reviewers make the same complaint. There is apparently no right of appeal. I only had one contact on the site, and was stopped from contacting him, even though he had made no complaint against me, and I had only posted a couple of messages which he had failed to see, so hadn't responded to me. No customer service provided at all!
Takes money, no Service
Tried to sign up to viber with a international plan. Input phone #, select plan, paid. And tried to install on phone. Got a message the account is locked... After 10+ support tickets. Come to find out that my overseas phone # that I have had for almost a year is blocked for spam... Considering I never had a viber account in that time, it was impossible to have been my number for at least 1 year.
Customer service was down right rude.

My number has been permanently blacklisted after attepting to switch to new handset for "spam or unusual activity". Contacting support resulted in an automated email confirming the decision is irreversible.

My account was inexplicably blocked as spamming(?!). I have used it only to contact close friends. I tried all ways to communicate with Viber customer service, but there is no way to get past their automated "there's nothing you can do about it". They are the worst company I ever had to deal with. I will keep defaming them and hope they fade away into inexistence. This is how frustrated they managed to make me, after trying in vain numerous times to get someone to look in to my case. Avoid.

trying to activate a brand new phone…
trying to activate a brand new phone with Viber. have problems. they only have automatic e-mail support, meaning - SUPPORT IS NOT EXISTENT. Error messages not telling you what the actual problem is. Their SMS activation does not work, their Call activation - also. and you're allowed to have only 2 call attempts in a 24h hour period. Meaning - whatever important information you have inside your chat history is LOCKED for you.

I tried the Viber wallet for the first time on March 31st.
Since that day and 5 days later the recipient has not received the money and I am trying through their support team to find a solution regarding this very serious matter. What they answered me is that I need to send them:
"Alternative State-Issued Photo ID." Make sure it is clean and well lit Photo of you holding the ID.
Proof of residential address.
Copy of all payment methods (cards) added to the account (please ask to hide sensitive information - we need to see the name on the card, the first 6 digits, and the last 4 digits only)''.
All these actions must have done BEFORE you take my money!!!!!

This is the worst customer experience ever and besides, we are talking about someone's money that you have no right to keep without his permission.
If you were a serious fintech company you would validate all the necessary details of your customer and then proceed with the transaction.

ATTENTION: AVOID VIBER PAY - SCAM HAZARD
Beware of the service Viber Pay and their financial service provider RAYPD! Viber encourages users to add money to their account in order to transfer money or send money to friends. After verification by ID card, the top-up also works, but the account is then blocked and support doesn't feel responsible or doesn't answer on your request anymore. Viber keeps the money and does not contact you any more.
The only solution is to report the incident to the credit card company and get the money back that way.
AVOID THE PAY FUNCTION AND ALL FUNCTIONS WHICH ARE RELATED TO VIBER PAY OR THEIR FINANCIAL SERVICE COMPANY RAPYD AT ALL COSTS.
Nothing like this happens with any other provider, be it Joom, Verse or Vivid. High risk of scam, I also reported the incident to Apple and there are several victims.
REPORT THIS TO YOUR CREDIT CARD VENDOR, SO THEY GET BLOCKED BY VISA AND MASTERCARD.

Reached out to "customer dont care". who replied word for word
"it was reported as a source of spam or as a result of unusual activity. The account has been automatically added to a block list and can not be unblocked.
No further information is available at this time. Please do not reply to this e-mail."
tried this with 3 mobile numbers. 2 brand new gmail accounts and with the same result.
so they dont tell you why. or what we can do. plus tell us do not reply?

A pain to get support & delete contacts
As far as contacting friends and family , it's very good and gets the job done.
However , it's horrendous and a pain in the neck getting support from their team and awwwwwwwwwwwefull in managing contacts. You can delete only one contact at a time. You cannot choose to delete multiple or all contacts at once.
Looks like a big scam
Installation only gives an option to accept all ads and scams, refuse and you cannot use Viber
Approve all and get scams, bots and ads
