Very effective money transfer with good exchange rate. There's need to improve on customer service response. The chat function and calls are non responsive

Reversed transaction is almost 6 months now I still haven't gotten my money back. Three weeks ago they told me my money is ready to be refunded , but anytime I call they give flimsy excuses. The most terrible transfer company I have ever come across . I don't know who did this to Africa, especially Ghanaians very poor services always. Am deleting this app. Other companies just take one week to reverse transaction. I regret using unitylink.

Recently, the service has been very poor. A refund has taken over 2 weeks to be processed and no one responses when I send emails to the team. Very terrible

The second time, I have been frustrated for choosing to transfer money through unity link.
On 14/12/2023, there was a complete neglect on my part to deal with my bank for a mistake their own system carelessly made.
And i can't imagine i didn't advise myself for doing business with them.
And almost exactly one year, I have been greeted with another frustrating and embarrassing situation.
On 21/12/2024, I needed to make a transaction for my sons Xmas expenses in Ghana. This transaction was made to her mom, who is a regular receiver of money every month through this same unity link.
To my surprise, there was no status indication of the transaction after some hours.
Later in the day, an email was received, claiming the transaction had been blocked because there was an address mismatch on my bank card linked to my UnityLink account.
I said, "Wow, this card is linked to the account for more than 6 months. There hasn't been a single day you guys have reached out for me to either update or provide my current address." Surprisingly, the address they claim they have on their system, i have been inactive with it for almost 2yrs now.
So, how come out of the blue? You block an urgent transaction at a Christmas festive.
And the most worrying thing is that, upon realising, it is gonna be difficult dealing with their dishonest behaviour, I requested a refund on same day 21/12/2024.
Today is 2/01/2025, Only God knows when I am going to get my money back. I have called, emailed, live chat, etc....All that their customer care team sort to do is give inconsistent information and reasons.
And just today, I have been asked the question, "Do you still want a refund?" Seriously, to be honest with you guys, I have got better service somewhere and, I will put in good effort to discourage all the people I know to advise themselves else they risk loosing huge than what has been happening to me.
No wonder my main bank, HSBC, blocked your link from debiting.
Byee Byee to your network.
Thank you.

I accidentally sent 7,800 Ghana cedis to a recipient twice. Realising the mistake within minutes, I contacted Unity Link, who assured me the transaction was blocked and would be refunded within two weeks. True to their word, the recipient confirmed one transaction was blocked. However, after two weeks, Unity Link claimed the recipient had collected the money, which I knew was false since they had blocked it.
Despite proof of the blocked transaction, Unity Link repeatedly blamed the recipient, claiming they transferred the money. This was untrue, as the statement clearly showed no transfer occurred, and the recipient even received a text confirming a reversal. When I asked Unity Link to provide evidence of collection or transfer, they failed to do so. They were apologetic about their "mistakes"
Throughout this process, Unity Link agents lied, shifted blame, and gaslighted me, accusing the recipient of theft. Their dishonest and gas-lighting tactics are disgraceful, and I am still waiting for my refund over 4 weeks after the fact. I will NEVER use this company again.

This service is unusually slow. Other similar providers transfer money instantly. I ordered food from a restaurant when it came to payment even after 30 minutes the payment had still not got through . Rather embarrassing so i had to pay via other means. This is not the first time i have had this experience. There are other more reliable providers. The interface is also rather outdated. Sorry, not for me

Been having some bad experiences since a month. Now

After 20 hours of a transfer made, with transaction code 444MB6531267784, it is still not delivered to the receiver. On one at unitylink will pick up when you call. This is not the first time they are failing to pick up a call. This is the worst money transfer service to Ghana I’ve ever used.

Unfortunately they have decided to introduce this new security policy of asking the customer entering a 4 digit pin and then the customer waiting on a OTP via SMS text. I’ve tried for 4 days, spoken to their customer service 6 times since and no one has called back to tell me what’s wrong. I can’t send money to a desperate family member. My last call was abruptly cut off! They must know there is a fault with their system but won’t admit to it. I now have to find another way to send the money.

Disappointed in the way you are not responding to the issues with your App. I’ve been having problems to log into the app since Friday and have not been able to get access. I have made multiple phone calls each time promised to be called back. But I have not received a response yet. I can’t believe the lack of care, support and respect that is being shown. It seems as though you have no regard for your longstanding customers who have patronised Unity Link over the years. I’m so disappointed.

They have introduced a verification stage using a One Time Password (OTP). This does not work on mobiles. Despite many complaints they do not seem to care about amending this.

Find another way to send money to Ghana!
1. They do not inform you at the point of payment that certain documentation is required to process a payment now, despite having used the app. previously without these.
2. They email asking you to send sensitive personal documents through standard email - rather than something secure like an encrypted portal, proper 3rd party ID checking service or SFTP; whilst their level of competence and security is not something that I am at all confident of. Why would I give them my drivers licence, passport, selfie and bank statement, especially in light of the fraud that I’ve read happens via their app., that they take no real responsibility in tackling!
3. They previously called and intimidated an older family member who left a bad review about another matter of their incompetence and strong-armed her into retracting it. Utterly disgusting and unaware of how actually successful and trustworthy companies work to gain customer confidence.
4. We previously sent several payments via the app. as an error message kept displaying about the transactions failing. The transactions were in fact going through and we had to contact a slow customer service to remedy several payments having gone out that needed refunding.
I would not recommend UnityLink. They need to improve their embarrassingly poor:
- customer service
- communication of terms and conditions before consumers send money with them
- SECURITY around their so-called compliance exercise of asking for personal documents.
They get 2 stars, rather than 1, as another family member sends money with them, but only after sending their personal documents - in this instance we are just waiting for the identity theft to happen!
Avoid these clowns.

I sent money £250 to Jennifer Offei Akuffo but not received yet. Please call to explain.
Bank maintenance was undergoing yesterday but ok now

My bank's Fraud Department contacted me in the middle of the night to say that Unity Link tried to withdraw two large amounts from my debit account, one withdrawal was declined but the other went through. Thank goodness my bank recognised this fraudulent activity and will refund the money taken out of my account but now my bank card has to be cancelled and I have to wait for a new one, which is extremely inconvenient, to say the least. This is an African company, which I have never even heard of, so beware !!!

Good Service a bit of delays sometimes

I have used this company for a while now and previously had no issues. However, last week I tried transferring money and the transaction kept being cancelled. All this time I kept receiving messages that no funds had been taken. It was only later that I realised funds had been taken.
Despite repeated calls to their customer services team, the money is yet to be refunded

I sent money to a phone vendor called fruit of Israel in Ashiaman this January to buy a phone for a fruit. The money went as CBG bank transfer and not Unitylink. The vendor refused to handover the phone and calls to UK back and forth didn't resolve the issue. I immediately activated Reversal of funds and up to now in July I am still waiting for my money. I went to Ghana again in April and went to MTN office. I was told it's only Unitylink and CBG that can get the money back. Unitylink says the reversal was unsuccessful SO THERE IS SOMETHING Fishy going on. They probably use these loopholes to take money from innocent customers please check with them when sending money because their system is porous. It's very annoying 😞, I am still chasing it ever since.
I have used Unitylink for years and it's shocking such things happens with them. Currently looking for other providers, it's better to pay a fee and have control fee things often go sour like I am experiencing now🤬
