Fraudulent Company
They have gone bust and about time. They are a fraudulent company that cancelled the FX transactions I concluded with them, even after I checked in advance with them that there would be no problem executing the transactions and sending the funds to the pre registered beneficiary. After receiving their confirmation that there would be no problem with the transaction, I executed these with them, and they then cancelled the transaction not sending the funds to the beneficiary. They then applied a cancellation fee to my account! So I took them to court. The claim is still outstanding as they are in administration. If they dispute any of this I have the court documents and all emails to prove what I am stating is accurate. Dreadful fraudulent company should have gone out of business many years ago. Should be given zero stars!

Very pleased I started using Equals Money (Chris Webster) If anyone is looking at an alternative after Rational went into administration. I cannot recommend Equals Money enough, great service and regulated by FCA
CANNOT GET MY MONEY!!!!
I have been using rational FX now for just over 2 years now for them to tell me yesterday that they are not returning my funds!
Luckily I was contacted by one of the risk management team at Moneycorp - Bobby Powell, thank god! I was able to set up an account and get payment out same day to my supplier.
Definitely worth reaching out if you find yourself in the same boat. Bobby Powell - 020 3823 0360
Do not send any money . They are bankrupt !
I have setup a transfer for 11 500 US Dollars.
Rational Fx is now bankrupt and they just told me they will keep my money and not send it to my recipient !!!
Had trouble getting funds to a supplier…
Had trouble getting funds to a supplier a few months ago which resulted in me chasing the money for several weeks. I'm glad my issue got revolved when it did as I've just received an email saying they aren't able to return customer funds, so please take caution.
We now use Estuary FX who have made the transition seamless and transfers are cheap and swift.
Company has closed down

I paid £2000 to this company on 27/11/23, received an email from them today 28/11/23 that stated we have suspended rational foreign exchange ltd's ability to accept new funds, and that we are not currenty able to return customers funds held by rational foreign exchange ltd,
not sure if i will receive my £2000 back, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
I think it's gone bust
I think it's gone bust. They've taken our money for payments but not made the payments! It is a FCA regulated firm which should be keeping client money in a safeguarding account. What I am desperate to find out is if that is the case and will we get our money back?!
I’m sorry I didn’t warn you earlier
I spent three months this past summer fighting to get over a half million dollars returned from RationalFX. They continued with excuses and evasive responses until I hired an attorney in London to recover the funds. After receipt of today’s “going out of business” email, I can’t express how fortunate I feel. My only regret is that I didn’t post about my awful experience to potentially save others who now appear to have little hope of getting their money.
They have suddenly closed!!
I sent funds to them on 21/11/232
I sent funds to them on 21/11/232. Beneficiary has not received them. Have called them over 20 times, no response, no response to e mails. Their website reports cloning. There is a major problem I suspect
Is RationalFX bust ?
Today, 28 Nov 2023, RationalFX emailed customers as follows:
'We must inform you that we have suspended Rational Foreign Exchange Limited’s ability to accept new funds and that we are not currently able to return customer funds held by Rational Foreign Exchange Limited. We will continue to keep you informed of any new developments.'
Also, on 13 March 2023, RFx emailed that it had changed its bank account no. because of 'Our migration to JP Morgan'. No explanation was given, but implies that RFx has been taken over by JP Morgan.
Also, since at least 6 months, the currency conversion margin charged by RFx for £ to € has increased unannounced by a large % compared to the market. If this is typical for all currencies, then RFx is no more competitive and is losing customers.
With today's evasive email we must assume that RFx may be out of business for good. Be Warned, be Wise.
NOTE added 14.05.2025 After the above warning was posted in Nov 2023, the firm RFx had stopped trading and does not exist.

Urgent that took over a week, but I got it in the end
OK, needed it quick(ish) but the standard speed was OK so I rushed to make this happen as soon as I noticed my need.
I had a few problems.
My password was wrong,? OK, should not have been so I tried to change it.
I did have my wrong number in for the SMS text so I had to call them, OK I called. After 3 calls, no, 4 to get that fixed, it got fixed.
OK they had to call me the 4th call, to give me the recovery password over the phone but Yay! I had it.
That took time and I wanted this done today.
Still in a hurry I log in, I change my password and Oh! Now I have to phone them as the account will no longer let me do this online? (it did in June?).
I call in, the deal is sorted, I sent the money, they get the money, 8 days later I chase, YES, I should have called earlier and hey, "that is slow, let me look in to that".
On the second day after my call the money arrives. Well Spain is an awful long way from the UK (now).
OK, I got my money, I had to borrow locally from a friend as my cashflow was lost but we are sorted now.
No curtesy call to say, sorted, it just appeared.
Next time I will use my mouse to see if I can better the rate on the day, I sure as heck think I can better the service I had on this deal, in the past I have not had any problems but this was a bit stressy for me.
