Terrible app. It always takes at least three or four goes to get something to play, and each time you have to restart it, you get the same ads repeated over and over. It's the most aggravating app I've ever used. I want to watch classic EastEnders though, and I have EE TV, and this seems to be the only way to watch as you don't get the channel as part of the package so I can't even watch live or record it.

Would like to watch this channel, however impossible as buffering and restarting at beginning of program.

I’ve tried streaming programs from U and have now given up trying to use it.

After the adverts the program usually won’t restart without several attempts and often it will start from the beginning rather than where stopped. It’s suspicious that the adverts always play and when you restart the program you have to watch them over again!
It's a joke it takes 1/5hr to watch a 45min program because of having to refresh and then adverts. The ads always play fine and never freeze????? Wonder why !!!

Updated 10.10.24 - turns out it wasn't my email address being rejected but the new password I was trying to set up - unfortunately the error message only referred to my email address, which was driving me crazy. Once I ignored that and set up a password that correctly met all the criteria I got in. So although the initial error was indeed mine their message needs to be updated. I'm still unhappy with the inability to communicate with a human being when one is having problems so the 1* remains.

My account is registered with my old, defunct email address. I've tried multiple times to edit the email address once logged in, but it will not accept the new email address. I've even deleted the original account and tried to re-register with the new, active email address but it still won't accept it. Pleas for assistance from Contact Us (I refuse to call it Customer Service) get replies implying that they have not read my explanatory paragraph but make assumptions that I'm making silly errors.

U was my favourite channel as I loved watching all the old programmes. Since the recent rebrand the app has stopped working and I’m being asked to sign in again. Have tried numerous times but seems to be an issue with QR code and it’s been impossible to do so. I’ve all but given up. When things are working well why can’t they be left alone.

Absolute load of rubbish since the rebrand! I've got to delete the app and then download again and sign in each time I want to watch something...... Not good enough!

Since rebranding to U can’t playback or restart in fact the earlier programs are not what you missed but totally new programs. Used to watch a lot now total rubbish.

videos get stuck. Nothing to do with my internet or device. Ads work perfectly fine though. Watched more ads than anything. 10 ads back to back. Ridiculous. Don't use unless you like forced ads

I watched more adverts than I did of the show (that's not hyperbole, I think it's broken). I heard the same adverts over and over again and I felt like I'd been sent to some sort of Madison Avenue brain washing centre. I'm unsure why I can't just pay a fee to go ad free.

I not having the bad experience that most seem to have. The adverts are irritating but I just make a cuppa or something. My complaint is that you can't remove programs you've watched from the 'continue watching' menu. They just sit there and the only way to get rid of them is to remove and reload the app. Not the end of the world just annoying. They don't respond to their own messaging service, so no point in having one.

Would give no stars if possible

UKTV used to be good. I am in my 70s and loved the older programs from the 60s and 70s. Now it is U it is rubbish. no program works throughout. I keep getting stop and refresh. The loads of adverts then continue for 3 or 4 minutes then back to refresh. U is s_it. UKTVplay was good. UKTV has sold out to an advertising agency.

Unwatchable due to adverts. 2 of 9 30 seconds to go so you think its 30 seconds till the programme resumes. But no, the next thing say something like 5 out of 9 30 seconds to go. Trying to watch bangers and cash. I would estimate total advert time is longer than the actual programme. Apprentely its part of the BBC studios, don't we pay a license fee to watch BBC programmes?

The only channel i cant stream continually freezing waste of time it was fine until it changed to U now about as much use as a chocolate teapot

All itv channels show adverts perfectly,but the programs dont show anything or produce error code uktv-02-v003

Ever since 2019 to 2023, Gold as to Drama and watch was good to watch,
But it's not the program's that are at fault, it's the blasted wokeness of the quotes of saying this program will reflect today's society of outdated language, no language is outdated at all.
Plus what tops it all off is the wokeness of the in your face adverts of funerals, life insurance and diversity crap. And show these perfectic adverts in day just puts people off as it's if they are reminding you of you are going to die, it's these perfectic channels that will die if don't change the record. But as long as they don't script the wokeness of telling you. Likes of That's TV,
But please, get rid of woke adverts as it's killing what used to be a great channels to watch. But now it's a turn off. And bring back humour adverts. Wouldn't be like this if people didn't think of money making scams.
And now I try not to watch it at all. Only record and fast forward the crap diversity and wokeness of adverts

Uktv play, well doesn't...play that is. The new 'U & Drama' is rubbish. When trying to watch programmes although the sond is constant, the screen goes black and picture disappears every few seconds- between every 10 and 25 seconds. We have high grade internet speed, but yhey just tell most people it is their internet! Great, blame the customer rather than deal with it! Its your channel, sort it out!

Adverts are out of control. Had to download this as One Foot in the Grave has just been took off iplayer for some reason. This only has season one and it's unbearable to try and watch it. 5 adverts to start the program then 30 seconds in 10 adverts. Wont bother anymore

Too many adverts and it's worst since the rebranding to U. Tonight watching a show we had 16 ads per interval......it's owned by BBC and we already pay a tv license. What's going on with all these adverts.

Since the U upgrade/ rebranding the smart tv app has turned to cr&p. It started with repeating ad breaks over and over again, I had to try several times to get back to where I was in the programme. Now it just goes into a splash screen loop and doesn't work at all. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but nothing changed. Shoot the developers, poorly tested garbage.
