I have used them twice

I have used them twice. Unvortunaly, I booked them them close together. My latest is with a NYC booking at The Public. Called and told my card was never charged and I had no booking. Algotels is who I was directed to which by the way was a higher charge without amenitiy charges added. Long story, but I would never book thru Trivago, Expedia which they apparently own Trivago. Or Algotels. Trivago and Expedia have a 1.2 rating on Trustpilot and Algotels has a 1.0. Scam for sure !

terrible experience,,, I booked online and a hotel out of town for a one day stay once my booking was done. My booking was for the next day then they tried to charge me extra to change my date back to the date that I requested it. It’s a whole bunch of mess and scams with this company. I advised do not use.

I accidentally chose the wrong date for…

I accidentally chose the wrong date for my stay and they completely refused to work with me. I will never use them again To be clear, I fully understand that losing one customer likely means nothing to them. However, I will be absolutely satisfied if, over the next 36 months, I can convince just 20 people not to use their services.
It’s unfortunate, because their horrible staff’s inability to resolve a very simple issue may have cost me $75—but it will end up costing them at least ten times that.
I recognize that this may not amount to much compared to their company’s overall revenue and that it may even be petty on my part, but I will sleep much better knowing that I came out on top.

Do not book with TRIVAGO

Do not book with TRIVAGO. I booked through Trivago which ultimately is a company named ALGOTELS. Expect additional and unexplained charges with little to no customer service. Charges are referred to as taxes & fees. I was refused an itemized list of these charges and telling me that “this information is unavailable.” This deal ended up costing more than the regular hotel rate.

DO NOT USE TRIVAGO. THEY ARE THEIVES

I attempted to extend my current reservation with Wyndham Days Inn in Hammond, IN. I booked wih Trivago the day before my current reservation ended. I had stayed there previously with Trivago. Trivago/Algotel booked me in Hammond, Louisiana and would not transfer the reservation or cancel the reservation. I called Wyndham, and they could not modify the reservation only Algotels/Trivago could. At least Wydham offered me rewards. Trivago kept my $340 and provided me nothing for it.

extremely bad service

Trivago’s service has been a complete disappointment. The tool selected different dates than the ones I reserved, and despite calling their support team four days in a row, all I received were scripted, unhelpful responses. The service is extremely poor, and you should be cautious about the hotel details they advertise—they may place you on whatever dates they choose. This is truly unacceptable by any standard.

no help from customer services to solve booking issues

I made a booking error and immediately contacted customer services to get the mistake resolved. My issue was 'escalated' to an agent but I never heard back. I emailed the issue and followed up with another call but got no response. I travel a lot using trivago's competitors and never had such a bad experience of being totally ignored. Now badly out of pocket, I recommend not using this platform!

I booked a room at THE ANTHENAEUM HOTEL…

I booked a room at THE ANTHENAEUM HOTEL & RESIDENCES in LONDON through TRIVAGO and I was then contacted by ALGOTELS and received a booking confirmation by e-mail. A couple of days later I was e-mailed a receipt for the booking. The hotel I booked is part of a much larger group of hotels and I assumed this (ALGOTELS) was the name of the holding/managing company for the hotel group.

I booked train tickets to go to LONDON only to be told when trying to check into the hotel that our booking through TRIVAGO was a SCAM. This ruined all our plans for our trip to London.

We was then informed that there had been five other people turn up at the same hotel in the last week to be told in the lobby the same thing that there bookings were scams due to bookings through TRIVAGO.

Tried to contact TRIVAGO and inform them of the SCAM booking they are supporting through their website. They provide absolutely NO WAY to contact TRIVAGO or inform, or identify the scammers who are active upon the platform in the event of one or it appears MANY of their customer being the victims of scammers using their site.

This policy in my opinion it means TRIVAGO are facilitating these scammers, allowing them to continue and expand these SCAMMING operations unchallenged throughout the TRIVAGO platform.

I assume these scammers are there for rife throughout the TRIVAGO platform. TRIVAGO try to remove themselves of any responsibility for these scammers by essentially saying they are third parties using their site/platform to facilitate these scams and simply it’s not our (TRIVAGO) fault even though TRIVAGO are allowing this to happen and supporting there exposures to potentially millions (in fact all) of TRIVAGO customer base. There is clearly an inadequate vetting procedure by TRIVAGO to identify the companies using their platform ensuring they are legitimate and capable to sell the hotel rooms they are selling.

I WILL NEVER USE TRIVAGO AGAIN AS SIMPLY THIS PLATFORM IS COMPLETELY COMPROMISED AND CAN NOT BE TRUSTED DUE TO IT BEING COMPLETELY UNDERMINED BY SCAMMERS.

⚠️ ATTENTION – MISLEADING REDIRECTION

Be very careful when using Trivago.

I clicked on a specific hotel, but when Trivago redirected me to another website that automatically switched it to a different hotel with an almost identical name.
You don’t notice the change unless you check every detail. I had to fight like a dog to get my money back.

I have proof that this is a deceptive practice, and I will pursue this to the very last consequences.

Stay away from this platform until they address this.

Trivago book & go Algotels SCAMMERS

Booked a hotel in London last weekend through Trivago. Cheapest option was through Algotels. I paid, got confirmation email so I had no reason to think things could go badly wrong. They did. We turned up at the hotel to be told there was no booking in my name and they’d had 2 previous bookings through this site not exist either. The price paid was competitive but I thought it was a Black Friday deal. I was able to contact customer services through a UK number. The lady I spoke to was helpful but was in the US. She kept me up to date and the last message said they had experienced a technical issue with my booking so were refunding along with a $200 credit towards a future booking. Thankfully the hotel reception manager was incredibly helpful and offered me this first night at a 15% discount with free breakfast. We’ll probably have to abandon our trip tomorrow as the rack rate here is really high (as are all hotels in London tomorrow night). Warning: DO NOT BOOK through Trivago book & go with Algotels. Once bitten.,,,,

Don't trust Trivago

Hotel was not as advertised, dirty carpets not laid flat causing a trip hazard, no working remote control for the TV, 5 out of 7 menu items not available at the hotel and no bottled water. Hotel did not action my complaint and although I made the booking and transaction through Trivago they were not interested.

Should be closed as a scam

Horrible customer service. If your reservations don't allow cancelations or change of dates, why do you offer it as an extra fee (which I paid) and why do you offer a change of date in your customer support when you do not allow changes. You cannot speak to a human and then find out all your email responses are automated. My experience confirms your horrible ratings.

Wrong info on listing

Wrong info on listing. Flying into FLL staying at Holiday Inn Express Ormond, which the listing said was 2.6 miles to the FLL airport. When researching the ACTUAL ADDRESS it was 3.5 HOURS away!! Cant get a refund because Trivago is a booking sight and not responsible for their listings by their hundreds of hotel sites. THIS IS A FRAUD COMPANY.

Booked our hotel in Nashville through…

Booked our hotel in Nashville through Trivago and arrived to find there was a key pad for entry to the premises and no reception. A Gardner let us in as we had not been provided by either Sonder the hotel operator or Trivago. Once in, there was an open area surrounded by rooms on 2 floors and again key boxes with key pad for which again we had not been provided. We spent almost 5 hours in the baking heat to both Sonder and Trivago, who both refused to contact each other, trying to have the key code provided. Trivago did not have the information, Sonder refused to provide it as neither of our email addresses were the one provided by Trivago, they refused to send to one of our email addresses and would not tell us what email address it had been sent to as that would need to be got from Trivago. Trivago said they could not provide that information over the phone so totally caught between a rock and a hard place. No where left to go with either company so we had no alternative but to book another hotel, not easy as a large concert on at the Bridgestone arena meaning rooms were few and far between and more expensive. On returning home I contacted the same person we had spoken to at the hotel and new what we had gone through requesting a refund and an element of compensation for our added costs and after supplying all the info requested including invoices for our new hotel five weeks later we are told we are getting nothing back as the booking was non refundable, so Trivago got money for nothing, Sonder got money for nothing and we got nothing for our money and advised there is no one else to contact. Unbef******leivable.
