What's so great about Triodos

Triodos, unlike most other banks, certainly all those I know of that are online-only banks, has adequate staffing levels to be able to more fully address customer needs and enquiries, and where a member of staff does not have an answer, they will do the research and get back in touch with an answer. In general Triodos provides a better level of service and is patient, attentive, careful, polite, informative, reliable and provides good quality customer service.

Quick responses to form submission and queries via the internet bank chat function. Plus it is good to know that any money that I save with Triodos is being used for things that I believe in :-)

Fast, friendly support and ethical banking

I had a complex, high‑value SWIFT payment issue that could have been a nightmare. Triodos' customer‑support team handled it swiftly via the in‑app chat, explaining the problem clearly, helping me report the error, recall the funds, and complete the transfer successfully. Their calm, patient assistance turned a stressful situation into a smooth resolution.

I’m also delighted that my money is invested in socially beneficial projects and that Triodos operates with far fewer predatory practices than many other banks. Highly recommended!

THIS BANK IS ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE
THEY BLOCKED MY ACCOUNT AFTER I RECEIVED UNIVERSAL CREDIT. NOW AFTER 1 month and A half STILL WONT GIVE ME MY MONEY.
I HOPE THE WORST FOR THIS BANK.
I HOPE THEY GET ROBBED THE SAME WAY THERE ROBBING ME
RIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS THEY WANT TO PLAY GAMES WITH ME!

Great organisation

I've been with Triodos for the last two years. I opened my account due to the company's strong ethical credentials, and I like their transparency and regular communications to their customers about the ethical steps they are taking. Good customer service and app. Overall, very impressed

Green but bad

I have been using Triodos for several years now and am completely dissatisfied with it.
Payments take too long to go through. Sometimes it takes several hours to show if someone has transferred money, which is too slow for a modern bank. This is awful
if you are trying to pay for a product privately and the recipient can’t see any payment.
If you do not use your account for approximately 90 days, they threaten to close it, despite paying them to simply have the account.
Their ISA interest rates seem to get worse every year, and their terms and conditions just keep making things worse for customers.
In terms of customer service, they seem indifferent and there is a complete lack of care for customers.

I signed up to be green, and do my bit for the planet, but I’ve found it difficult to use the current account due to how slow transactions are, and the services simply aren’t as good now.

A bank with green investments is a wonderful idea, but Triodos need to improve their banking and the way they treat customers, if they want to change the planet.

An exceptional bank

I have always found Triodos staff helpful and incredibly patient when I have needed help by phone.

WhenI passed the facts about money which I should have received and had not,the full amount was restored to my account with no further effort on my part.

We've been customers for 15+ years

We've been customers for 15+ years, and of late everyday banking has become unbearable. Forms, forms and more forms just to conduct normal tasks. Phone payments have now been cancelled and despite notifying them of our wish to remove account limits 2 months in advance, that was not implemented (because another form hasn't been completed!) preventing us from making important business payments by a deadline. There is no personal touch, in fact staff have been outright rude as well as being unhelpful. Triodos need to refocus their priorities. Avoid!

No hidden nasties

The world is an increasingly complicated place. Trying to be an ethical consumer is tough when lots of companies greenwash their credentials.
I had been wanting to change my bank for a few years now. Despite being with one of the major financial institutions in the UK I was becoming more and more uneasy on how my money was being invested.
After extensive research I decided to switch to Triodos (it was easy to set up an account) and haven't looked back. Customers receive regular updates on the ethical projects the bank supports. No more worrying about whether my hard-earned money is used to fund wars or fossil fuels.
Unlike some other banks there is a £3 charge per month to be an account holder. It might seem anathema to directly give a bank £3 but the rewards so outweigh this fee which is under what you would pay to get a hot drink in a cafe.
For £3 you will be choosing a bank with an ethos of doing the least amount of harm to our planet.

A truly ethical bank ? Yes!

A truly ethical bank is not an oxymoron. It exists. A bank where the CEO does not have an obscene salary or expect a ridiculous bonus. I opened my accounts with Triodos 5 years ago and never regretted it. Triodos Bank You are the best!

Genuinely ethical banking

There is work to do to make the digital services and app features compete with other banks like Starling but they are much better than other large companies (like Amex for example) and obviously the products are trustworthy and ethical which is why I chose to save and invest with Triodos. So far I haven’t been disappointed.

Wonderful ethical bank and easy to switch

Wonderful bank and easy to switch. We have now been with Triodos over and year - and seen the adoption of Apply Pay, which was smooth. It's a pleasure to know that our money is being held for good purposes and we are not supporting arms or other nasty uses.
