Oh, No

Oh, no. Does Travelex have a monopoly on currency exchange services in FRA Frankfurt International Airport? All I see are Travelex kiosks and ATMs in the B Concourse. Anyway, the internet right now says 100 USD converts to 85 EURO, but the Travelex kiosk offered only 66 EURO for my 100 USD. I hope others have better experiences.

I will wait and do the exchange outside the airport at a regular bank or ATM.

Rip off exchange rate!

Please be aware and avoid as they charge extremely inflated exchange rate marked up with fees, this should be illegal but apparently it is not. Unethical company that is not transparent!!

One of the worst and most disappointing…

One of the worst and most disappointing experiences I’ve ever had at an airport. The currency exchange at Frankfurt Airport is a complete scam. The rates are shockingly bad, far worse than anywhere else — a clear attempt to rip off travelers who may not know better.

There is no warning, no transparency, and no shame. The staff don’t explain the charges, and once the transaction is done, there’s no way to undo it. They take advantage of people in a hurry, and the losses can be significant.

This company operates like a trap for tourists. It’s dishonest, unethical, and leaves a bad impression of the airport itself.

Future travelers: do NOT go here. Walk away and exchange your money elsewhere. This place is a rip-off — avoid it at all cos

Travelex Ripoff fees

Shit show! I went to the airport in Berlin to get tax free reimbursement. I had to receipts, one for 7 EUR refund another for 13 EUR refund. Travelex representative Sabrina processed them separately and charged 3 EUR fee on the 7 EUR receipt and 4 EUR fee on the 13 EUR receipt. So in the end our of 19% tax I was supposed to save (41 EUR), I got 13 EUR!!!! The rest ended in the pockets of Travelex and Global Blue!!! Isn't this amazing business model?

Very bad service at Hamburg airport

Very bad service at Hamburg airport, I was doing tax refund and the employee is forcing people that she will take for each receipt 5-6 Euro and she will give the refund in US dollar to sell you the dollar with high price of around 1.40 .. when I told here return one receipt only in cash and I will drop the rest in the box to get the refund by the credit card she told me the system is not working now and you can drop all in the box.
Very bad service and it’s a big scam.

This place is a scam

This place is a scam. They refused to refund our money, claiming the system wasn’t workingat the airport! but of course, it only “didn’t work” for people of a specific nationality. A clear way to steal your money.

Our Cedit-Card was just gone…

The ATM at Cairns Airport took our Credit-Card caused by a system failure of the ATM and no one could help us to get it back!
The service hotline told us this absolutely impossible and the Card will be kept and maybe send back overseas to our bank there.
So our Card was just gone and we were left there without and money at all and no Card anymore… but with a nice case number… It was a nightmare and the worst possible service and Situation.
We canceled the Card asap!!!

Absolute robbery!

Absolute robbery!!
Got 501,75 Euros converted into 350 British pounds at Frankfurt Airport for a conversion fee of 12,99 Euros. Only came to realise that I got a Convertion rate of 14 cents lower that today's set rate for 1 Euro to get 64 pounds fewer than supposed (after the conversion fees).. don't recommend!!

AVOID TRAVELEX - They are thieves

I was in transit through Frankfurt Airport and used Travelex to change some riyals to USD. I was in shock when I got home to realize Travelex had converted the riyals to Euros then to USD which meant I lost over USD$900 in the transaction. I know airport exchanges don't give great rates, but this is legal robbery. That's 30% of my salary gone.....34 hours of overtime gone. I will spend the rest of my life getting the word out!
