Safari experts & storytellers. Since 1991. We craft experiential African safaris just for you, with love. Our crew of passionate safari experts have lived and worked in Africa for most of their lives. Travel in Africa is about knowing what, when and where to go and with whom – for the ultimate safari experience. A few weeks too early/late or a few kilometres off course, and you could miss the Greatest Show on Earth. And wouldn’t that be a pity? We also publish inspirational, factual conservation articles. We believe storytelling plays a pivotal role in education and in creating a more responsible future of travel within the conservation landscape. We seek to minimise the negative environmental and social impacts of travel while maximising its positive impacts. These articles keep our readers informed and inspired to join us in celebrating Africa and doing good. Over sixteen million people in the last decade have read our stories that reflect the complexity and reality of life at ground level here in Africa. And, we generate significant donations for selected conservation projects that deliver impact at the ground level. We choose each project carefully based on our assessment of its contribution to biodiversity and rural people living amongst wildlife.

Africa Geographic through Stef (and his team) did a great job of putting together an itinerary that suited our needs. Stef definitely went the extra mile to ensure that the planning was spot on. We stayed suitable locations for our stopover, safari and Vic Falls experiences. The flights and connecting transfers went off without a hitch. Insider knowledge was invaluable. The follow through enhanced by the travel app was excellent. Love the fact that part of the proceeds goes towards nature conservation.

I cannot imagine a better way to customize a trip to Africa than with Africa Geographic. Dave listened to what we hoped to accomplish and patiently went back and forth with suggestions and itineraries until it was perfect.
Our trip to Tanzania and Kenya exceeded all of our expectations. The transfers all went smoothly and our guides were exceptional.
I wish I could give 10 stars.

We had a magnificent African Primates tour. Thank you Africa Geographic for putting it together and postponing all the bookings to a later date when an unforeseen medical emergency occurred on our side.
As expected the gorilla trekking and Nyungwe forest was a highlight but unexpectedly the Rwandan country side, culture and society turned out to be just as fascinating. We learnt so much. Thank you to our excellent driver and guardian, Gaston, who enhanced our experience through sharing and answering all our questions.
I am so glad we did not do a 3 day In-Gorilla-Trek-Kiwu-Lake-and-Out tour. We would have missed out on appreciating the magnificent country that Rwandans have fashioned out of the tragedy of the 1994 genocide.
We have one regret: that we did not buy lots more of the excellent Rwandan coffee and tea to bring home

I’ve just got home from my third travel experience planned with Africa Geographic which included my 5th art safari with Alison Nicholls. The first two comprised of two back-to back art safaris and this trip was a few days in Victoria Falls followed by the art safari at Bomani Tented Lodge, Hwange, Zimbabwe.
Christian booked my activities in Victoria Falls, arranged transfers to and from the airport and the activities which allowed me to focus on enjoying my time there without having to figure out how to get from A to B to C. There was a minor hiccup with my transfer to the hotel on arrival which was resolved. Christian followed up with the hotel because they forgot to collect me even though Christian had confirmed arrangements that morning. I received an apology bottle of JC Leroux sparkling wine from the hotel (turns out it is my favourite sparkling wine – thanks Christian) and was looked after extremely well for the remainder of my stay in Vic Falls.
The art safari was wonderful and I have only good things to say about the thought that went into planning this one. Africa Geographic donates a portion of the revenue from each safari to selected conservation projects and our group got to see first hand how our donated portion was put to use and how far reaching the impact will be. Visiting the Painted Dog Conservation Centre and the Community Rhino Conservation Initiative were highlights.
Alison Nicolls is very experienced in guiding these small-group art safaris and I always leave with more knowledge about animal anatomy and improved sketching and watercolour skills. I really appreciate her constructive and helpful feedback while sketching from the game drive vehicle or during the mid-day workshops back at the lodge. In between the (serious work of) sketching or painting, there’s plenty of time for laughter and great conversations.
Brendan, our guide at Bomani Tented Lodge was excellent and shared his knowledge about the area, people, animals, insects and plants with us. He was attentive to the needs of sketchers and ensured we had plenty of time to sketch (although not all animals are willing subjects). We had some incredible sightings, experiences and sketching opportunities.
I’ve already booked my next art safari for 2026 in the Okavango Delta, Botswana and am looking forward to another exciting sketching adventure with Alison and Africa Geographic.

What a fabulous time we had in South Africa booked seamlessly through Ro and Linda at Africa Geographic company.
Our trip was to Madiwke national park where we stayed for 3 nights. The lodge was very welcoming, beautiful place to stay within the park and the food was so varied and delicious. The game drives exceeded our expectations and we have many photos of it and got close up views of the animals. A shout out to our safari guide Ashley who shared all his knowledge of the animals and he was a real polite gentleman. And of course to Heidi, the lodge manager who had a lovely birthday cake for me on my 60th birthday.
Our internal flights to get to Cape town ran very smoothly and we were then picked up punctually and stayed at the Queen Victoria hotel in Cape Town for 3 nights. What a lovely place! We visited all the "to do" sites there including Table mountain, Boulders beach and Robben Island. A big thank you to Lloyd, whom we booked for 1 day to drive us around the town, through AG.
All in all, a fabulous itinerary made to our liking. Thank you AG and I would highly recommend them..

I have been travelling to Africa since 2002. I discovered Africa Geographic and the Art Safaris with Alison Nicholls in 2017. I have been using AG to plan my trips ever since.
I have now attended 7 Art Safaris with Alison and 2 Photography Safaris with Ernest Porter as well as visiting Madagascar twice, Sterkfontein/the Cradle of Mankind and a tour of Johannesburg including Soweto. These were all organised through Christian and AG.
Christian and his team have always been extremely helpful in making suggestions when I have been uncertain about my options.
This trip I had missed a transfer and subsequent tour of Victoria Falls because of transport delays (TIA 😁). When I rang Christian he was able to change my tour for the following morning.
I always recommend AG to anyone interested in travelling to Africa.

Before starting to plan this trip, I had no knowledge about travel to Africa, or agencies to help me plan a trip. We had a group of 11 from various areas of the US. Christian put together an itinerary that exactly matched what we requested and made it super easy to plan and execute our trip. Their planning and attention to detail allowed us to have a spectacular experience. We knew in advance all of the details necessary to have a stress free trip. The accommodations were excellent, the food was great and it was more that I eat on most days. The staff at every lodge left no stone unturned in their efforts to make our stay remarkable. I can not use enough superlatives to describe our two main guides Jeremiah and Christopher. They are both very experienced, knowledgeable and personable. We definitely made two new friends. I will certainly book again with AG and Christian if I travel to Africa again.

Exceeded all expectations! Great communication and organization of the itinerary. Gave us two very experienced and personable guides. Lodging met all our requirements. All transfers and pick ups were right on time, seamless and worry free. Hundreds of great photo memories! Enjoyed learning about the history, culture and customs from our guides as well as exploring and experiencing the vast wilderness and seeing all the wildlife!

Well planned. Great guide and transportation. Excellent accommodations.

As always I had a great guide, which with birding especially makes a huge difference.
The transport and accommodation was luxurious and more than I needed. Especially Koroi Forest lodge even of pricey, the setting makes that a price can not be put om this experience. Pity I could not stay longer.

Africa Geographic booked my company's trip to Zimbabwe and Botswana. Christian was very communicative, thorough and thoughtful. High praise goes to him and his team for stitching together all logistics seamlessly.

The 2 drivers were with us every day and were knowledgeable and good communicators. Their many years of experience and also skill in driving thru challenging rough terrain allowed us to get to great viewing spots at the right times. The food was abundant and very good quality. Overnight facilities were very good and usually had great views from the front door. The hospitality was excellent everywhere we went.

The organization of our trip to Congo Brazzaville, Odzala N.P. and Camp Imbalanga was exceptional and communication didn't seize after we were on our way.
Stephen and Wayne went out of their way to make sure that we would have a wonderful experience. We can only recommend organizing tours with the assistance of the trip advisors of Africa Geographic. A big plus is that a part of the money paid for the trip is utilized for the benefit of the community around the area visited.

Christian titled our itinerary "Botswana Magic: Desert, Bush and Water" and our trip lived up to this description! His thought and attention to making this a memorable holiday was commendable. Seamless transfers between small camps, no crowds, personal attention without feeling fussed over, meaningful and spiritual experiences only possible in Africa and some excellent sightings - African Wild Dogs, African Skimmers, Hyena den (with pups). We returned uplifted and restored. Thank you for a tailor-made safari holiday, AG.

My South African birthday was outstanding! I traveled from American to Cape Town & Kruger. I experienced a private VIP experience. The tour guide Darryl showed us the best sights in Cape Town and he knew the best time of day to do each activity. He was able to personalize the experience for us. We felt safe and considered. Safety and cleanliness was number one for me and this exceeded my expectations. I felt safe at every point I was in good hands. Benjamin was always available and communicating the next steps and he was there to answer any questions that I had in a very timely manner. Kruger National Park was amazing! The Lukimbi staff were amazing and we saw the most amazing experiences. Sipho & Conneth allowed us to safely see an entire lion hunt of buffalo. There was not a dull moment and we received great value for our money. The trip was once in a lifetime! Thank you!

I had the perfect guide (Mary Njeri) for my trip. She showed me all the big five and much more. The accommodations, the food and the very nice people throughout my visit. If you go to Kenya, ask for Mary and ask to stay with Caroline at The Stanley Hotel.

I wanted to go to the Congo Basin but it was difficult to find travel info. I made an enquiry to AG and the next day Stefan phoned me in Australia from South Africa. He understood exactly what I wanted and soon sent a proposed itinerary with no ties attached. Stef handled everything down to the smallest detail. When travelling I ran into difficulty with one of the airlines not allowing me to board my flight to Congo as I did not have a visa. I had a letter from Immigration explaining that the visa was paid for and waiting for me on my arrival. (There is no Congo embassy in the South Pacific region) The airline did not accept this. I had organised my own flights and yet when I phoned Stef (in the evening) he had no hesitation in assisting me. He contacted his colleagues in Congo who got onto the the local airline office, who then contacted the people I was dealing with to allow me onto to board. Needless to say this took some time and was quite stressful but Stef stayed with me the whole time, keeping me calm. Once I landed in Brazzaville I was taken care of right there in the airport and escorted to my hotel and it was plain sailing from there on. My trip was beyond belief. All the camps I went to were so nice. Imbalunga was amazing for the forest treks and the bai that is only a three minute walk from the camp and they actually serve breakfast at the viewing deck. I was lucky enough to see two different groups of gorillas and a troop of colobus monkeys. I went there a couple of times a day and sometimes there was very little or nothing but when the primates were there, they were there for hours. It was amazing. I then went to the Kamba camps. These camps are very nice. The quality of the accommodation and food is high and the staff are lovely. I went on two gorilla treks both were very different experiences. The first was adrenalin charged as there was a rouge silver back hanging around the group causing some drama. The second was a lot more chilled but very, very cute. Lots of young ones and one particularly cheeky blackback. My guides, Dylan and Ben were amazing and knowledgeable. They did everything within their power to make sure I saw the wild life without disturbing them. I saw more forest elephant than I ever imagined. I even saw some rare creatures be it ever so fleeting including, chimpanzee, bongo, and sitatunga antelope. There were times when there was no wildlife but it was just amazing to be in the forest or on the river. I have done quite a bit of travel but this was the best trip ever. Being in the forest is magical and you feel so dam healthy. I have been asked where I want to go next but the truth is ... I just want to go back. No disappointment's ... not one.

Ben from AG made this trip to Southern Africa seamless and fantastic. this was my wife's turn at a trip of a Lifetime and you delivered.
all the transfers and hotels were fantastic and allowed us the freedom on Garden Route to get to the places we wanted to go to. Needed a SA travel agent expertise for this and Ben delivered

Sally-Anne helped us plan a trip in the Okavango delta and did an excellent job at it. She listened carefully to our expectations and was able to offer an outstanding itinerary with a variety of landscapes and experiences which was within our budget. Her knowledge of the area added huge value to the planning process. The execution was flawless with very enjoyable camps, straightforward transfers between camps and we had a brilliant holiday. Would not hesitate to highly recommend.
