I started off with the in distance and moved to the in person

I started off with the in distance and I personally struggled because I am very much a visual learner. The tutors were very helpful online and were happy to answer all my questions and guide me. So I would recommend an in distance to anyone that feels it's suited to them. However as soon as I switched to the on person things clicked much quicker for me and was incredibly helpful. I had Ben as my in person teacher who was amazing. Very engaging and clear and detailed l, as well as very understanding. Rob was my in distance tutor who I spent many phonecalls with discussing topics and help guiding me with my LAP and any other queries. So it very much is down to you as a person and what is best suited for your learning. The money for the in person and in distance was very worth it.

As a learner, I’ve found the Trainfitness fitness courses to be really informative and well-structured. I’ve completed several of their courses, including the Level 4 qualification. One of the things I appreciate most is the Trainfitness app—it gives me easy access to all my course content anytime, which makes learning so much more flexible and convenient.

Friendly & Helpful

I've done a couple of courses with TRAINFITNESS and I always find them to be very friendly and helpful. The materials are well structured and very detailed, making it easy to follow along and stay on track. The tutor support is excellent too. Whenever I’ve had a question or needed clarification, someone has always been quick to respond with clear guidance. I also really like the flexibility of the study options, which made it easier to fit the course around my schedule. Overall, a great experience and I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking to get qualified in fitness.

I enjoyed the in-person days and Paul was clearly a very knowledgeable and experienced PT. Learner success were always super quick to respond to queries. The online learning materials were thorough and very helpful. The exercise videos are a great resource for ongoing learning.

T3 HIIT training day

I took the T3 HIIT training day as a seperate course whilst I was studying my gym level 2 with another provider! I was a little bit nervous about going along to do the course in person but Ben made me feel so welcome and so did the rest of the group that were completing this module as part of their PT level 3! Came away feeling much more confident in how to deliver HIIT sessions and loved the energy of the team/group on the day.

Top quality training

I originally signed up to do the course completely online/distant study and am so glad I upgraded to the online live classroom. Rob is a great tutor and made everything a lot less daunting. We had fun with it all and took out a lot of the guess work from what I would have been doing if I had of done it at home. Would highly recommend

Best of the Best with thanks to my incredible trainer Ben

Many of us have been on a course but if this course was on a scale of 1-100 would score a solid 1000000000! The main reason being Ben Wigzell, not only an incredibly knowledgeable trainer but also exceptionally engaging and not once made anyone feel like the questions asked where invalid or stupid. As someone with severe ADHD and dyslexia I have always struggled with the concept of study as to keep my brain engaged for a long period of time can often feel borderline impossible. But Ben made it possible, he made me feel listened to, made me feel capable and most importantly made me feel like I could pass with flying colours and leave with my head held high ready to take on the Personal Training industry (which I have)

Its not often you come across someone as passionate about there job as Ben, and it really shined through with his selfless care for the group and wanting us all to succeed. He always had time for every single person in class and didn't once make anyone feel like they could not approach him for help, not just in class but out of class too.

I would also like to shout out to Rose, one of the examiners who with her devotion to fitness and beautiful way with people made any feedback given unbelievably helpful and didn't leave you feeling disheartened. Her feed back after each assessment was so constructive and always backed up with ways to improve in a positive way that will help me and my group to implement in our personal training careers.

I would highly HIGHLY recommend this course and I'm jealous that anyone gets to spend 2 weeks with Ben as he is honestly the kindest, most knowledgeable and empathetic souls that anyone would be lucky to be trained by starting there PT career.

The structure of the course worked well for me with a good blend of written material, videos, and additional access to podcasts and exercise libraries made the whole journey exciting. Live-Virtual Studying is the way forward!

Happy with all the information provided in my Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer course - the lessons, videos and support are all excellent. The Live-Virtual aspect was a saviour me, helped to to keep on track and learn in a group setting from a fitness professional and work towards achieving the qualification with like-minded participants!

Not bad but I wish I'd gone with a different provider, but maybe I still wouldn't have been happy...

I first wrote this review after a highly stressful afternoon of the app not working with me taking the assessment the following day. I had wanted to run through the class a couple of times as I had a busy working day and little/no time to run through during the day before videoing my assessment in the evening. I have now been through and edited as I did have a very helpful conversation, however I did not want to remove it completely as I think it is important for anyone searching for reviews to have balanced reviews of experiences.

Throughout the course things are mentioned that it turns out are not available to me. I am on the distance learning option, it talked about signing up for a day to do in place of 20 hours practicum, this is not an option, the paperwork then mentions a DVD, this is also no longer an option. You can't sign up for an in person assessment. You have to use jump fx and blast fx for the assessment video, I thought I would have the opportunity to fully plan an ETM session but you have to adapt what they have done instead, there is ridiculous choreo that I would never include in a first class as it requires such incredible agility and fitness that new participants would be immediately put off. I have adapted as they recommend and hope that it will achievable for my participants. I am prepared to adapt further on the spot if it is needed. Perhaps this is my own fault though for not doing enough research before hand, there are videos on youtube which I recommend watching before signing up.
I have found the app problematic throughout and just over the weekend ahead of me videoing my assessment on the Monday the app stopped working. You have to be logged in to be able to access the music. It is not possible to download the music to your phone so that you can access it without the app, it is also not available from a computer. This caused a lot of stress as I thought I was going to have to cancel the recording and then rearrange for a space to complete the assessment and find 6 people who would be able and willing to take part. I also had problems back in March when I was ready to complete my final online theory assessment but the most recent android update had caused an issue with the app (apparently this was an issue with multiple apps, not just Train Fitness) which then took 2 days to fix. So, having been ready to take the assessment, due to having to use the app to take the assessment and there not being any other options, I had to wait to take it. This is not ideal when completing distance learning and trying to fit it all around a job and other demands of life. You expect to be able to complete tasks during planned time.
I did have a phonecall today after I reported the issues, they were interested to get some feedback from me and to pass it to the developers and then I had a great chat with Steel (sp?) about my assessment ahead of recording. I was concerned that if I wasn't able to record that I would miss my deadline for the course but he has provided reassurance with this area.
I also took the opportunity to highlight to them some of things that annoyed me in the learning theory part of the course. There are multiple grammar/spelling issues throughout the learning which I found jarring and had to reread sentences/paragraphs and, worse yet, full paragraphs of text are repeated in images. You then reread the same information in case there are any differences (there weren't). The proof reading left a lot to be desired!

Positives:
-Distance learning allows learning at your own pace and to fit around your life.
-Helpful customer service on occasions when I have spoken with them.
-Assessments are taken at home in your own time and there are practice tests available for you so you only take the assessment when you are ready.
-They were interested in feedback rather than being dismissive which is positive.

Negatives:
-Statements about options available to you aren't actually available any longer but the information hasn't been updated to reflect this.
-Grammatical/spelling errors.
-The choreography that you need to base your lesson on is very intense and while you are expected to make adjustments it does not feel like the sort of class you want to be filming for the first time your attendees are taking part in it. (Incidentally there are also several errors throughout the provided choreography notes with incorrect reps and incorrect number of repeats of a set of exercises).
-App is unreliable
-You have to watch the videos for the choreography on your phone as it is not available on the web based login which is pretty frustrating.
-You are only able to download the music to the app, not anywhere else which means if the app isn't working you can't access the music.

Gym Instructor & PT Courses

Our instructor made it an informative, interesting and even fun at times 2 weeks. The course was delivered with enthusiasm, everything we needed to know and do was explained in detail that wasn't overly complex and easy to implement. My confidence in myself wasn't very high going into the courses, I was very unsure how I would get on but I was worrying unnecessarily. I have enjoyed the courses and would thoroughly recommend them.

Great course!

I’m currently taking the PT Specialist Diploma in Women’s Health (In-Person) and the experience has exceeded expectations. The in-person sessions are engaging and enjoyable, and the online material is very detailed— a resource I’ll continue using long after the course ends. Ben (the main instructor) is a fantastic coach and teacher, and the support from the learner success team has been outstanding over the phone.

While my Level 2 course experience wasn’t as strong as the Level 3 due to a different instructor (Ben only joined at the end), I believe that was an exception rather than the norm. This is the only reason this isn't a 5-star review!

I’d highly recommend the in-person option with Train Fitness to anyone considering a PT qualification.

Poor Customer Service & Technical Issues

I recently completed an Exercise to Music course with TrainFitness as a remote learner, and unfortunately, my experience was largely negative due to poor customer service and unresolved technical problems.

The main issue I encountered was with their learner support, specifically a team member named Radek. Every single time I called for assistance, I was connected to him only. I found his manner to be consistently rude, blunt, dismissive, and unsympathetic. As someone who is head of customer relations as a job title myself, I was genuinely shocked by how I was spoken to – it’s simply not acceptable.

I also experienced significant problems with their app, which at one point completely logged me out and displayed a message saying I had no courses assigned. This happened outside of office hours, during a time I had specifically set aside (5 hours) to rehearse. I sent screen recordings showing the issue via email to their complaints department, but the only response I received was a one-week extension, which was not sufficient considering my demanding 50-hour work week. I was also told there had been no system issues that evening and TrainFitness began to blame this on signal issues however the attempts to log in were done on a mobile phone and laptop with Wifi and without, meanwhile still showing the message 'you have no courses available' – despite the clear video evidence I had submitted.

To make matters worse, the same technical issue occurred again during my final practical video assessment – the app logged me out mid-routine, and I had to complete my final track in silence, without access to their music. While it didn’t affect my mark, it added a huge amount of unnecessary stress, and once again, no apology was offered.

From my experience and reading other reviews, TrainFitness seems far more interested in deflecting responsibility than genuinely supporting learners. This review is here to share my personal experience and hopefully provide some insight for anyone considering their courses.

Reply from TRAINFITNESS

Congratulations on completing your Exercise to Music course, Chloe. We’re pleased you achieved your qualification and grateful for the positive comments you shared with us previously, including:

· “I cannot thank the tutor enough for the support given.”

· “I do appreciate the efforts made to arrange support outside of normal working hours.”

· “I am grateful for the additional time granted as a goodwill gesture.”

You contacted us requesting “extra support” on 3rd March—just three days before your course deadline. We initially offered a call within our standard hours but you advised that you worked from 7.30am to 6pm and were unavailable. When we suggested your lunch break, you said you “only have half an hour” and requested a call outside our office hours.

To support you, we confirmed in writing that a tutor would call you after 6pm that same evening, in line with your statement that you were available from that time onward. When the tutor called at approximately 6:15pm, you were unavailable, stating that you were dining at a restaurant. The following evening, a tutor contacted you again at approx. 7.30pm but once more you were unavailable. Despite this, we arranged another tutor call the following day — your final day on the course — followed by a further call that evening at 7pm.

You later acknowledged that you “take responsibility for [your] time management” and would “ensure that [you] manage [your] time effectively” in future.

In your review, you target a particular team member, stating, “Every single time I called for assistance, I was connected to him only.” This statement is also inaccurate: you spoke with four team members. The staff member you described as “consistently rude, blunt, dismissive and unsympathetic” was in fact the same person who personally arranged your after-hours tutor support and made repeated efforts to accommodate your circumstances. Your characterisations do not align with the support you received, which included flexible scheduling, repeated contact attempts and after-hours assistance—all of which demonstrate empathy, flexibility and a clear commitment to helping you complete your course.

Regarding the technical issue you mentioned, our system logs confirmed there were no platform outages at that time. While we understand how frustrating it can be to experience access difficulties, connectivity issues can arise with any device due to factors like local network disruptions, device settings, or internet provider errors. When faults do occur on our side, we take full responsibility. For instance, a recent Android operating system update caused a widely reported compatibility issue that affected many apps, including certain features of ours. We identified the problem quickly and released an update to restore full functionality. In your case, the issue was not caused by our system, but we still extended your course by a full week—far exceeding the five hours of study you said were impacted. This was offered as another goodwill gesture to support your completion of the course.

You also stated that the same technical issue disrupted your final assessment submission; however, your final practical was successfully marked and your result was unaffected. While we appreciate how disruptive technical problems can feel, we found no fault in our system.

Accusations of deflecting responsibility are simply not supported by the facts. We investigated your concerns thoroughly — reviewing system data, communications and call recordings, and arranging additional tutor support and extended course access. We responded fully and transparently, offering assistance even when the facts showed no failure on our part. At the time, you expressed appreciation for the time we took to investigate and the explanation we provided.

We remain proud of the support provided and stand by the professionalism of our team. We’re pleased you were able to complete your course successfully and wish you well in your fitness career.

Amazing experience - Life changing!

Recently finished the Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification, and the entire experience was incredible. The course is very well structured and really easy to follow, especially if you have a tutor like I had… Ben. As someone whose confidence has been rock bottom for some time, Ben made me feel welcome and looked after us all as though we were a big family. Giving us all the support imaginable and making our learning experience so fun and enjoyable, every day his energy was infectious. My confidence grew tenfold during this experience, and felt like I learned even more than what I was supposed to because of Ben’s wisdom. The assessor’s were all lovely too and full of knowledge to help you grow. My entire experience with Train Fitness has been first class and if you’re thinking of taking the jump into this industry this company is the one for you, oozing class from top to bottom… a perfect starting point to set you up for a long successful career!

Amazing Experience and Forever Grateful

Amazing experience completing my Personal Training qualifications starting from scratch with the Level 2 onto the Level 3 and finally a couple of Level 4 qualifications through the Strength & Conditioning Master diploma.
Due to work commitments, I did it via distance study.
The tutors are a credit to the organisation with how well and how much they supported me through the journey.
Forever grateful
