Ordered a bottle online, they took the money but never sent the bottle, status is stuck on Progressing. I tried to contact the sales team but no answer. HUGE SCAM!

Good wine, good customer service
I get the monthly two bottles of wine which are invariably interesting and of high quality. The monthly live tasting (which is also available after the event) and the accompanying note card are very educational and help me appreciate the wine more. As a few people have said already, the delivery is occasionally unpredictable, but I don't know if that's the fault of Wine List or DPD, but it is always remedied by the excellent customer service.

Good customer service
Good customer service, but I did have the same experience as other reviewers in that I ordered a trial box and was then charged for the next month without even having received the trial one. A replacement trial was subsequently sent out as it had apparently got lost in the post but I don’t normally have issues with post going missing and it is interesting to see others have had the same issue.
However they were very friendly and very quick to refund and it is easy to cancel a subscription online.
The ‘glass’ in the by the glass subscription is only 100ml - I couldn’t find this specified anywhere on the site. £19/ month for 300ml wine seems a bit steep to me but possibly I am a philistine.

"by the glass"…
I am doing the "by the glass" subscription. I think the company have a great idea here. I enjoy learning a little bit about wine each month in the comfort of my own home and trying some more expensive wines that I wouldn't necessarily find in the supermarket.
My second month was significantly delayed but they responded quickly to my email offering a discount off my next month and a voucher from their wine shop. So I'm happy!
This business is a start up so some teething problems are to be expected. I'm sure it will be 5* worthy in the near future!

Excellent wine supply
Excellent wine supply, with great customer service. Some delays / lumpy supply, but otherwise really good product at great value.

Endless delays and confusion
I ordered a trial box on 20th June. I got an email saying I'd receive notification when the box was on its way but that, if I'd ordered after the 20th, it would be sent the following month. Since I'd ordered ON the 20th, I wasn't sure what this meant, but as time went on and I didn't receive any dispatch notification or the box, I figured it would be sent in July.
On 30th June, I was charged the full amount for another box. So I hadn't received anything at all at this point but it had already been decided for me I was definitely going to be continuing. Even if I had received the trial box, there really wouldn't have been enough time to consider it properly before being charged for another month.
In July, emails started coming through about delays to the July box. As I understand it, as of today's date (the 25th), half of customers have received their boxes and half haven't. They, incidentally, send a LOT of emails, most of which are just plain text and don't really look like they're coming from a company. In just over a month, I’ve received a total of 26 emails from them.
On 10th July, I contacted customer services. They replied on the 12th, saying they'd sent the trial box out on the 21st and that, yes, they bill on the 30th of every month. They would send another trial box out and cancel the July box. The tone was friendly and helpful, and I did get the refund.
That same day (the 12th) I finally received a box. There wasn't a postage date on it and nothing to suggest it had been delayed in any way so I assumed they'd sent it out on the 10th when they'd got my email but I wasn't sure.
I wasn't very impressed with the presentation. It was just three pouches of wine and a few paper inserts put directly into the postage box. I like to send subscription boxes as presents but I wouldn't send this one as it just doesn't look "special".
The wines are small, around 100ml. I must say I was rather underwhelmed by them. I guess the fact that I was thoroughly annoyed at that point might have influenced me or maybe I just wasn't able to appreciate them. I read the information about tasting and tried to fill the cards in as best I could. I didn't expect to do particularly well but there was a completed card for the white wine in one of the brochures and, apart from the finish, which I got completely wrong, I was actually more or less right. The other answers were apparently "on the website". It would have been much better to have just provided them in the box in my view.
I went onto the website but couldn't find the answers. The website is slow and clunky. Every time you want to sign into your account you need a one-time code. I saw "Box 1 July" and there were two wines shown, neither of which were in my trial box. There was the first "lesson", which was a 2-minute video. It seemed the end of the experience at this point which was obviously rather disappointing.
On the 13th, I received a dispatch confirmation. I wasn't sure if this was another box or the one I'd received on the 12th. This email contained more information including tasting notes for all the wines. There were also links to "tasting card answers" but when you clicked on "read our full card breakdown" all the values were just set to a kind of default. I mean the black dots all appear on the far left for every characteristic for every wine - and there's no aroma profile at all. If you scroll down, this card breakdown section just disappears altogether. You can get some information from "first impressions" but it's still not clear how to complete the cards. So I'm still none the wiser really about the two red wines.
Another box arrived on the 16th so there was another sent out. I wonder why the dispatch confirmation and all the information it contained wasn't sent out for the first box and why that arrived on the 12th.
This box was slightly different with a bit of brown shredded corrugated paper and it contained tasting notes for the two red wines which hadn't been included before but I still couldn't access the "answers" online and see how to fill in the cards. On the 23rd there was an email about scanning the QR codes on the taste cards to check your answers but there're no QR codes on the taste cards.
All in all I feel it's just been utterly confusing. I wanted to be able to check my answers and see what I'd missed but I don't feel I've particularly learnt anything at all. I am keen to learn more about wine and I wanted to like this, but this kind of experience is just pointless.

A very lovely company
A very lovely company. Customer service is excellent and the wines are delicious. For times when money is tight, the regular newsletter very generously gives excellent suggestions for cheaper but good wines from supermarkets. We have found these extremely reliable and helpful.

People who genuinely care about wines and have an interest to find the unusual.
On the other side great comments on the more affordable quality wines available in supermarkets

Amazing wine, I’ve learnt so much!
I’ve been subscribed to the wine list for over a year. Each time the box arrives I don’t waste any time opening it up and seeing what I will be trying.
I love the variety of wines you get and it has certainly opened my eyes to regions I wouldn’t normally consider buying from. We have on occasion reordered wine that we loved directly from the wine list.
For anyone who wants to learn more about wine or just wants to guarantee every month they will get a great selection of wine I’d highly recommend you sign up.
Surprisingly, I’ve found that overall I probably drink less alcohol than before as I prefer drinking wine from the wine list as opposed to other alcoholic beverages.

Top notch
Excellent team, wonderful product (the wines, and the wine tasting course) - it’s opened up a whole new world of wine to me. Josh and the tiny team at Wine List move mountains - in extraordinary circumstances - to get the wine to you. Honestly the single best customer experience I’ve ever had. Love these guys, wishing them success in this great company.

I love these people and all their wine things
Josh & co. are running a fine ship full of good people with solid products and evolving service offerings. I really like the By The Glass box subscription: I get to taste wines before I commit without the risk of becoming a Lockdown Drinker. I've had a few shipping problems, and a few quick emails with the support team cleared most things up (we're still trying to sort one more issue out, and I think we're on a good track for that). The Wine List are a flexible, knowledgeable, compassionate lot who know their wines and have really interesting supply connections. And for the love of compassion, check out their reviews of supermarket wines, so helpful!

Good communication and good wine
The trial box I ordered didn’t arrive after a while, so I contacted The Wine List. They sent a new box immediately and reduced £5 from my next subscription bill as a sorry. Very prompt reply and good communication. Also most importantly, I liked the wines I received! I have to say I had a little doubt about the quality but they were hidden but good value wines as they advertise.

Love this business
I joined winelist back in the beginning of lockdown as I've always been interested in wine. Great information and wines.
We had a broken box. A fresh one was sent out immediately. And no hassle.
I had to cancel due to job issues. Quick and easy and managed to sign up to the glass option for the wine tasting.
It's a great growing business and always so helpful.

Really quick delivery and excellent service, we had a great evening trying the different (delicious) wines and learning all about the vineyards and the winemakers.
Don't miss out on a wonderful opportunity to learn more about wine - and have fun doing it. Thanks Wine List!
