The Luxury Pergola Reviews 

I'm a very satisfied customer. The owners are very honest and will work with you on scheduling as needed. They are continuously adding or improving their product. I bought the 12 x12 White Aluminum kit with post base covers, contemporary crown molding, and a center beam. So here's my breakdown:

COMMUNICATION: 5 Stars From my first phone call inquiry in late January to the info on the drivers bringing it out in mid June, communication with the supplier was great.

SHIPPING: 5 Stars It arrived in 2 days from IN to CA, yes, the dedicated driver team stopped on Saturday 6/19 to deliver a kit in Colorado, then delivered my kit at noon on Sunday (Father's Day). The drivers helped me unload it and place it in my garage, about 20 feet from the street. All packages (19) were in excellent condition, no rips/tears/dented cartons. 12 LONG cartons taking 2 men to handle, 7 other lighter cartons.

PACKAGING: 5 Stars The long cartons all had heavy corner protectors, and strong banding. Each was labeled with the contents, so I could stack them in the order I would need them. I have no suggested improvements to the packaging.
I took Monday and Tuesday to unpack and do layout on my patio, as my preferred helper was unavailable until Wednesday. I also drilled out the (4) 3" holes in my center beam, moved all the patio chairs out of the way and set up the 2 tables as workbenches (each could hold 5 louvres when it came time to assemble them).
My location was very daunting, as it is adjacent to my pool on 2 sides, and is raised 6" above the adjacent walkways, making ladder placement very challenging. We bolted down the first pole and found that (in my situation) the approach to building it from the top down just couldn't happen. So I precisely laid out all 4 pole bases, shimmed and plumbed and squared and put 2 of the 4 bolts in each pole. Then we could put pressure on the pole tops and lean ladders against them without falling into the pool.

ANCHORS -1 Star: The kit is shipped with Simpson Titen 3/8" x 3" plated anchors (not galvanized or stainless steel). I had already bought Red Head Stainless Steel 1/2" x 5" Tapcons (SLDTs), as I know what corrosive salt ocean air does to plated metal. Simpson makes Stainless Steel Titen anchors, and I will suggest to Brendan that they switch to them. The plated Titens are only approved for indoor applications or temporary outdoor use--I plan on the Pergola lasting a long time.

FIT AND FINISH: 5 stars. The posts, horizontal beams, connector posts and plates were all very accurate. It went together exactly like shown in the various videos, there were small gaps between the crown moulding corners and long pieces, but they supplied plenty of Novaflex Sealant/Adhesive, so I could fill in all the cracks/gaps.

FINISHED PRODUCT: 5 stars. The new pergola is beautiful, the louvres open and close perfectly, and it debuted at our Fourth of July BBQ and swim party, where received over a dozen very positive compliments. It gives us much better shade than our old dual 6-1/2’ x 10’ Umbrellas, and I believe it will last decades as it is so well built.

POST BASE COVERS: 3 stars: There were a least 1 welded corner that came apart during installation on 3, and on one of the covers 3 of the 4 corners separated. I had to use metal rated epoxy and straps to glue them back together. In the video they show the covers sliding down the posts easily but they were way too tight, and we slid them up from the bottom of before screwing the post to the stainless steel mounting feet.

That’s really my only criticism, the anchors and the post base cover corner failures. I like the pergola so much that I am investigating removing my 20 year old tattered retractable owning and installing a 10’ x 16’ kit to replace it.

All ways answer the phone with a live person, or call right back if they miss a call. Know their pergolas from top to bottom and inside out. Can answer any question you have. And help with any problems. I picked up my pergola at their Noblesville In. operation truly a family business, because I met the whole family. Great unit ,assembly videos the best. Truly a solid pergola. Very happy that I got hosed by first pergola company I ordered from because I then found The Luxury Pergola. Keep up the great work. Ordered pergola in February 2023 and just ordered sun screens in June 2023

The pergola is well made and has better wind and snow ratings than any other product we could find on the market... and at a reasonable price. Assembly took some time but was straightforward. Customer communications were excellent, and their follow-up has been good as well. A family owned company that is working to make the purchase and assembly of a quality pergola easy and affordable.

We're very pleased with our 12 X 12 and 16 X 12 pergolas that we purchased from The Luxury Pergola. Time between order and delivery went as planned. I was able to get additional dimensional info to help us prepare the area before installation. The installation videos helped a lot, and when we had additional questions, the responses were quick and helpful. My wife and I did most of the installation ourselves, but did bring in a third person during the critical structure assembly. Use three people as they recommend, and borrow additional 8-9 ft ladders, so you have one for each person. We found two ladders worked best for louver install. The remote control and receiver system is working for us at over 70 feet, which is impressive - but that allowed us to put the gray boxes well out of sight. We definately make use of the adjustable louvered roof. Our yard now has a very sturdy and modern set of pergolas replacing an old patio cover. We aren't usually the trend setters in the neighborhood, but we think with these we are.

This pergola is absolutely amazing. I had high expectations but the quality of this pergola blew them all out of the water.
The customer service was fantastic. We’ve never gotten anything that’s “DIY” that lives up to these standards.
