An honest feedback!

I have not really spent too much time on the training offered by Blogpress; however, the time that I did spend I felt there were repetitive screens popping up every now and then and thus, confusing me. I prefer going in an orderly manner with minimum screens for distraction.

I'm a little confused by your review and would like to see if we can get some clarification... Our training does not have "pop-up screens" - can you please tell me a little more about what you're seeing so that we can get that straightened out for you?

There is a Welcome message that pops up the first time you log in to your account to help you get started, but that only shows up the first time you log in. It may be possible that you have cookies disabled in your browser. We rely on a stored cookie to know that you've logged in before. This is my guess to what's going on if you keep seeing that message over and over.

Please tell me more so that we can help get it sorted out for you. :)

Really Bad customer service

Really Bad customer service. Cancelled my account but they continued to take out. Owner does not want to refund money to accounts that have been closed and ones they owe money to. They also enjoy taking out more than one payment per month. Like kind of slipping that in hoping you don't notice it. So you have been warned. STAY AWAY!!!!! The company also stated an absolute lie when they commented and stated that I use foul and attacking language. Now that is desperate on their part. What company fabricates a lie about customers? THIS ONE! I never used foul language one time in my post but I was to the point. Isn't it strange that you do not offer customers a way to contact other than just email. You have no customer service experience at all and it really shows in how you treat others. Its amazing how you are labeled when you disagree with others. I am actually laughing about them saying I used abusive language. Good thing you do own your company. You cannot take criticism. I even read on this site they were reviewing my review to see if it meets their terms. You asked for reviews and you got one that was honest. Please show me anywhere where I used foul an attacking language. You can't because I did not! It is sad for a company to lie on customers and it really shows there character. I

As I've stated many times via our support system.

I'm not seeing a cancellation request in our system. How did you attempt to contact us? I will be happy to honor that request even if you sent the request to the wrong email address. I just need some sort of documentation that it happened - if you could find that email or support message, it would be very helpful.

In the meantime, I've canceled your account so that you won't get billed again.

If the regular payment fails on the scheduled date, it will be retried a few more times over a period of a few weeks. Your scheduled billing date is on the 18th of each month. It does look like the March payment for $14.95 failed a few times - that's why it came out on the 3rd. We then billed your account as scheduled for $14.95 on April 18th.

There is no scam here. Your account was canceled the same day we received your request on April 20th and you will not be billed again.

You signed up for a subscription service.
You were billed on a monthly interval as agreed.
You requested cancellation and your account was canceled.

The BlogPress terms clearly say that you will be billed each month until you cancel - this is reiterated on your receipt. The terms also very clearly say that there are no refunds after the 14-day trial period and that you are responsible for all charges until you cancel.

Everything is very clear and in black and white. There is no deception or intent to deceive.

I proudly stand by the service and the character of this company.

So far it has bean a very positive experience. The pricing was affordable. I really like getting all of the information and tips and having customer service readily available especially because this is my first blog.

Thanks for the review. I'm not certain which formatting you are referring to, but in general, you have full control over the text formatting in the editor, and then each theme provides a certain amount of customizations - this is controlled by the theme itself.

Magic Owl Review

Here's the thing. BlogPress is incredible. They've gone above and beyond in helping us with incredible instruction, excellent customer service and most importantly encouragement. Good, but not 100% user friendly

I did a decent amount of research when I decided to start a blog, and there were some very good things said about BlogPress that swayed me to utilize them. I needed someone who could do all the technical stuff behind the scenes because I have zero knowledge of that, nor did I want to learn all of that. So I'm happy with that part. But there's a certain amount of confusing content or lack of content in their help sections. Some of the content criss crosses over one another, and you can't truly find the answer you want without pinging them for live help. And that's ok. I'm also pretty "old school", so I've seen a good deal of typos all throughout their website and in their typed conversation help too, and that just looks and seems unprofessional as if nobody is proficient in typing and/or they don't self edit themselves. Which seems odd given that websites and blogging is all about typing on the one hand. It makes you question that as a business, as a company they don't exhibit professionalism, so it makes you wonder if they are offhandedly rushing through their work day without taking enough care in their work, or if they don't truly know what they're doing. And to market themselves as such a great help to those who don't know the first thing about computers, well, they leave out a certain portion of explaining the differences between host, and provider, etc. I'm still not certain what BlogPress is when it comes to words. Are they my interface?? My blog host provider? And I bought my domain through BlogPress Domains and yet they aren't my domain provider or email provider or something. I don't know. Like I said, it's confusing. Apparently GoDaddy is my email provider? I really don't understand the semantics of it all. They could do a better job of starting at square 1 and really explaining all of this in layman's terms.

Yes, we are are guilty of pushing out help content as soon as possible and that may result in a typo here and there. I will make sure that our content team is aware of this and strive to do better in the future. :)

We do also assume a certain level of computer and internet knowledge. For example, explaining the difference between a host and a provider (though I'm not sure what a "provider"is). Common web and internet terms are easily looked up with Google and we prefer to spend most of our time teaching the ins and outs of blogging.

Perhaps we should set up a "glossary of blogging terms?"

We do, however, have a help article or 2 on the differences between BlogPress and traditional web hosts like BlueHost or HostGator as well as how we are different than a 100% self-hosted WordPress solution.

If you purchased a custom domain name from BlogPress Domains along with a domain email address, then yes, GoDaddy is your email provider. We are a GoDaddy reseller, so on the back end, that is where your domain name is hosted.
