Tales ebook and Digital Editions
I did hear back from Tales. Before that, after literally many hours, with multiple searches through blogs, I got this reader finally to work. I can see that many others have suffered similar challenges. While Tales plan on providing a better guide to using the reader, I’d suggest that in the meantime, they post that on their website at the time of purchase, indicating that some may have problems and that they will help guide them through (assuming they will)...... just a word of advice to be transparent to the customers.

One inflexible digital e-reader format :( and no refund after download!
I am cross: I ordered an e-book for quite a lot of money and when it arrived it was only usable on Adobe Digital Editions. I requested a refund because this was not made clear during purchase and was told that when I clicked a very obvious download link sent in the e mail informing me of this, I voided my ability to claim a refund. Screens cause migraines for me- the Kindle fire seems to be the only exception and it is the only one I can read without getting ill. Tales, it is simply not acceptable to use one exclusive platform and doubly unacceptable to refuse to refund customers who find out how inflexible the company is.

I do understand your situation in this matter. The different anti-theft protection on ebooks require different apps to open.
We have no way of knowing, what app, device or illness you may have before your purchase so we cannot guarantee it will work in your specific situation.
The refund is decided by the publisher, which in your case denied the refund since the ebook has already been downloaded.
If the Kindle fire is the only device you can use for ebooks, I suggest you double check compatibility before you make a purchase, and if you are in doubt contact the seller.
