Hello,

We are truly sorry to hear about your experience and how frustrating this has been for you. We would like to reassure you that Swappie is a legitimate company, and our primary goal is always to support our customers and resolve any issues that may arise.

Unfortunately, we cannot access your order details or support ticket history directly through this platform to analyze the exact situation. However, we would like to clarify how the return process works. If your device is still within the valid return window, you can initiate a return directly through your MySwappie account by navigating to the "Returns" tab, where you can find step-by-step instructions. Once submitted, you will receive an email with the necessary steps and a prepaid shipping label.

If your device arrived damaged with visible cracks or severe dents, please take clear photos of the phone and the packaging right away. In such cases, according to our standard procedures, we immediately open an investigation with the logistics provider to determine what occurred during transit.

Our support team is always ready to guide you and make this process as smooth as possible. Please contact us via email at info@swappie.com or through WhatsApp so we can look into your case and assist you directly.

Best regards,
The Swappie Team

Swappie's own photo shows no damage. They reduced my price anyway.

I sold an iPhone to Swappie in August. It had been kept under a screen protector from the day of purchase, removed immediately before shipping, and I photographed it at that moment. The screen was unmarked and the earpiece was clean.

27 August. I receive an inspection report with a reduced price. It contains three photos: one showing screen damage on a Natural Titanium iPhone, one taken with the screen on showing my device's serial number, and one of the back of my phone. My device is Blue Titanium. I raise the mismatch the same day.

28 August. I send my pre-shipping photos on request. Support confirms the case has gone to the relevant team.

1 September. The team asks for up to a week to check whether the phone in the report is mine.

8 September. The week is up. I receive three different photos: the back of a blue phone, and two partial views of a screen with scratches, taken with the screen off, where the colour is not distinguishable and no IMEI or serial number is visible. The earpiece in these photos has visible dirt. Mine did not.

9 September, morning. I'm told the team will be asked to provide photos showing the IMEI.

9 September, hours later. A different agent tells me photos showing the damage together with the IMEI cannot be provided at all, and that no further documentation is available.

Two things stand out.

First, the 27 August report contains Swappie's own photo of my device, identified by serial number, and it shows no trace of the damage now reported. I have raised this several times. It has never been addressed.

Second, Swappie states publicly that diagnostic photos are of the customer's specific device, that photos showing the IMEI can be provided on request so the customer can verify this, and that the request must be made before an offer is accepted or the phone is returned. That is exactly what I did, and I was told it was impossible.

I have also asked several times whether the sale is on hold while this is investigated. I have never received an answer, while the automated emails asking me to accept the price or take the phone back have continued to arrive.

I'm not willing to take the device back either. Photographs of a scratched screen that Swappie cannot connect to my IMEI are now on file, while the only identified photo of my phone shows no such damage. I have no way of knowing what condition it would come back in.

As of today, 10 September, the case is still open. Swappie says the matter is with a responsible team; I've had no indication of when to expect an answer.

If you sell to Swappie, photograph the device thoroughly before shipping, including the IMEI in the frame. I did most of that and it still wasn't enough.

The amount in dispute is €28. Nobody spends two weeks arguing over €28 unless they know they're right.

Update, 11 September
Swappie provided a video on 11 September showing my device's serial number together with screen damage. That video was produced only after this review was published, having been described a day earlier as impossible to provide.

My own pre-shipping photographs, which show no damage, were never commented on. None of my direct questions were answered directly. The answer to all of them was lighting.

What was never explained: why the first report contained a photograph with a different colour rendering and with visible dirt between the frame and the screen, and why the damage appears in a different area of the screen in the 27 August report, the 8 September photographs and the 11 September video. Lighting affects whether a scratch is visible. It doesn't move it, and it doesn't add dirt.

Trustpilot doesn't allow photo attachments here. If it did, anyone could see for themselves how little these records resemble each other, or my own photographs.

The condition of the device on 27 August, when Swappie received it, was never established. The only identified record of damage was made on 11 September, two and a half weeks later.

I've accepted the reduced offer. Not because the assessment was shown to be correct, but because a seller has no way to verify what condition their device was in when it reached the warehouse, and every discrepancy is explained by lighting. That argument can't be tested and can't be answered.

My mistake was not reading reviews before shipping. If you're considering selling here, read them first, and photograph everything, including the IMEI in frame.

Hello,

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We have thoroughly reviewed your order, all submitted photographs, and the condition of your phone. We sincerely apologize for the delay in our response. Communicating with our warehouse and retrieving additional diagnostic photos can sometimes take longer than expected, especially during periods when a high volume of devices is undergoing inspection.

Regarding the photographs, we carefully examined the images you took right before shipping. On your photos, taken directly from the front, a light source reflects across a significant portion of the screen, and all shots were captured from that same front angle.

The initial photos in our assessment report differ primarily in the angle from which they were taken. Certain surface scratches only become visible when viewed from specific side angles, which is why our technicians photograph devices at different inclinations. Regarding the color appearance, we use powerful laboratory lighting during testing. This high-intensity light can alter how the phone’s color renders on camera. In the additional photos sent to you, you can see they were captured from another angle. Please also note that in the assessment report, the light source is positioned directly above, whereas in the secondary photos, the light source is positioned to the side. The placement and proximity of the light source significantly affect where and how defects show up on camera.

To give you complete peace of mind that the device being inspected is indeed yours, we have requested our sales and inspection team to record a video of your phone. This video will display the IMEI and the screen imperfections simultaneously in a single frame. Please be assured that we test devices strictly in the condition they arrive; our processes are certified, and damage during testing is impossible.

Regarding the automated reminders, these are sent systematically and cannot be manually turned off. However, please do not worry about any deadlines — we are actively keeping an eye on your case regardless of these automated emails, and your order will not be finalized until we reach a resolution together. Our support team will reach out to you shortly with the video so you can verify your device.

Bad quality phone

Very unimpressed by the quality of my used phone. It's battery is very bad - can just about last a day and I don't download, stream, or listen to music on it. I just check social media once in a while. And text a bit. I have to tap really, really hard for the screen to come alive.

Hello,

We are truly sorry to hear about your experience with the battery performance and the screen responsiveness. We completely understand how frustrating it is when a device does not meet your expectations, especially under light daily use.

Unfortunately, we were unable to locate your order in our system to look into the specific details of your device. In general, we recommend checking the battery optimization tips available in our Help Centre to see if performance can be improved. However, if these steps do not help, please reach out to our customer support team via info@swappie.com or WhatsApp. Our team can provide you with specific diagnostic tests to verify whether the battery is exhibiting abnormal behavior or hardware issues.

Please remember that all our devices are covered by Swappie warranty. If the tests confirm an issue with the battery or screen, we will be more than happy to resolve this for you through our warranty service.

I’ve ordered phones from Swappie…

I’ve ordered phones from Swappie several times. Delivery was always fine, no complaints there. But the phones themselves? Every single one had some kind of problem.

One phone stopped turning on and off properly. They replaced it, which was fair enough. But the replacement has another problem — the screen keeps randomly cutting out. And this was supposed to be the phone in the best condition they offer.

It happens regularly, so honestly, I have no idea how this phone passed their checks. It feels like I paid extra for a “refurbished” phone and ended up with something that is basically unreliable.

At this point I could have just bought a used phone for less money and probably had the same experience. But hey, at least I’m “saving the planet” by buying refurbished, right?

Really disappointed. I gave Swappie several chances and it was the same story every time.

Never again.

My phone was stolen from the parcel

My phone was stolen from the parcel, that was left opened on my door step. Swappie has left it up to me to deal with the courier. Swappie has a whatsapp chat that resets after 24 hours. So you think you get some help but they do absolutely nothing, Meanwhile you lost your money and still have no phone. My experience is from Denmark - turns out that Swappies courier has outsourced to Postdanmark in Denmark.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your review. We are truly sorry to hear about this distressing situation, and we completely understand your frustration and helplessness regarding the theft of your parcel and the difficulties in getting a resolution.

Unfortunately, we are unable to locate your specific order details or review your previous conversations with our customer support team from this platform. However, we would like to explain how these cases are handled. We rely on our logistics partners to deliver shipments safely to your specified address. When an issue occurs in transit, we immediately initiate a formal investigation with the carrier, as they are responsible for the package during transport and possess internal scan records, precise location data, and delivery logs beyond what is visible on the tracking link.

If the courier completes their investigation and officially confirms to us that the parcel was delivered correctly to your address without any weight discrepancy during transit, our hands are unfortunately tied from a logistics standpoint. In these specific circumstances, we strongly advise filing a formal report with the local police. The police have specialized tools to track stolen electronics, and reporting the theft allows the device's IMEI number to be blacklisted to prevent unauthorized use.

Regarding the WhatsApp chat, the 24-hour reset is an automated system setting. However, if your chat resets or closes, you can simply type a new message in the very same chat thread, and it will immediately reopen your case for our team to continue assisting you.

We truly regret the stress this situation has caused you.

Best regards,
The Swappie Team

Extremely disappointing experience

Extremely disappointing experience – delivery failed and refund still pending

Unfortunately, my experience with Swappie has been extremely disappointing.

I ordered a phone which was supposed to be delivered to Luxembourg. The shipment became stuck with DHL in Germany and remained there for more than a week without being delivered. Despite contacting Swappie several times and asking them to resolve the issue with DHL, the situation was not solved within a reasonable timeframe.

As we urgently needed the phone, we eventually had no choice but to buy another one elsewhere and cancel the Swappie order.

What is particularly frustrating is the amount of time and effort I had to spend following up on a delivery problem that should have been handled between Swappie and their chosen shipping provider. As a customer, I should not have to repeatedly chase both the seller and the carrier to find out what is happening with an order that has already been paid for.

I have now requested an immediate refund and expect the full purchase price to be returned without further delay.

Based on this experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend Swappie. A good customer experience is not only about selling a phone – it is also about taking responsibility when something goes wrong with the delivery and resolving the problem quickly.

Hello,

We sincerely apologize for the extremely frustrating and disappointing experience you have gone through. We fully understand your position: having to repeatedly follow up on a stuck delivery and being left without a needed device creates a tremendous amount of unnecessary stress and effort.

We checked your order and can see that your parcel is indeed currently on hold. Regrettably, we have not yet received a definitive update from our logistics provider regarding the underlying cause of this delay. We are deeply sorry that the carrier failed to deliver as expected in your case and that this severely ruined your impression of our company.

We can see your open inquiry with our customer support team. Please rest assured that we are actively prioritizing this and will provide you with a full response and an update regarding your request as quickly as possible.

We truly regret that we let you down on this occasion, and we appreciate your patience while we finalize this for you.

Battery and customer service fail

I purchased an iPhone 13 and paid extra for a new battery. Unfortunately the battery was either not new/ damaged as the battery life was bad from the start and degraded quickly. No problem. I contacted Swappie about the issue and the only solution is to clear your phone of everything and have it sent back to them, where they guarantee to LOOK at it within 10 working days. So we are talking about 2 weeks without a phone until you are guaranteed they will even review. And that's without any repairs. This is not practical for anyone. How can you manage without your phone for that amount of time as a minimum. They just ignored me then, that's the only solution take it or leave it. It wasn't our first purchase, and previous experience there were no issues, but how a company handles problems is the real test. I wish I had looked into how they managed problems before I purchased. There are lots of companies offering similar products at similar prices who also can handle customer difficulties without leaving you without a device for several weeks. I would not purchase from them again as their customer service is totally inadequate for the type of product and the cost of what they sell. Phone was purchased in November but not used till after Christmas.

Hello,

We genuinely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience this situation has caused. We completely understand your position — being left without a functional phone for a prolonged period is extremely difficult and disruptive.

Unfortunately, we are unable to locate your order or review your previous communication with our customer support team to analyze the details further. Regrettably, we do not offer loaner devices during repairs, as this is standard warranty practice across many electronics retailers. However, we are always eager to resolve any issues within the scope of our warranty service.

We would like to explain that our warranty inspection process takes up to 10 working days, excluding shipping times. Because this involves battery performance, our technicians need sufficient time to test the battery using specialized diagnostic equipment to identify the fault, analyze the cause of this abnormal behavior, and determine whether a replacement is required.

While we understand that sending your phone in for service is inconvenient, we can help arrange expedited shipping in both directions to shorten the turnaround time, though we still cannot provide a temporary replacement unit. We sincerely hope you will reconsider and allow us the opportunity to make this right. Please reach out to our support team at info@swappie.com or via WhatsApp so we can organize faster delivery for your warranty claim.

Iphone: Excellent condition, only the touchscreen doesn't work.

I bought a brand new mobile phone because of Swappie. I originally planned to buy a refurbished iPhone from Swappie and asked them for a premium quality one in excellent condition. The device arrived soon, which looked really nice. Unfortunately, it seems to have been a simple display piece, because despite the nice exterior, the touch screen barely worked, it didn't respond at all. It makes you wonder who tested this and how. I was forced to return it and I'm very disappointed. Fortunately, the return went without a problem. I no longer trust that I will get a usable device if this offer is labeled as perfect for them. So now I'm going to buy an original one because of them... I don't recommend buying from them, because it will only depend on your luck whether you succeed or not.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We sincerely apologize for the disappointing experience you had with your device. We completely understand your frustration and your reaction to this situation.

Regardless of where a replacement part originates, it must be fully functional. Our technicians select all components strictly based on their performance, quality, and our extensive technical experience. We can assure you that a touch screen barely responding is abnormal and certainly not up to our standards.

Every single device we sell undergoes a rigorous testing process by our specialized technicians before it is shipped. However, electronics can sometimes suffer unexpected hardware failures. We are deeply sorry that this occurred in your case and impacted your trust in us.

We are glad to hear that your return process went smoothly without any issues. We truly appreciate your honest feedback, as it helps us continuously monitor and improve our quality control procedures.

We hope you enjoy your new phone, and we wish you all the best.

Faulty battery, unwilling to help

Got a great phone from them and selected the option for Swappie to install a new battery. What I did not know is that it was a non-OEM battery which is of extremely poor quality. If I had known i would have kept the original battery. Within the first month it would drop from 80% > 10% and then 0 within 15 minutes.

Reported this to customer service and they said theres not much they can do.

Fast forward 2 months and my phone now has died twice from 100% and then reboots to 10% with an hour or so usage. Asked to swap it for a functional model under warranty which they agreed to but are now unwilling to send a replacement phone first. I need this phone for work so cannot go 1 day without this phone functioning but they are unwilling to send a phone first even after I’ve offered to pay a deposit.

Bit worrying if a company can’t be without a second hand phone worth max 300 euros for a few days.

And this was after they also short changed me on a hand-in phone, they first quoted 250€ when I sent them it in, once they inspected it they brought it down to below 150€

Avoid at all costs. I now have a paperweight for a phone that overheats, could cause a house fire and will need to be replaced because it could cut out during a meeting

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We genuinely apologize for the negative experience and the frustration this situation has caused. We fully understand your position, relying on a phone for work makes any hardware issue extremely inconvenient and disruptive.

We would like to explain that our technicians carefully select replacement batteries based on extensive testing and performance standards. When we install a brand-new battery, it is intended to function just like an original one. The drastic drops in battery percentage and reboots you described are clear signs of abnormal behavior that should not happen. Unfortunately, electronic components can sometimes fail unexpectedly, and we are truly sorry that this impacted your device.

To resolve this under warranty, we do need to receive the phone back for inspection and repair. Regrettably, we do not have the facility to provide loaner phones or send a replacement unit prior to receiving the original device. While we realize this is inconvenient, this policy is standard practice across many electronics retailers. We sincerely hope you will still consider sending the phone in so that our team can fix this for you and ensure your device works reliably.

Regarding the device you traded in with us, we checked our system and located the order. The initial quote of €157 was based on the condition selected as "Almost new" in the online form. However, upon technical inspection, the condition was adjusted to "Very good" with the price of €115 due to visible signs of use and minor cosmetic imperfections.

We are truly sorry that your overall experience with Swappie has been disappointing, but we remain fully committed to making things right through our warranty service.
