Developed a fault on second ride.

£350 on a set of custom built wheels. The rear wheel started squealing on the second ride. I have confirmed this by putting on the old wheel and the squeal was no more. On inspection I found the freehub was worn/grooving. I contacted customer services who duly morphed into the Teflon dept (nothing sticks). They answered in good time with the book of excuses and why it couldn't possibly be their fault. If you want good quality bike parts shop elsewhere. If you want to be fobbed off with nonsense Superstar Components is the place for you.

Awful products Bought a wheel set that…

Awful products Bought a wheel set that came with a flat spot didn’t realise until the bike was built months later so couldn’t return, however I ordered a single rear wheel and guess what arrive so out of true its going to cos more money and some of the nipples are scratched avoid this company at all costs

Poor quality product and customer…

Poor quality product and customer service.
I bought 13t jokey wheels. When I decided to fit them after few weeks I noticed really bad machinery finish and very sharp edges(provided them with photos) When I contacted them, they told me that they only accept returns in 14days. I though bad quality product should be taken back for investigation at any time a specially if the wheels were not used. Also they should pay for return!!

Top service from David at superstar…

Top service from David at superstar components, sent a email enquiring about a v3 hub and received a fast reply answering my questions very well . Was guided to other parts that I needed and advised really well and in a professional manner.
David even stayed late to allow me to collect my parts that I had ordered. Fantastic customer service and very helpful on a well built and top product

Excellent service and products I ordered the lime green sram 12/14t jockey Wheels and rainbow titanium bolts took 2 days and the parts look and feel good much better than the standard sram

A Dickensian firm run by a bully boy MD

Awful service! Suspect quality items
Brake pads disintegrated on first ride.
Truly dismal service which has not changed in years looking at the other reviews here?
The MD couldn't careless???????

They dont even deserve 1 star! Shocking and will never use again!

I ordered a set of 12T jockey wheels in black, i got the package pretty quick - but the wrong item, ok i thought no issues, just get them to send the right ones out now whilst i send the others back as it was their mistake.

A big fat no from them, even though it was their mistake, they would not send out the item i had actually ordered.

Was asked to purchase the same item again - i refused and i am glad i did refuse as heard others get another wrong item and i didnt want to be another £25 out of pocket.

They said they would accept returns and refund £6.50... well that wouldn't cover the costs so i asked them to sort out the courier to come pick it up. Their response was if we dont get the item back then you dont get anything.

Absolutely shocking customer service and i will never use these again.

I have put in a charge back on my card and have chucked the useless crap away that they sent me.

Lesson learnt - never use superstarcomponents again!

Great service, highly recommended

Bought a pair of wheels in December 2018. 10 days ago I had a problem with the free wheel, contacted SC who advised me to send them back. Wheel was returned with a new hub and turned around within 6 days, including a weekend. Communication was spot on too!

Awful Customer Service and Delayed Refunds

I've used Superstar Components a few times over the past 5 years, and the products are ok. Their customer service on the other hand is shocking. As a result I will never shop with them again: If a business can't deal with errors of their making without further impacting affected customers then they don't deserve the custom.

I ordered a chainring and they sent the wrong one. They refused to send another without first receiving the one they'd sent in error. To expedite things I ordered a replacement ring. Yet again they sent the wrong one, and yet again refused to do anything about it until I'd returned it. They acknowledge that this is their picking error, not mine, yet they refuse to sent a replacement.

Both the incorrectly picked chainrings have been returned and signed for as received yet no refund has been issued after 5 days. Again, this isn't a customer changing their mind and cancelling an order: it's a refund due to Superstar Components' own mistakes.

Faulty part and VERY poor customer service

I ordered an oval chainring from this company in june, when it arrived the item was fault and the chain kept climbing off the ring, i returned the item on 18 july which they have received (i have the tracking info to prove that it was received) I am currently still awaiting a refund for this item, there is no way to contact the company as my emails dont get through. Faulty part and VERY poor customer service

would not use again

would not use again! v6 hubs sent back twice stripped the pawls and left me stranded, both times had the hassle of stripping tubeless tyre and insert and posting . I have never had this problem with any other brand.

Recent issues with rear wheel rims…

Recent issues with rear wheel rims splitting at spokes, the response was that this happens with some rims and is just wear and tear. A small discount towards new wheels would have placated me but they weren't interested. Lost a customer now, shame

No QA check of wheels sent

No QA check of wheels sent. Rear wheel bearings were rough as.
Communication from superstar was shocking. Really unhelpful.
Cost of delivery to return wheel for repair was not refunded.
Will not use this company again.

I was after a new headset and sent them…

I was after a new headset and sent them a message on social media to find out what the cutoff time for delivery was, I ordered well before cutoff and never received any dispatch email. After two days of no dispatch email I messaged again to get a rather sarcastic response from there customer service so decided to ask for a refund. No refund and still no headset. I won't be ordering from them again.

Cheap prices for a reason!! Buyer beware.

Purchased a wheelset from them, which arrived in a timely enough fashion, but clearly this was at the expense of any quality checks having been conducted!

The first issue I noticed was that regardless as to how tight the rear cassette was on the freehub, or how tight the axle in the bike held the freehub in place, there was still movement in the cassettte, which having done some investigation, I believe was down to an ill fitting freehub.

The second issue was that the front wheel was out of alignment with the middle of my bike by around 7mm, which is quite substantial. Clearly, whoever dished the wheel didn't really have a scoobies on how to so.

Although communication from Superstar was good, it doesn't detract from the fact that they sent out a sub-standard pair of wheels that had clearly not gone through any kind of QA procedure, which is disappointing, and I'm afraid the "here's a postage label, send them them" attitude doesn't really do much for me.

Products are fine but service is shocking

Products are fine, but service is shocking

Placed an order with Superstar components for some wheels. They sent the wrong freehubs. Afterwards they failed to reply to a bunch of emails. They eventuality sent replacement parts but they never arrived. After they were informed of this they asked me to send the hubs back. I did so and finally received the replacement freehubs, however all this took 6 months, during which time I couldn’t use the wheels.

To make matters worse they only cover return shipping to the tune of 6 pounds fifty whereabouts shipping cost 16 pounds. After repeatedly pointing out this was their mistake I got the same answer that they only cover up to 6.50. No covering the actual cost of postage or offering any discount for all the hassle.

So to summarise, Superstar ship the wrong parts, I am left out of pocket for shipping costs and have 6 months with no use of the product. Sorry but I won’t be coming back.
