Hassle Free Quote

Called Sunlife Insurance for a quote on life insurance. Gareth was very thorough but managed to explain it all to me in simple terms. He was professional but friendly too and set it all up in no time at all. Knew it had to be done and was dreading a lengthy phone call but that was not the case.

Sort your house out Sunlife!

Wow why do you need the customer to go through a series of questions to press this now press this really? This is 2026 sort out your house you must be able to make it easier for your customers!
Anyway the reason for my call was to make a missed payment I finally get through after the interrogation to be told we can't take payments over the phone really so the customer has to do all the work really guys get your house in order try to be more proactive!

Horrendous Claims Experience

Really poor claims experience.

My Dad passed away and never missed a payment. They advertise saying really simple claims process and they pay out same day.

Called up with death certificate, claim approved. They promise same day payout. Call up next day as money still not received. They confirm bank details are correct and say end of day again, call up the next morning as money still not paid and get told again end of day. Have to re explain the situation to each agent who most of the time don’t seem to understand what I’m saying and try to fob me off without even investigating.

Still waiting for the payout now as they keep fobbing us off saying it’s coming In hours. We are now on day 5 with funeral expenses to pay for.

Not what you need when you’ve got everything else to deal with following the death of a parent. They have made everything so much more difficult.

I genuinely do not know for the life of…

I genuinely do not know for the life of me how this company has such a high rating, from the 3rd March 2017 my Grandad paid 28 pounds per month and on the 3rd of November 2019 he was told this amount wouldn’t cover his funeral so he took an additional policy same company for an extra £16 per month. At the point he passed away he had paid £4,176 into his plan and the payout received is £3,670. To not even receive the amount that he put in is disgusting, save your money and put the money into an ISA or saving account. Total scam.

I'm also sorry to hear of your concerns regarding the Terms & Conditions associated to his plans.

Our Guaranteed Over 50 Plan customers choose the monthly premium they are comfortable with, which never goes up. In return, the plan provides a fixed cash payout upon death, subject to clearing the moratorium period and premiums being paid when they are due.

It is not unusual for our customers to have more than one policy over time so they can increase their overall level of cover.

As with all insurance, premium payments are made to ensure the cover provided by the product remains in place, and as such it is possible to pay more in premiums than you get back.

Customers who live longer can pay more in premiums than the value of their fixed pay-out. Equally, there are claimants who will get a cash pay-out of more than the policyholder paid in premiums; depending on how long they live.

We ensure this risk is made clear throughout the application process and is also detailed in the policy documentation.
