I am not some sort of anti-fa whatsoever, yet what i experienced there is absolutely not clearly legal; rather some sort of radicalism and formulation of covert fascism.

After i noticed a weird lack of mixing in the dorms, i've checked the reviews Generator Paris (sorting by ascending marks) : loads of complaints of racial/age segregation regardless of attitude and social status.
Ready to mob agains complainants through false accusations.
The bad reviews are legion.

I noticed it to the management who adopted a denial attitude (i was not surprised : hundreds of reviews are answered "we'll take it in count, it will never happen").
Some token in staff aswell. Staff know there is an issue as they are the issue, they just lie in front of you.

Be extremely careful if you want this culture to change. The nice building is parasited by such team.

Thank you Generator hostel! I had a great time in your hostel in Amsterdam. The hostel is located in a lovely environment and the staff is very friendly and they think in solutions. I love the idea of laptop work spaces.The price- quality is excellent and the rooms are clean. I returned to this hostel so I slept in different rooms and know that this is the place you like to be as a traveler.

I work in the travel industry and the customer service I have received from Generator Hostels has been the WORST I've come across since the crisis began. Booked a non flexible rate back in November of last year that we simply can't travel on due to quarantine restrictions. They are totally unwilling to help, offer ay form of flexibility or sympathise with our situation. We are simply told the border is open, so you can't get a refund. Every other hotel I've dealt with throughout the crisis has extended empathy and understanding, but Generator have done absolutely nothing other than p*ss a lot of their customers off. If I could give them 0* I would. Avoid like the plague, read reviews on Facebook/Google/Trust Pilot before booking.

Stayed in Berlin Mitte. Haven't stayed in a hostel where there's no given towels, no kitchen, plus the worst thing is been given room 101 which faced directly to the open outing area with ping pong table and pub musics all night till 2am. The room is not sound proof. I've went down to ask for a change the second I got the room, and are told they would change for me if the hostel are not fully booked. I went to the their site right after that, plenty of rooms are available. All b*ll s**t from the front end desk. They should at least be honest, or perhaps rent out such room at a cheaper rate, or maybe provide some free ear buds to the customers instead of lying. The management might not even stayed in such room before to understand how bad it is. Further to that, ive got a broken feet, I've told the reception that I can't climb up the upper deck of the bed and asked for a lower bed and had been told that I need to email in to arrange for it. And he said maybe next time. What kind of service is this. Not recommended at all. My last stay with them for sure.

I have now stayed at two different loctaions from Generator Hostels, the one in London and Paris.
The overall experience staying at Generator Hostels is really good. My first stay the hostel in London made me want to stay again at the chains other locations. The rooms at both hostels were clean and nice and they changed the bed linen regularly. The staff at is nice, helpful and fast to apply when you mail them.

The only thing that has not been that great at both of the stays is the hostels' restaurants. The one in London told me one day that they were out of stock of pancakes, fair enough, so we choose something else. Then after we got our food we see other customers, that ordered after us getting pancakes.
One day, at the restaurant in Paris, we ordered the breakfast buffet that they offered. The food was not that great, the coffee that they had labeled "Black coffee" was basically espresso. The food was okay, the selection was not that big, but it was okay compared to the price. Another day we ordered lunch at the hostel, which was a big disappointment. We had two pizzas, a burger, and nachos. The burger was kind of cold and the fries were undercooked, both pizzas did not have all the ingredients on them as written on the menu. They also forgot about one of the pizzas so it arrived when the rest of us were done eating.
So I would not recommend eating at any of the hostels but instead, explore the city and find somewhere else to eat.

But generally both stays have been really nice and I would definitely stay at Generator Hostels again.
