Charging £16 without any consent
Charging £16 without any consent. I paid over £2 for CV preparation once and thought it would be the end until to my big surprise I saw a £16 charge out of the blue. This looks like a scam.

Misleading charges
The service itself is good, but the charges are not presented clearly. I thought I had purchased a "14-day Full Access" at £2.70, only to discover at the end of the period that this was a trial and I was automatically enrolled into a monthly plan and charged £16.95. Please call a trial a trial and make more explit in your communication that people are subscribing to a monthly service. Extremly disappointed.

Avoid ! The 14 day free trial is not free…
I used the 14 day free trial and tried to cancel but the website will not recognise my log in details. It would not send the "forgot password" email making it impossible to cancel.
They have now taken 3 payments for a service that is impossible to use.
I am raising a dispute with my bank as I refuse to pay for a service I am not using.
Looking at other reviews it seems this is a way to fleece customers, as the site makes you put card details in for the 14 day FREE trial but then blocks you out of the system so you are unable to cancel.
I wonder how many people they are drawing £15 a month from?

⚠️ Warning: Predatory Subscription Trap ⚠️
I want to caution others about the deceptive subscription practices I experienced with StandOutCV.
I signed up for a 14-day trial in 2024 and remenber that I cancelled it after trial. After 7 months I found that they are taking their suscrption from me on the background, while I never used it again.
When I raised this issue and asked for a refund, StandOutCV refused, showing no regard for fairness or consumer rights.
After this teible problem, I had to buy one months suscription and asked them to give me one month for free to compensate 5 months payment, but they refused.
This company appears to thrive on exploiting customers who lose track of their subscriptions. Hidden cancellation policies, limited invoices, and lack of transparency are not the practices of an honest business—they are tactics to trap users into ongoing payments.
👉 My advice: stay far away from StandOutCV.
