Great way to get tickets at prices you would never find at National Rail and train operators’ websites. Easy to use website.

Bought tickets that were significantly cheaper than the same train bought through one of the most well known sites. Unfortunately I couldn’t travel due to illness but was able to get a full refund. (Minus £5 admin fee which I think is very fair)
Phenomenally quick and efficient customer service (email) with an auto populated link which allowed me to apply for the refund in 2 clicks
Efficient, friendly and great service. I will use again

Too much confusion at stations alien to me and terrible train experience.
I suffer with mental illness and travelled to be with my dying father and mother who suffers COPD, I live on pennies so this was great but the journey was horrible, a panic to reach platforms and trains.
I was drained before I arrived and stressed before I returned.
I will not be undertaking this again, I'd rather starve and try to save for the extortionate rail ticket which is an insult.

I saved £60 on 2x returns to London. Easy site to use. I’ll always buy tickets this way now.

Saved me money! Email confirmation was exceptional. Every detail needed, links to station facilities. Written in a way that was easy to understand and details of what to do if any of my trains were delayed. Have been recommending SMF to everyone I know!

Watch out, I thought I have booked a seat for our whole journey, turned out it was only for one leg. We had to stand up half of the way to edinburgh from guildford with 2 young children! £380 badly spent. We are now thinking about either flying home or buying a first class ticket back

Saved us money on a long train trip. Tickets emailed along with a journey itinerary, very useful.

Please note that at the time of writing this original review Trustpilot had flagged this company with the following warning notice: “This company has been displaying Trustpilot content incorrectly
This could look like showing an inaccurate star rating in sales materials, displaying reviews - they’re not permitted to use on their site.” This notice has now been removed.
The pop up boxes on this company’s terms and conditions website when applying for a refund are very vague - only upon digging deeper into the website to locate the complete terms and conditions can you see they are way more restrictive. Can I suggest the full terms and conditions appear when a passengers clicks on the refund area of your website not just a single paragraph.
So passengers fully understand the restrictions in applying for a refund.
The founder of this company will reach out to email them directly - presumably to smooth over any bad reviews (see below) and have a discussion about any possible issues —it’s simply garnish to make you think they have good customer service and will discuss matters and be open to fair discussion - they don’t - I suggest you look at alternative platforms.

Someone tried to fraudulently use my card to buy items from this company. Unfortunately they decided to side with the scammer.

Booked a ticket from Manchester Vic but when the email arrived the station had changed to piccalilli. Contacted support and they've ignored me.
Furthermore I've received marketing emails that I did not opt into receiving.
Update August 2025: Still receiving spam emails, have sent another formal complaint that I will likely have to escualte to the ICO...
My previous emails were all ignored, so I'm not sure why the people who response to these reviews ask people to get in touch with them?

The price was very competitive and the booking process was straightforward.
The only downside (which is not the fault of the booking process) was the train from Derby to Cheltenham was overcrowded and we didn't get our booked seats until we reached Birmingham New Street.

Easy to use website and clear ticket pricing.

Excellent site. Great for finding fares well below the prices shown by National Rail

I actually have a bookmark set up on my PC now and always use this site for my train tickets. I always save (sometime up to £10 per ticket) compared to Trainline and trainsplit

Cheap, easy and a much better alternative to any other service!

Very easy to do buy them online and a lot cheaper. I also cancelled a ticket and the reimbursement was very easy and straightforward.

It is an awful platform when your train is cancelled as they wouldn't issue a refund. They would claim a refund from the operator but won't give it to the customer. I wouldn't recommend this company, there other good apps out there or you better buy your ticket directly through the train operators.
