The scratching post O2225 (for my 3 month old kitten was delivered quickly (arrived Tuesday 14th April, many thanks) and does look good. My kitten as yet, has only played with the rat (the rat is actually bigger than her lol) she has yet to venture onto the sisal rope and scratch.

Whilst the scratching post does look good, I'm not enamoured as to how the post fixes to the base. The screw from the post (plus an additional nail at the side of the screw slots into a hole in the base) goes through the base and is secured by a washer and a wing nut. I've tightened the wing nut as much as I'm physically able, but the post does not fasten flush with the base. Given that wing nuts (this is from the internet about hex nuts versus wing nuts......"A standard hex nut is better for high-strength, permanent, and high-vibration applications due to superior torque. A wing nut is better for projects requiring frequent, tool-free adjustment or quick disassembly. Hex nuts provide better security and durability, while wing nuts offer convenience.") are more for items that you're frequently going to disassemble and then reassemble, a scratching post is in my opinion not something that you are frequently going to disassemble. The SP will only be disassembled when the sisal requires replacement.........a timescale that will vary depending on how often the cat uses the scratching post. Even the inexpensive scratching post that this Sophisticats scratching post is replacing, is fastened securely to the base via a hex nut.

Due to the post not sitting flush with the base, and the whole scratching post wobbles (despite adjusting the feet on the base) I've had to place the scratching post against a wall in case the whole thing topples over whenever my kitten decides to actually scratch or climb up the sisal rope. By the way, she is a small kitten who two weeks ago at the vets (aged 10 weeks) only weighed 0.94 kg, so it's not as though she's a huge kitten.

I'm therefore disappointed about this scratching post. I had also planned on ordering a cat tree once my kitten reached adulthood, but if they are fastened together with wing nuts, I don't think that I'll be going ahead.

To reiterate, the scratching post does look good. However, it's the fastenings of the post to the base, the fact that the post does not sit flush with the base, and the wobble, means that I'm sorry that I cannot give a 5 star review.

The experience with Sophistcated Scratch was excellent at every stage. This was a personal commission exquisitely fulfilled and I struggle to find the right words to give Di the full approbation she deserves for her skill, diligence and caring, delicate artistry. Attention to detail was paramount, which carried right through to packaging, delivery and installation instructions. The tree is utterly beautiful. A focal point to the room. Already so admired by visitors. The colour of the puffballs is an exact match to a wall of the room. The sheepskins are heavenly to touch and look amazing. I had asked Di to please incorporate a scratching post, and she came up with Roland rat, an appealing black creature with white ears, a long, thick string tail and enticing whiskers. I've not mentioned my cats? Well no: they are on holiday whilst I convalesce after a fall, but I cannot wait for them to come through that door, out of their carriers, and discover their very own sophisticated-cat polished oak tree with its high-rise dual wicker armchairs with the interchangeable puffball/donuts.

Took delivery of our cat tree yesterday which has made it all the way to Scotland in a day!
I wanted specific measurements so that our cat could look out a bay window and it would fit into our wee cottage. Di could not have been more helpful. The customer service is first class.
Built to last and aesthetically pleasing, unlike the mass produced cat trees.

As a breeder of Bengal kittens, I normally go through cat tree's and posts in no time! These really are the best that I've come across! Plus they are soo very beautiful and compliment any decor and all the cats and kittens love them!

Absolutely perfect from start to finish. This is my second cat bed and because my kitties loved the first so much I had to get another. The quality and uniqueness is second to none. The very BEST cat furniture anyone can buy! For example…. buy a cat tree, a cat scratcher etc and you won’t need to buy again! These things are not just sophisticated but they last a lifetime! I could never go back to buying cat furniture like I did before from pets stores& other places…. they look all fancy but doesn't even last a good few months.especially if you have big cats like I do.
Don’t focus too much on the price, focus on the quality & the work that goes into these cat furniture & you would know it’s worth it.

We have a tree and a scratching post for our burmese cats. They love them and it is a feature in our house and not one of those cheap looking options from the chain stores. Both items are put together with care using the best materials and totally unique. Ever care was taken to ensure they arrived with no damage. Highly recommend sophisticated scratch for a totally quality product.

Ratty arrived in our house soon after three 11 week old sibling kittens. They all adore him and he is so well made and constructed that he is surviving daily attacks from all three on a regular basis. He looks amazing in our house too, hanging on the back of a chair, kind of organic and rustic not like a nasty cheap toy from a high street store.
