Hi, purchased two new front tyres for transit custom van. Then proceeded to drive to work, was 70miles away from Brechin. However van started to sound as if there was a problem but because I was on motor way, very difficult to stop. After 78miles got into services to find three studs on wheels missing and one snapped off. Now if you read invoice it clearly says check after 50 miles. How could I check and the operator never torqued them up. Never even a call back. Stay wheel clear of this hill run shabby company. If I save one life today I feel it’s worth you staying away from this company.
Terrible experience. Please avoid them. I changed a sets of tyres in a couple of months ago and when I realised that the locking wheel nut adaptor was not where it should have been I phoned them and they lied, saying that they handed back to me ..... handed back to me ! Have you ever heard a bigger nonsense than that ? They never took responsibility for the missing locking wheel nut adaptor and that cost me GBP250 to replace it. Disgusting. Obviously they never replied to my emails, not even explaining why. Avoid them !!
Took in a wheel for a straightforward puncture repair. Kid who did the repair did not fit a valve cap and did not balance the wheel. When asked to balance the wheel he stuck the weights on on top of all the dirt so they just fell off. I've not had a puncture in decades but amazingly, I got another in the same tyre on Saturday. When I got that repaired the guy asked if I knew there already was a repair on that tyre and I told him it was done recently. He told me that no sealant had been used on the plug! Basically, nothing was done right. I've used loads of tyre places over the years and seen quite a few bodge jobs but this is the worst I've ever seen. No way I'll ever use them again.
Went to Sol Tyres (Halifax, West Yorkshire) today with a puncture. Everyone is so helpful and dealt with it straight away. They offer a friendly and efficient service. Definitely recommend to others.
Called them at 8.30am with a puncture at home. Thanks to Mike from the east linton branch I’m back on the road by 1015pm with new tyre. Excellent service
Brilliant service. Needed new tyres, contacted soltyre who were able to help and fitted them as soon as they could. Really good and reliable, definitely recommend to friends and family
I recently ( visited Soltyre in Airdrie to have 4 x Goodyear Vector 4 seasons tyres to be fully fitted from Black Circle.
The first error was that the fitter had fitted the unidirectional tyres on the nearside of the car facing backwards.
Fortunately I noticed this as soon as I got home as my daughter would never have known the difference.
In fairness, Soltyre quickly fixed their error and I returned home.
My next issue was when my daughter called me a week after the fitting from a petrol station to say she was stuck as her front tyre was flat.
I left work immediately and replaced the tyre with the spare. I could see no nails through the tyre.
I checked the other tyres and noted that the rear tyre on the other side of the car was also not holding air. It strikes me that the tyres have been poorly sealed.
When I looked at the invoice for my 4 fully fitted tyres I also noted that Soltyre had elected to balance only the front two tyres despite black circle advertising all fully fitted tyres as coming fully balanced with new valves all round.
Soltyre was closed tonight so I took the tyre to another tyre dealer to reseal as I value my daughters safety above all else and want her spare tyre back in place.
The garage has advised that the tyre is "fu***d"
I have no intention of returning to Soltyre Airdrie and have notified Black Circle accordingly.
I await their response.
In the meantime I will need to drive my daughter to the train station until they resolve the situation as I have no intention of her driving without a spare. I am only glad my daughter was not driving at speed or this could have been very serious.
