Excellent service

Everything was very efficient and professional. Just took a bit of time to get back to me with answers to my querie (25 days).

We were away on holidays in the lead up and during the installation.
We were kept up to date before during and after the job was done.

Over the past couple of months I have noted a number of issues with my Ambrion inverter/battery all in one system. I had tried several times to contact the support team and ended up in long wait queues to be answered, which rarely happened. I was given an automated option to request a call back, which I ended up doing on 3 separate occasions. I never received any or these call backs.
The next step was that I emailed all the issues I had through to their support team detailing all the issues I was having with the inverter. I have listed these below.
1. Although I have good solar feed, I am still having substantial feed coming from the grid. So the battery is being charged both from the grid and the solar. In some cases the battery is not charging.
2. When the battery is nearing or is fully charged, no additional feed from the solar panels is directed to the grid.
3. Regardless of the charge of the battery, say 40% – 100%, the inverter still draws substantial power from the grid. Self-Sufficiency has dropped from 90%+ to the 30% - 50% range. Grid feed has jumped from 1.9 Kw to 22 Kw over a few days.
4. Rarely is power drawn from a nearly fully charged or fully charged battery as expected, power is still drawn from the grid.
5. Over the past few weeks, no power has been feed into the grid at all, even though the battery is fully charged mid afternoon.
Over the following week, items 1 through to 4 seemed to have been resolved, however I never received any reply back from SBG verifying this.
Today I rang the support team back as item 5 had still not been resolved. I spent an hour talking to an O/S operator who did not know how to deal with this issue. The line was very poor and it was hard to understand her with her accent. In addition the information they had for my installed inverter was incorrect. They did not even know that the manufacture who installed the batteries also made the inverter.
I feel totally frustrated at not being given any suitable explanation let alone and actual resolution.
It seems that once they have sold the system, there is no real help available for ongoing issues.
If I was asked to recommend SBG, it would be a big no.
Anyway back to the drawing board, next time I want to waste an hour, maybe I will get someone more competent.

They knew what they were doing and without fuss.
Connecting the battery seemed very professional.

Service and staffs

This is the second battery that I bought with them and in both instances it works well. The advice provided by the staff, installation and app information has been great. It's nice to be self sufficient and do something for the environment.

For three seasons of the year the system generates enough electricity so that only minimal power is required from the grid. It would be unrealistic to expect total independence from the grid in a Ballarat Winter.

We had a great experience from start to finish. The staff were always available and helpful. The whole process went smoothly and our batteries were installed quicker than expected. We are now viewing the solar panels and batteries performance via an app and the big plus is we’re saving money in our electricity bill.
