“Buyers please beware Sofaland

Buyers please beware Sofaland I purchased the Millan Black Settee (HS) and 2 Millan Black - Armchairs (HS) from 425 Walsall Rd, Birmingham B42 1BT, which were delivered on 21 July 2014. I have since noticed the material has become worn and cracked not a moth after delivery. The chairs have not been subject to any frequent use and I do not consider it reasonable that they are already showing signs of wear.

I was not prepared to have the settee repaired. I intend to reject the sofa for a full refund or replacement. There has been a breach of contract in that the goods are not of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose or as described at the time of sale.

The Sale of Goods Act 1979 states that goods should be:
The goods/sofa did not meet that of a good standard which a reasonable person would regard as being satisfactory, taking account of any description applied to them.

The satisfactory quality also includes the appearance and finish of the sofa, and their safety and durability and whether they are free from minor faults. This was not the case borne out by the report from Homeserve of which I would like a copy of, and I am entitled too.

Public statements made by Sofaland, or their representative that relate to specific characteristics of the goods, particularly in advertising or on labelling, must be accurate and are taken into account when deciding if goods are of satisfactory quality.
The sofa was fit for general purpose.
The law says, if the goods do not conform to the contract, I am legally entitled to one of the following remedies:

A replacement sofa or full refund and damages from Sofaland to cover the fault which has been proven by Homeserve who have reported that the sofa has not been seal correctly, and the stitching is deficient.
I would not recommend Sofaland to anyone. Their customer service is very poor and one of their directors threatens you with by writing; if you decide to take this to court then Sofaland fully intends to defend the claim and we will look to counter claim against you for any legal fees and time spent defending the claim. This was lightened in RED. I think it’s a very pitiable company and service if the director has to stoop that low and not negotiate a settlement that both parties are satisfied with.

Repeat: Buyers please beware.

The law states that once a customer has "accepted" the product the seller is entitled to offer a repair or replacement on any fault which may arise during the warranty period.

Although faults are rare sometimes, like with every product, they do occur from time to time. We apologise about this and we have offered you a repair on several occasions.

It is a quick and easy repair which will fully resolve the complaint. You have continually rejected the repair so on that basis we can not assist you any further.

If you are willing to accept the repair please contact us direct and we will instruct the engineers to contact you to book in the repair.

VERY HAPPY!

I received the footstool I ordered within 7 days, on the day I was told it would arrive.
I am more than happy with the footstool itself. It was well worth the £79 I paid for it, well made (larger than I expected) but the quality was better than I expected for the money.

I would not hesitate to order from SOFALAND again, though I have not ordered from this company before, first experience very good, only reason for 4 star and not 5

First class service

We bought our new suite off the web site. Easy navigation to what you require and a very reasonable price. Sofaland delivered in 2 weeks. Very good polite communication throughout our experience. A phone call around 30 minutes before delivery updating you on progress. The delivery team arrived and delivered the suite to our front room with ease, which is slightly awkward to get large items into and removed all the packaging within 10 minutes. I would not hesitate in buying again from Sofaland after our experience, or recommending them to friends and family. Thank you Sofaland.

Armchair

Delighted all round by Sofalands service. Our new armchair, brown leather, is fantastic, great value for money and delivered & installed in quick time ( 10 days from ordering). Would highly recommend them based on this purchase.

Sofaland are an excellent company.

I bought two big black leather armchairs from sofaland, and when they arrived I was very impressed with the quality of comfort of them, and couldn't believe how reasonably priced they were. Unfortunately I had not got my head around the fact we have downsized and they were far too big for the two small reception rooms - I wanted one in each. Sofaland were very understanding and allowed me to return the chairs for a full refund. I would not hesitate to use this company again and will confidently recommend them to family and friends.

Sofaland brilliant

I have to admit I ordered a sofa with some trepidation. How wrong was I . The people from Sofalend have been brilliant. I have been kept well informed on the progress of my order by email . I have had a phone call to confirm estimated delivery . Which was within two weeks by the way , not the usual six or twelve weeks . I have had a phone call to confirm actual delivery day . The lads who delivered my sofa were extremely nice and extremely helpful . They were also very friendly and funny despite having to make my delivery from Liverpool to S. wales .a five o clock early start . I recommend sofa land completely . They are brilliant from start to finish . Oh and the sofa is fantastic too .

Sofaland service

Customer service over phone was excellent. Tried several other 'mainstream' retailers and was told I would have to wait 8 weeks for the product. Sofaland delivered a top quality product in less than 2 weeks. The delivery team called on the day of delivery and were on time and the furniture was delivered and installed within 20 mins. Next time I need a sofa I wont be going to SCS or DFS, I'll be going to Sofaland, excellent job and couldn't ask for any more.

fabulous sofa and service

I was totally fed up of searching for comfortable, reasonably priced sofas but Sofaland was a welcome change. Really comfortable sofas, very reasonable and no pushy sales staff. We were told delivery would be 6-8 weeks but in fact was only three. Delivery guys were excellent.
Sofas look great and seem really well made...very pleased with them

Black leather armchair

We ordered this beautiful black leather armchair on line through ebay and it was delivered within the week. The delivery guys were extremely efficient and friendly and the armchair is exeptional value for money and looks lovely in our lounge. Thank you Sofaland.

Great product and very good service

It was quick and easy to order online. I got a call to let me know the date when my new sofas would be delivered and on the delivery day the driver called to give a time when I should expect him. I love my new sofas. They look great and appear to be very good quality.

Sofa Extravagance;

After visiting over 20 leather showrooms, we could not find what we were looking for not only in the product but the price as well.Then whilst trawling through sofa companys on the web we found SofaLand.
We drove from Weston Supermare to Birmingham to visit Sofaland and when we got there they had all that we wanted and at an unbelievable price as so on the spot bought what we wanted.
less than 14 days later it was delivered to my home by 2 good men who unpacked my new Sofa put it toghther and took all the packaging away.

Exellent customer service kept updated regulary on the progress of my purchase.

great customer service

We ordered a sofa from sofaland. They arranged for a delivery very quickly and Ray was very helpful. Unfortunately we had to cancel the order at late notice - Michael came back to me email within minutes to confirm the cancellation and refund.
Superb customer service - we hope to use them for a future sofa purchase

Happy I bought from Sofaland!

I bought a two seater recliner sofa through ebay from sofaland. It's exactly as they described it and when it arrived the delivery lads were great.
The brown leather is very good quality and it's so comfortable.
I am very happy to recommend the company and their product.

Perfect service, great prices, great product (Roma sofa)

The staff at Sofaland could not have been more helpful. I live at the opposite end of the country (near Inverness) from the sofa land showroom (Birmingham). Delivery prices were extremely reasonable, and when the product arrived I could not have been more pleased. Highly recommend Sofaland.x
