This gate is great.
Retracts easy, stays put all the time I never have to go back and readjust the gate, my dogs can see through it and when you don't want it open it retract out of the way. I have the hooks set up in my trailer too. I move the gate from my home to my trailer.

Bought two of these for use on the stairs
Bought two of these for use on the stairs. Added a kit to attach to banister using long zip ties that were included. Installation was straightforward for anyone comfortable with drilling holes and placing wall anchors into drywall. The part that is fixed to the banister does move and squeak to a small extent making it seem a bit flimsy but it does have the advantage of avoiding permanent holes or other installation. Seems to be sturdy enough but our 19 month old hasn't really tested the gates with his full weight. It does look nice and I love that you can move it completely out of the way when not in use.

I bought two gates for my front and back porch to keep my 2 YORKIES in. Absolutely love these gates! They are perfect anywhere! Easy installation and they look great! Once you have one of these gates, you will never use the conventional baby/dogs gates! When not in use, they retract back. No having to move gates around, messing up your walls. It’s a wonderful product!! Great price too!

Best Gate Ever!
I've owned a re-trac-a-gate in the past. The 1st one I had for over 15 yrs! It is strong and durable. I've had 3 large dogs over these yrs that jumped up onto it with their paws and it still held up fine. I've had grandchildren that leaned on it, played around with it, and even my cats used it as a scratching post when it was retracted! Never had a problem with it. I recently bought a new one, the exact same one, only because I re-did my livingroom and wanted a new clean one. My daughter-in-law has one too outside on her deck. I highly recommend this product to everyone looking for a gate that is so compact, strong and looks pretty too! Thank you, Terri Lebel. Waterbury, CT

I needed a minor part not offered as a chooseable item on their website and they sent it to me for free.
You just don't see that level of service much these days and it only deepened my brand loyalty.

I've purchased two gates over the past 5 years and they are great. They've held up very very well. I use them both for the top and the bottom of my stairs and I find them to be sturdy and safe, which is the most important, but also, they are easy to open with one hand -- as very helpful feature when you are holding a baby with the other.

Must have for daycares
I run a 24/7 daycare in my home. I am a return customer. I have a total of 4 Retract-A-Gates now. I really love the durability of the material. The fact that the kids do not pinch their fingers in the gate as they do with other gates. They are a must have for daycares and homes with children or pets!

The best gate I’ve ever used

Perfect gate for our home
Perfect gate for our home. We have one at the top of the stairs and one at the bottom. Never had any issues with our 1 year olds getting past it or messing it up. Easy to pull closed when needed, and out of the way when not needed (eg during naps and bedtime). Definitely worth the investment.

Great product
Great product. My toddler keeps trying to climb over hard gates but this one doesn’t give him a bar to grab onto. We use it to close off the kitchen when we are cooking. It’s so much easier than adjusting a hard gate to fit and opening and closing is much less of a hassle.
