Getting Ripped Off

I bought a duplex in 2005, I got two identical loans at the same interest rate and I pay them at the same time on bill pay. I called to get the pay off on these loans and found that I have a $9000.00 dollar difference in payoff balances. I have called many time and sent two certified letters trying to find out why, The only thing that has been said is "that's a good question" I have no idea how to get this resolved? I got a payment history for the two loans and found that one looks fine the other has thing like unapplied payment (they hold my payment until its late getting late fee's and more interest. This is the loan that has the added $9000.00 on the payoff. now my question is, is this a common practice and how many people are getting Ripped off and don't know it?

Save your life and stay away from this company

Apologies for the melodrama, but SLS literally ruined my life. I sold my beautiful Seattle home prior to an intrastate move, had my offer accepted on a new house, and then found out my mortgage application was denied. My credit was in the 700s, I make more than enough money, and I had a 20% down payment. Turns out SLS reported 6 late payments over the past year, which tanked my score by 200 points.
I have made every one of my payments on time, and I have bank statements to prove each and every one of them. But SLS with their abysmally bad bookkeeping will not back down. I'm now living in a scuzzy hotel with my two dogs and can't even rent a decent place because everyone checks your credit score these days.
This is all 100% true, and I have found many SLS stories online just like mine.

Incorrect Tax Forms

I have a home improvement loan with them (sold from another servicer). They sent the 1098 in a timely fashion, and I filed. On 04/07, they sent an "ammended" 1098. This was too late to take care of prior to 04/15, and it will cost me money to re-file. They can't even keep track of how much interest I paid. Incompetent.

This company disrespects seniors

This company disrespects its clients
It does not account for phone payments even though they have
Been made in a timely manner
They are now refusing my payments saying i am in forclosure
I have faithfully made payments
Recording them as they are made by phone
They have failed to send statements as requested until
Most recently after i spoke to
A HUD REPRESENTATIVE.
I requested a statement after
my complaint and they sent it
I meet with a rep next week
This company is the worst you cant rely on your communications being responded to leading to a critical
situation as it applies to mortgage payments made by phone.
I am a senior and I am angry

This is serious

ExcellentService

When I was notified by lawyers on Friday that my sale would be closing on Monday, I was sure I wouldn't be ready. But Jordan rose to the occasion and took care of it. I had the payoff statement on Monday morning. Excellent service.

Worst serving co there is

Worst serving co there is. my loan information was not updated from the prior servicer who I was only with for a couple months and SLS refuses to update it telling me that my proof of payments I've sent repeatedly actually 43 times has been denied every time for ridiculous reasons ink dots corners missing I wrote attention to escrow department in the subject line with the loan number. SLS agents do not appear to have any kind of real estate or mortgage educational background they lack the knowledge to answer simple questions. upon calling SLS it'll take over 8 minutes to get to somebody you always get hung up on twice and you will be on hold after that first person answers you will never get anything accomplished nothing positively they lose it or state that they never received anything. SLS States I didn't make six payments yet had never even been late prior to this nightmare that I have been forced to deal with I found out from an agent by slip of his tongue that the six payments were in my file and they had never been updated since 7/23. the exact six payments that they are stating I never made I sent 43 times for payment not one time has anything been corrected on my mortgage they have falsified amortization schedules payment amounts forced modifications that are unnecessary and stated payment plans that I don't owe for they charge fees that are fictitious and their entire goal is just to take your home they only buy loans that are in default or close to default so that they can apply these charges and fees and eventually foreclose on a customer this is my experience. I was not behind my account had just not been updated by the former service or yet but it gave them the opportunity to Slytherin and try to steal my home they violate federal regulations like they don't apply to them and whatsoever. problem is the only option a consumer has when fraud occurs on your mortgage is to contact the cfpb and endless multiple people complain about the same thing at the same time they offer negotiations between you and the felon the felons you're usually on to this and just filibuster and answer and nobody reads it it's a shame that there's nothing in place for the consumer if I was to steal someone's money in some countries my hands would be cut off here a mortgage servicer can steal your home and nobody cares no federal agencies and there are no laws in place for the consumer that are enforced. the FBI you fill out your report it's never read it goes into a box and when that box overflows they might look at that company for regulation violations but most likely not so if you have the option to not use this mortgage servicer don't I would turn and run and hope that they don't even get a description of you.

SLS is awful

SLS is awful. Customer service is a joke. They put you on hold for a very long time. Then they do not listen to you or answer your questions. They are purposefully evasive and slow. They will play every trick to cause you to misunderstand and possibly miss a payment. If you learn that your loan would be transferred to SLS, shop around. They are a terrible company that does not respect their customers. Avoid them at all costs.
