Re contracted without being asked and won’t sort!

After being a customer for 20 plus years I cannot believe my recent experience. I called to end a free sky cinema trial, that was all. I then get an email thanking me for agreeing to new offers, which were worse than what I was on, and charging me two £10 admin charges for doing so! The overseas call centre said they were unable to help and logged as a complaint. On calling to cancel my contract, the loyalty team promised to get sorted and call me on ‘Sunday’. But of course nothing. Am finding it impossible to sort …all because I called to stop a free trial! Incredible. After many years, I won’t be staying with Sky and cannot recommend them. Such a shame they have gone so downhill. Something has clearly gone very wrong.

They lie, keep all evidence

I don’t know where to start, over 4 hours of phone calls, none of the people on the phone were in agreement with each other, constant lies and unfulfilled promises. They never used to be like this. I have screenshots and photographic proof but they deny everything and pass you on and on and on. Unresolved, over charged, undelivered. I can no longer recommend them.

F1 NEEDS TO DISCONNECT FROM SKY

We're paying extortionate prices to watch F1 but get tons of adverts. Constant ads during practice and qualifying. This is unacceptable. We're paying to watch a sport and not to watch ads. Some ads last 3 minutes more or less and come on multiple times. How is this even allowed.... I'm watching live F1 to get cut off to watch ads about hair products, car deals and other useless stuff whist the session is on. I can't wait for a day where F1 doesn't renew the deal with sky. That would be heaven on earth.

Same applies for NowTV.

We need a subscription option to just have F1..... Just F1 with one price and no ads.

Constant issues

Constant issues, from billing to service. Spend more time talking to sky & achieving nothing, than I spend talking to my wife.
For such a large business, every area is poor.

We have been with Sky nearly 25 years…

We have been with Sky TV for nearly 25 years and have had our first experience of their off-shore call centre, WHAT A SHAM

We queried the re-contract as we only received a sky mini box instead we were expecting several boxes including the main sky Q box

The call centre told us that we had to accept that what was agreed with the Scottish call centre for the re-contract, was nonsense and we had to accept the new Indian call centres terms

If we were to cancel our monthly direct debit as they would instruct a debt recovery company to collect the debt

The Indian call centre refused to transfer us to the Scottish call centre, apparently!!! It’s impossible. They also refused to transfer us to the agent whom we spoke to initially.
They also refused to to listen to their own telephone call recording!

What a corrupt and underhand company sky tv has become, the Indian call centre seems to be rife with corruption and poor service

And threats of non compliance would result in debt collectors, obviously the rules in India must be completely different to consumer rights in the UK

People be wary of these underhand scam tactics, I am fairly sure, based on our experience this whole debacle, it’s unlikely we were singled out and this is now the sky tv’s off-shore call centre behaves. Their Norm!!

Let’s see how this plays out and I will keep you all informed of progress

Sky glass

I wish that I had never switched to sky glass. On many occasions I can't get what I want to record as it's episodes I've already watched and cannot get the most recent episode or when I request a channel it's not available.

COMPLETE CLOWN SHOW

I've been a loyal customer of Sky TV for some considerable time so much so they inform me I'm now classed as a very important customer. I came out of contract in July 2025 and they told me my new subscription would rise from £40 to £64.49. Last September I contacted Sky to close my account with immediate effect. Sky then offered to keep my £40.00 subscription fee for another year which I agreed to. I was somewhat irritated to discover in October they have charged me £64.49 This constitutes breach of contract. I have tried to contact Sky several times today to cancel my contract but every time I was informed the team that handle cancellations were on a "training day" ALL DAY and there telephone lines were switched off.
HOW CAN A COMPANY TREAT LOYAL CUSTOMERS WITH SUCH A UNPROFFESSIONAL MANNER?
If you are thinking of joining this clown show I would advise against it. Sky TV are completely amateurish in their dealing and more to the point, are simply uncompetitive.

Sky Mobile Incompetent Liars

I wanted to upgrade my mobiles (2), I was offered no upfront costs and a fair monthly charge in my opinion, when I accepted the offer after being transferred 5 times & confirming my identity/details each time Sky Mobile said I had been "mis informed " and If I wanted to continue i would incur upfront charges.. I asked to speak to the retention team, they said they we're all very busy and I would receive a call back within the hour, I'm still waiting..
I have used Sky products for over 20 years and the level of customer service is appalling & disgusting, 99% of them struggle to talk english.

Accusing me of lying I phoned over a month ago to cancel my tv package giving the obligatory 31 day notice period and they didn’t cancel it and took the whole amount out my bank when I phoned they said they couldn’t take my word for it and had to go back and listen to the call and get back to me in 24hours not good enough I’m having to keep my broadband as still contracted with it but soon as it up I’m leaving sky never to return they used to have good customer service but not now they have outsourced the call centres to overseas where the call handlers can’t understand a Scottish accent very frustrating also every time you get passed to another call handler you have to go through it all again as to why you calling

SKY fail to repay money they take wrongly

SKY take money from your direct debit despite contract having ended. Almost impossible to get through to but eventually they admitted their error and promised to return the money. But did not. 6 week now. They do not give an address to write to on their communications - just ring the customer help line and we're not spending hours doing that again. Recorded delivery letters have been ignored for a month. Threatened court action also ignored. We are obviously not alone in this having read Trustpilot reviews. This company needs a serious investigation by the authorities. DON'T CHOOSE SKY.

What has happened to Sky?

What has happened to Sky?
I’ve been with them 25 years & historically always found their service good. Not anymore!
I suspect the issue is offshoring their telephony. Took 10 days, multiple phone calls until I tripped across a helpful member of the retention team (Hiba) who sorted out my extremely straightforward request.
I would encourage those that can to use a different provider.
