I HAVE CONTACTED A LAWYER WHO IS INTERESTED BECAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE REPORT THEM. THEY TAKE FAKE PHOTOGRAPHS AND LIE ABOUT DAMAGE TO YOUR CAR AND CHARGE YOUR CARD WEEKS AFTER YOU HAVE RETURNED IT. The worst service ever i have…

The worst service ever i have experienced from a car rental company. Basically i rented a car booked a for a trip in america. the plan was to pick up the car from las vegas and drop it off in san francisco. I got to the Sixt at 7:51 and my pick up was at 8 am only to be told that WE don't have the MUSTANG or CAMERO. In fact they don't have any cars and cannot offer me a car or an upgrade. I WAS SO ANNOYED as i booked the 3 months in advance.They basically left me stranded and told me to get car from another company and they would cover the difference, as it was their inconvenience. SIXT even called me their shuttle to take me to the terminal where the other car rental companies. I managed to rent a car at at an massively inflated cost. So back in the UK and trying to claim my refund they have dismissed me and not answered my complaint. Wrote me down as a no-show and left no notes. Please Please Please never use this company again they will leave you stranded abroad and the company outside the UK will dismiss you like you never existed.

Messy but friendly (Healthrow)

Friendly staff, but very messy organization (I picked mine in Heathrow). Lots of cars, parked in total disorder. Hard to get out of the parking itself. Car was delivered in time though.

DO NOT BOOK car hire through sixt

DO NOT BOOK car hire through sixt. Intimidating, high-pressure sales on pick up forced us into additional agreement that we didn't need or want. Which came with hefty additional costs of course. Misled as to what we were paying for on pick up and return-no card receipt issued until after event on specific request. On collection we joined 4 other customers querying the additional costs charged- all in hundreds. Months later no satisfaction through customer services. Sixt should be investigated by agencies who govern this business if you look at reviews continually mentioning their sales practices.

PAPHOS BUMPER CAR

Hired a car from Sixt on the 29/08/19 in the early hours of the morning. Walked past cars from hertz and other car companies and cars were pristine and lovely and clean. We get to sixt and are handed these horrendously scratched, banged up skoda’s. Literally looked like a bumper car. We also hired a sat nav as our villa was a bit away. We got around 2 minutes into our journey and the sat nav gave up due to a faulty wire. Ended up using our phones. We returned the car on the 4/09/19 and told the man who was named Marios that the sat nav didn’t work. He was the most UNHELPFUL, RUDE, ARROGANT man I’ve ever had the displeasure of meeting. Tried to blame us ‘charging our phones’ in the car... none of us had cables or car chargers with us. Anything for a bit of extra money. My personal experience was telling one of our party not to worry about the €60 and we would just complain on tripadvisor and Google reviews. To then have Marios GET IN MY FACE AND START HAVING AN ATTITUDE. Marios swiftly got told I wasn’t speaking to him and to butt his nose put. Do not use this company of your life depends on it. If I’d spoken to somebody in that manner with that level of aggression . I’d get the sack!

Went to the reception desk in Paphos airport and told us because we didn’t drive 20 miles to their base to tell them we wouldn’t get our money back. Why should we take time out our holiday to deal with your problems.

If there was -ve marking Sixt deserve it..
The worst customer service and the staff are obnoxious, patronising at the Marienplatz +Schwanthalerstrasse booking office here in Munich, Germany. Such indignance perhaps flows through out the organisation. I wouldnt recommend this organisation by a mile. Terrible, Terrible Terrible. Kepe away

No customer care

I booked a car in Bosnia from 11 July to 8 August including full protection, on my surprise in February 2019 the SIXT deducted full amount. Soon in email I received an demand to pay extra $202.40 for full protection??? I was confused, but to avoid any problem I did payed in February 2019 full amount. In July on arrived to Sarajevo airport on my surprise in the front all rent a car agency was long ques except SIXT.???? The SIXT customer service desk was opening at 8am. After we confirm our identity and inform staff that we planing to cross a board (Montenegro)we have been charge extra 40 EUR for "green carton". When we asked to drop of the car on 8/8 at 7am due flights is at 8am, we have been informed this service will cost extra 40 EUR, also for early return there is not refund. Because of that issues we drop of the car one day early 7/8. Unfortunately customer care is very poor.

May I start by give a big thank you to a man name Andrzej Lukowiec for the numerous times that he went above and beyond with serving me as a costumer of Sixt ! My partner and I have used this company services many times in the past and I will in no doubt use them again but!! Having said that, I didn't had so good experience with the same company in different branches and in some of them I will not return even if they pay me so! I prefer not to mention .
I much prefer go to the one person that I know will be honest and well into helpfully.
Every time I used this company I wanted to leave a comment and never manage to do it so! Here it is my opinion ,I always stick to the person that I mention above and it works for me. I know exactly where I stand with. and if he can not help me he tells me so ! Like I said, honest .
One more time thank you Andrzej Lukowiec! .

Lied to me before claiming 151€ for a scratch on the rim

This has, without a doubt, been the worst customer experience of my life! One thing is for sure, I'll never use the services of Sixt again, and I don't recommend anyone else to do so either.

Explanation follows, for those interested:

We rented a car in Malaga, Spain, and upon return in the airport, the Sixt employee showed me a tiny scratch on the front wheel rim. He asked me if they had been there before, and I told him, I wasn’t sure. “That’s no problem,” he then told me. “The damage is so insignificant that you will not be charged no matter what. I am simply taking these pictures for future notice in our register.”

Upon this insurance, I signed the PDA, and left the car with the employee.

I had forgotten all about the incident, until one month later, when I received an email stating that "we have considered the evidence available and we believe you are responsible for the damage under our Terms and Conditions. We have received the respective documents stating our loss caused by the damage (...) We look forward to receiving your payment of 151,71 EUR"

After this, I tried to tell my story to the damage claim team through 6 emails, only to get the same reply every time: "When you returned the above mentioned vehicle it was damaged. According to the terms of your rental agreement you are obliged to return the vehicle in its contractual condition. So far no proof has been raised to state otherwise, which is why we regret to inform you that we must insist in our claim. We kindly ask you to make payment on the outstanding amount."

Same response, 6 times. Not have once have they commented upon the fact, that their colleague lied straight to my face when I returned the car. I have never experienced this kind of treatment before, not even by some of the low cost competitors. And this goes without even assessing the extent of the damage (scratch) vs. the claimed amount that I have now paid, regretfully.

Rented car in Barcelona

Rented car in Barcelona, Spain. In reality there only exist about 4 rental companies who make Money from actual carrental, sixt is one of Them. We got the car that was agreed upon before arrival and paid the agreed price. Due to a credit fault from our side, we ended Up renting without much insurance. They didnt make Up any Damage upon the return of the car and the customerservice was efficient and friendly. Thanks.

It is heartwarming when i see so many…

It is heartwarming when i see so many people find this company BAD!
I have been renting from Sixt, from Germany to Greece and Lebanon, among others; no problems.
I rented a BMW in Beauvais Tille, France; Everything went fine, as usual. But, every other day, i get a charge of US$20..
a total of six, in a rental period of one week. Come to find out that
if the authorities clock you going fast (speeding cameras), they ask
the rental company for the driver/renter's info.
I did get, ONE speeding ticket for 45 euros. I sent the money.
Sixt insists that i got 6 of them!!! They even tried to "make a deal" with me. I don't do deals, with anyone. Amex handled it. Their reaction (yes, they have the audacity to), a new bill, saying that i
turned in the car without filling it up. Of course, I had the bill, with
"full" tank written on it. I threaten to sue them; that's when they
behaved. Shame on you Sixt-France. Shame

Great service with Sixt, will never use another company! Now amended after extras added to payment receipt

Always received a great service with Sixt. Regrettably talked into booking a train connection on this visit to uk. When found out train was cancelled i simply got on the shuttle bus to car hire village and had hired a car within 10 minutes! Really friendly and helpful staf! Thank you Luciano and Angelo

Very Very Dishonest poor Customer Service

I rented my Jaguar from Sixt in Aug 2018 at Wroclaw Airport. When I picked up the car, they gave me paper work that included extra insurance coverage I explained to them I did not need it I had American Express Business account. They assured me they would take the charge off when I returned the car to them at the end of my trip. I got it in writing ! They never inspected the car with me when I picked it up, however it was written on the contract that the passenger side of the car door had some scratches. I went to return the car they tried to say I damaged it ! The only damage was the original damage they put in the contract. They did however assure me they would credit the insurance. When I returned to the US i reviewed my american express account to find I was still being charged I have been back and forth with Sixt in emails they will do nothing i am out 300 US for insurance I did not need... The office in Poland was very rude and unhelpful full I will never rent from them again. I have always rented from Avis sadly the daters I needed they did not have a car for this trip. I will stay with Avis awesome customer service never a problem. Avoid this company !

Rented fro sixt Berlin Schönefeld…

Rented fro sixt Berlin Schönefeld airport. I was going to rent from Avis but the reviews were shocking, not that sixt were brilliant either. However they were better than Avis.

I’m glad I did, I can’t comment on Avis but Sixt were brilliant. Whole process took around 10 minutes, although it wasn’t busy so that may have helped. I booked through auto Europe who were also fantastic, ( will send separate review).

Got car upgrade for free and car was immaculate. I had insurance with Auto Europe but upgraded to zero excess for about £12 a day. For me it’s worth it for peace of mind. There was no hard sell and the girl at desk just simply gave me options.

Return was quick and easy, once I found where it had to go, As it wasn’t exactly clear. Deposit was cheapest by far and was returned within 24 hrs. Would use them again 100% .

Worst Car Rental Experience

Worst Car Rental Experience - rented at car at Zurich Airport, at pick-up was advised that the car is parked on the 5th floor, nobody comes with you to inspect the car or assist/explain anything. As there were some scratches I had to go back down and advise them, even at that point nobody came with. Return was even worse, was accused that I changed two tires... why would I do that if I have road side assistance and fully insured...! Was told that frantic people are liars and yes I was frantic as I had to catch a plane and being accused of something that I did not do!
Have you ever checked what kind of tires are mounted on your rental car? Do you know the difference between All-Year tires and summer tires?
At this point, Sixt is holding me responsible for these "damages" and I am disputing them.

Manchester airport Sixt

This is a review for Sixt at Manchester airport. I thought that I would try sixt after having terrible experiences with the cheaper rental companies operating around Manchester airport. Sixt are based in the rental village with all the major brands. A quick and efficient shuttle bus gets you to the village without hastle...the last time we used a company off site and had to phone the car company and wait for 30 mins before a van turned up and then we had a 10 minute journey and hard sell of insurance. At Sixt We were met by friendly staff and the whole process was hastle free and no hard sell on the insurance after I informed them that I had cover already. We were taken to the car and shown the controls ( this is not the norm elsewhere). The car was new and clean. On return the same courtious service. I will definately be using Sixt at Manchester airport next time.

we rented a car from sixt rental in…

we rented a car from sixt rental in february 2018 from geneva to zurich for 2 days. it was easy enough, so we thought. returned the car at zurich airport and the staff just wanted the key back. never inspected the car. I remembered asking "that's it?" He smiled and replied, "yup, that's it"
We had a flight to catch and thought no more of it. Upon our return to the US, we received an email that we had damanged the car. My husband communicated them, saying it's impossible as we only had the car for 1 night and had parked it at a relatives house. we did not hit anything or go anywhere else. then 3 months later we got an email with pictures of a severely damaged car with dented body parts and big scratches.
Oh no!!! Definitely not us!! In reading the reviews from other who posted, this seem like the normal scam tactic of this sick Sixt rentals
I only wished we had read the reviews before we rented from them
They are a SCAM company. DON'T do business with them!!
