I connected the silverstone customer…

I connected the silverstone customer contact team to ask if I could re arrange my F1 driving experience due to a death in the family and they were able to acccomdate my date change very easily and quickly!

I'll try to keep this short!.....
We went to the VSCC Spring Start meeting on 11th April, the BRDC stand that we always use for viewing was closed for refurbishment NO MENTION OF THIS ON THE WEBSITE when I booked the tickets, the only stand open for viewing is quite a distance from the pit area, is open to the elements and is NOT suitable in any way for people who are not too good on their feet.
Result...there is nowhere currently to get a decent view of the track if you are disabled or unable to walk very far.
We drove 90 mls to get there and 90 mls back, wasted money on tickets, and ended up going home at 2pm because we couldn't get a view of the circuit, needless to say Silverstone quite honestly couldn't care less.
Don't bother going unless you know for a fact that the BRDC stand is open.

However, we do feel it is important to clarify a few points, as the suggestion that Silverstone 'couldn’t care less' or that accessible guests are left without suitable viewing options is not accurate.

Silverstone has four permanent accessible viewing areas available for all events, with additional accessible areas opened for larger meetings. These viewing areas are positioned around the circuit to offer varied perspectives, not solely within grandstands. While we appreciate that the temporary closure of the BRDC Stand due to refurbishment was disappointing, this is something that is unfortunately necessary from time to time, its closure does not mean accessible viewing is unavailable across the venue.

In addition, we offer accessible buggy transport to assist guests who inform us of mobility needs and a dedicated accessibility team on site to support guests throughout the day.

We fully understand the frustration of travelling a long distance and feeling disappointed, but we respectfully disagree with the assertion that there is 'nowhere currently to get a decent view' for any visitor. Thousands of guests with accessibility needs attend our events each year and are successfully supported using the facilities and services available.

We hope this clarifies the situation and reassures you that accessibility remains a priority for us at all events.

It's a great kart track but watch out for track limits

It's a great kart track and the long races are good value BUT a warning about the briefing. They did not appear to make any reference to track limits, and then proceeded to black flag several of the front runners for using a flat kerb at T1, including my son who was black-flagged from the lead of the race without (that I saw) any prior warnings. Losing a whole lap meant little chance of recovery for those that were caught by it. A cone then went out, which advantaged everyone who had not been brought in already.

Not a serious, serious race of course. But don't enforce things that the drivers aren't clear about. Lots of the flat kerbs were apparently ok - or was that just because race control could only see the nearest one?

Broken telemetry

I was really excited to try the new karting track for an hour of racing.

Unfortunately, my kart (Kart 3) didn’t reliably register laps when crossing the timing line. As a result, several of my laps were recorded as taking multiple minutes (including one over 5 minutes), and the system shows me as being lapped 17 times, despite never leaving the track or stopping.

The timing suggests I was alternating between crawling round the track and setting the occasional miracle lap.

It’s a shame, as the experience itself was enjoyable, but the timing failure completely undermined the results, especially given the cost of the session.
I’d appreciate someone getting in touch to review the data from this race.

I booked an open Laps session on 10th…

I booked an open Laps session on 10th April 2026.
It was a birthday present for myself, and looking forward to trying out the circuit.
I had an accident which damaged my legs, back and hands.
I couldn't walk back to pits as I could not put any pressure on my legs.
I was offered no onside medical assistance.
And no refund was offered

Top class customer service.

Logged a request online, got a call soon after and Katie could not have been nicer and more helpful. Talked through what I wanted to do because of my mix up and she sorted it out without any problems at all. Top class customer service!!

Silverstone karting was amazing

Silverstone karting was amazing. Definitely worth the wait. Both adult and child courses were so much fun. The beginner races had a mix of abilities. There were several experienced karters and one or two who were on there for the first time. This caused a couple of accidents.
I had travelled with my elderly parents and unfortunately there was nowhere for them to sit. The viewing gallery upstairs was standing room only.
The Box Box Pizza restaurant had good food. However, the service was pretty much non existent. You order using a QR code and they bring the food.
I had pre paid for the video for the beginner karting and it hadn’t worked. The counter staff were unable to support and I was told to contact customer services. So, I had left feeling very disappointed. However, after contacting customer services the recovery and contact was exceptional.
I’m assuming the issues we had with the Box Box Pizza, the seating and the video were possibly teething problems, as we went in the first few days of it being opened.
