WORST COMPANY EVER

Absolutely ZERO customer service and ZERO follow through. I have at least five tickets, signed quote confirmation, three NO SHOWS, and then completely ignoring all subsequent calls or emails over an almost three month period. Buyer Beware. WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED, especially with Jeff Haynes (initially quoted, we agreed to their online quote, set a date and company no showed 3 times) to submitting a NEW request online with Steffani Miller (Inside Sales Representative Sr SID NEW Business) who also went MIA after a few calls and email exchanges. If you don't want the business, step up and say so. Don't give people the run around. You know who was GLAD to accept our business? UPS! One email, one call, on time and super responsive. Bye Shred It! Will never use your services again and will never recommend your company to anyone. Thank you for nothing!

For 2 years...

For 2 years.... I have been trying to get Stericycle/shred it to bill me for the amount in my contract. So, I renewed my contract and they still cannot get it right. The customer service people say there are so many to read - and cannot follow along why I am frustrated with the company and then they repeat the wrong things back to me. I have tons of reference numbers and have been told many times they will get back with me and I get a "super awesome" email from them saying the ticket has been completed - with zero communication. BUT they value my business and partnership!!!
Then when I let them know there are still problems with my bill, I get a new reference number and to start all over. June 2023 I was so happy it was all figured out and I had a zero balance. Then this week two more bills (1 without an invoice # that they would like me to pay) UGH!!!
I wish I could give a 0 star and warn everyone about them. And now I am stuck in another contract agreement with them:-(

I want to be their customer but they…

I want to be their customer but they refuse to return my calls or answer my questions when I email them. I just get a contract to sign. Sorry, if it was more clear on what you charge and how the service works (a phone call or answer to my simple emailed questions) would have turned me into a customer. Can't do business with a company like this.

They are now the garbage they collect

They are now the garbage they collect. When they were Shred-it they were a good company. Sericycle is a crooked and misleading company who has brought that environment to Shred-it. I agree with others above. Run don't walk to another company as quick as possible. It is hard to put into words my disgust with this entire conglomerate.

Run don't walk away from this company!!!

Despite having a contract and multiple emails with the person "in charge" of account to fix billing still continued to have problems. They finally fixed I thought and processed the credits. One acct it shows credit but they still charge and the other showed a credit they used 2 months then it just disappeared completely.. customer service is terrible and you've always got to "open a ticket" with them just to get to the next person... I REALLY dislike this company

Extremely overpriced

Extremely overpriced. I used them for a one time shred and the bill was double what was expected. Prior to the shredding I called to make sure we were on the same page regarding price and was told we were. I was shocked when I received the bill, we were not on the same page. I called customer service hoping to come to a reasonable price. Since I didn't have a recording of the conversation I was left with a large bill not to mention the excessive Fuel Surcharge. Their customer service is not local and hard to understand. Scheduling was a bit of a problem, they rescheduled me twice.

At first I was impressed with them

At first I was impressed with them. They came when they said they would, picked up the same time. The sales rep was great to work with. Then it came to charging. They overcharged $475! It has been a nightmare getting this refunded. They wanted to give me a credit on my next service. I am not going through this again. It's almost been 4 months.

Run away - Service is Horrible.

Their driver and pick up side of the business is great, but the customer service side of the business is HORRIBLE. They toss you around, they make promises, and don't keep them, they even signed a 2 year agreement and did not honor the pricing. When I called back to the exact person I talked to sign the contract they would not help, not her job, and I spend weeks calling and getting tossed around. Customer service is outsourced to non English speaking persons overseas who have to have someone in the US call you, which they don't, until you call and DEMAND to get transferred. Stericycle owns Shred It and ever since they purchase Shred It the customer service is frustrating at best.

Shred-It - unethical billing practices

I recently used Shred-It for their services and was extremely disappointed with their quote/billing practices, which I believe to be unfair and unreasonable.

I hired Shred-it to come to my law office and shred a large amount of confidential documents. Prior to their arrival, I had received an online quote for their services, which I agreed to. However, when I received their bill, I was shocked to find that they had charged me significantly more than the quoted amount – more than $100.00 in additional fees!

When I contacted Shred-it to inquire about the additional charges, they provided vague and unsatisfactory explanations that did not adequately justify the increase in cost. I feel that I was misled by their initial quote and that their billing practices are unethical and misleading. This is especially true where they already are aware of what these fees are in advance – which in my opinion is fraudulent.

Furthermore, I discovered that Shred-it has a history of negative complaints and negative reviews from other customers who have experienced similar issues with their billing practices. This indicates a pattern of behavior that is unacceptable for a company that deals with sensitive and confidential information.

I believe that Shred-it should be held accountable for their unfair charges and unethical business practices.

This is an awful company to work with

This is an awful company to work with - spend the extra money and go anywhere else. They cannot figure out how to set up multiple accounts correctly, they often continue to mess up routes for our multiple locations. They never brought a key to my location, then when we needed it, they told us they will charge us $50.00 for the key they never brought to my location to begin with. I'm on my 5th call to get this particular issue resolved and it still is not resolved. When you call their call center, be prepared to spend more time on hold than actually speaking with anyone and every single time you call, despite giving them your site/acct # at the beginning of the call, you will have to provide it multiple times as well as every piece of contact information linked with your account, which is the most time you'll actually spend talking to any of their reps. Oh and also be prepared for them to disconnect the call on you multiple times so you have to keep calling back.

Absolutely worst company out there…

Absolutely worst company out there along with its competitor Iron Mountain. Is there no quality shredding company in Toronto. I mean how much more simple can a business get? How can't you get your logistics team organized. Then they make you sign a 3 year term, its a joke.

Their billing is screwed up beyond all…

Their billing is screwed up beyond all belief, and I don't say that lightly. They overbilled me by $2200 and after I made repeated phone calls they admitted that they made a mistake and then wanted an additional $700 instead, like they were doing me a favor. This has gone on now for 6 months. AVOID!

Do not use!

These people are very sly. we signed an agreement a few years ago it was for 12 months. We have been asking for months to reduce collections from every 4 to every 8 weeks. They eventually responded saying the rolling contract has a commitment to revenue so whatever we do it costs the same. Apprently we were made aware, Absolutely NOT. Do not use them.

The absolute worst company I’ve ever…

The absolute worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Customer service is non existent. Despite signing a contract they never contacted me to set up an appointment until I threatened legal action, they were late to the appointment (by a lot), and then got the appointment wrong. They showed up to collect a tote, when I needed to rent one, and they estimated the wrong size tote. The worst 250 bucks I’ve ever spent and I will NEVER use them again.

Don't use this comapny

Signed up with it was Legal Shred, once bought out by Stericycle and Shret-It the problems started. Terrible customer service and billing practices. The customer service call center is now off-shore and you can not get anyone to fix anything. When you work with the Inside Sales Representatives, they still get everything wrong and never follow up. I have wasted hours upon hours of my time trying to get my accounts fixed and updated properly. They will up their fees constantly too, so be careful! I even had a set price for a specific term and they still increased every so many months and could never get my credits or account correct. I have switched to a local company and can not wait to not deal with this company again. Though I am sure they will completely mess up my termination and I will never receive my over $70 credits that they put on someone else's account!

Beware of this company

Horrible company, non-existent customer service, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere or, prepare for terrible customer service, dishonest billing, and a lot of people who care only about taking your money, not about providing good service.

Unreliable. Unprofessional. Uncaring.

I gave this company a one because I can't give them a zero. I booked a one time purge for two locations that are next to each other. The service was supposed to happen within 2 to 5 days. That was almost 2 weeks ago. They only entered one work order for one of locations and tried to schedule that one, but the other work order location is the one that I needed done by the end of the month as I canceled the storage unit. They can't do the storage location because there's no work order created by the salesman who is now on vacation, even though I have called three previous times before he went on vacation and there is a sale contract for the other location that was booked at the same time. Customer service sounds like it's out of the country and also can't really do anything. It's up to the sales person. You never get to talk to the local service provider who can't do anything anyway without the salesman's work order. A terrible business model if you're interested in actually doing the work and customer service. In summary, I do not recommend using this company.

The folks here in Mobile

The folks here in Mobile, AL were great! I had 2 boxes of personal documents that had a ton of access information that I wanted to destroy so I took them to my local ShredIt location and they took my boxes and assured me of their imminent destruction. Since there were so few by their standards they did this for me for free! I highly recommend this honest, neighborly and ethical service to any business in the area! Thank you ShredIt!

Now this is the worst company anyone…

Now this is the worst company anyone would work it. We requested for a one time shredding service Nov 12, shred it took all the details including location, credit card details.
After several call ins, this company finally got someone to send a mail they saying they don’t service my location December 20, after 5 weeks on back and forth.
