Outrageous shipping charges and beyond excessive delays in shipping. Totally unacceptable and they are fortunate that they don’t have their own review sites for individual GW selling sites. That would... See more

Buyer beware
Over the years I have had more negative customer service experiences than positive. FedEx shipping services are horrible and when contacting goodwill middle Tennessee they have zero clue how to handle issues and then are beyond rude and unhelpful in resolving the matter. Western CT Goodwill sells counterfeit items. Buyer beware!!!
Run and Managed By Monkeys
In the beginning I had a lot of good things to say about the Shopgoodwill site, but that was well over six years ago. Unfortunately, since then most of what I have to say is not good at all.
The website itself is never updated. It is very unpredictable at best, suddenly stalling out, slowing down, or refusing to bring up a page. This poses big problems at the end of auctions when timing can be important. I cannot tell you how many items I missed out on because suddenly the site stalled out, the item ended, and thus could not enter a bid.
Then there is the ridiculous laziness in how items are listed, presented, and information is provided. Some of the stores are pretty good with important information like measurements, decent enough photos, and fairly accurate information.
However, most often there are no measurements at all, or very cruddy attempts at tossing in a ruler, or measuring tape at an item (literally) in the photo. Which the majority of the time is meaningless.
Photos are spotty at best, with important features of many items either poorly shot, or not shown at all. Sometimes an item is packed in a cardboard box and cannot be seen at all... figure that one out.
And then there is the supplied information, which most of the time is hardly anything at all, or not at all. Usually its just a boilerplate paragraph that has nothing at all to do with the item.
Then there is the very often peculiar listings of valuable or tasty items that go up for auction but are "pick up only". Despite their being perfectly shipable. My take on this is that someone at that store wants the item, but it has to be put up on the auction site and thus figures if they make it pick up only, the chances are that no one will bid on it. Now if it were oversized, maybe I would understand. But explain to me how the same store can ship every other small lamp, or tea cup and saucer, or 8"x10" framed picture, and then randomly not for those very same items but happen to be antiques, vintage, or obviously sought after. Maybe I'm a bit too suspicious but...
But then there is this one issue that leaves me flabbergasted.
Should you need to change important shipping information in your account, say an address for instance. Don't expect it to take place immediately like every other modern site. I lost three items this way. I decided to have them shipped elsewhere When I made the changes in my account, only one I had started bidding on, the other two no. There was still five to six days left on the auctions. Yet, the shipping information was not updated instantly, in fact by the way things occurred, the shipping information didn't update for many days. And this despite taking extra precautions by sending messages to the stores informing them of the shipping location change just after changing it.
Despite that, the items were shipping to the wrong location, and I never heard or saw them again. Only one made it, and only because I chased down the FedEx driver the day it was to be delivered.
Despite contacting the stores, FedEx (which is no longer a customer oriented service anymore as of a year ago), the stores would not take responsibility for the loses. I was out a few hundred dollars on that. I pointed out to them that had it been eBay, or any other retailer online, account information changes are instantaneous. But for some reason, Goodwill doesn't seem to update their information for days.
I could list many other terrible experiences I've had with this site the past three years, but I think this is enough.
I should have looked for reviews before…
I should have looked for reviews before attempting to shop goodwill online. it is almost like they want to go out of business. You will never see a tracking number or shipped notification. When you finally email to ask, they come back with a rude response. I thought this would be a better way to shop since the shelves are empty in store, but this will also be the last time for online.
They bid on the their own items
They literally have to be bidding on their own items in order to drive up the price. You will NEVER be the only bidder. If you happen to be the lone bidder on an item and the bidding is about to close, a mystery bidder will always jump in to make the price higher. If their bid is still lower than your max bid, you pay more. If their bid exceeds your max, obviously they wont make the sale but it's more than a coincidence that you will see the same item relisted again within a week. This happened to me at least 3 different times and when I contacted them, they said it's because the winning bidder failed to pay. Every single time??? The only explanation is they have some sort of unwritten "reserve price" on certain items and have in-house bidding to make sure they hit that price. They squeeze every single dollar. It may be legal but it sure is unethical
Where do I begin with both shopgoodwill…
Where do I begin with both shopgoodwill and the FED EX collaboration . I finally just gave up on shopgoodwill and the automated crap. usps I even went so far as getting a lock box installed for fed ex that they won't use. so while shopgoodwill got alot of money outta me they will not any longer. YOUR LOSS not mine. The fed ex driver saved a screen shot from months ago to recently lost my new one as delivered it was to the middle of the road where someone run it down...lol
Item listed falsely & deceptive. I bought an item from Goodwill auction online Phoenix Arizona
I bought an item online auction at Goodwill e-commerce Phoenix Arizona. The item was not described correctly. It was listed completely false, wrong brand and there were bad pictures so you couldn't see the brand or model. Wow, whoever made the listing lied and was deceptive. After receiving the item I contacted Goodwill customer service to return it. They said I would not get my shipping and handling back. I tried to argue with them I was a victim and it was their fault. The customer service person would not budge. It's WRONG not to give my money back for their error, lies or deception. The shipping and handling was about 19.00 dollars. Which was almost as much as I paid for the item. I also left a detailed voicemail on their customer service phone line but never received a call back. Totally DISHONEST. I have bought many items from Goodwill online auctions all over the USA and have never been treated this badly. Bad job Goodwill Arizona! I have not shopped and will never shop with Goodwill Arizona again.
Website is a clunky mess
Website is a clunky mess. You get notices that you have a past due for your order and it is because YOU CANT PAY FOR IT. Frequent technical issues, poor user experience design, make this site pure junk.
I buy clip earrings from them
I buy clip earrings from them, shipping is extremely high, handling fees are a joke, and when I get the earrings they are not matched up, broken and useless!!! Do not buy from them. They are in it just to make millions off of us. I am done !!!!
Great Deals, Lots of items
I've bid on a number of items, both winning and losing. I've always received my item with decent packaging. The finds are fantastic for the price. Apparently a lot of reviews I've seen are negative, but I suspect it's mostly people who got something different from what they expected (like they expected something new, when it was clearly a used item), or were outbid and angry for losing, because they didn't read the fine print or examine the pics closely. I'm fine with their no-return policy, you get what you pay for.
What a scam
What a scam, they lie and say there is no issues with things then they arrive in a completely different condition.
Don’t get me started on the “Unsorted”jewelry lots, they are very clearly sorted, they will literally sell you a 200$ box of garbage and broken dollar store jewelry. Never again
shill bidders that…
They employ so many shill bidders that if you do what I do and track every item and see how often it comes back up for bid.
They need to have a class action levied against them.
They are also committing postal fraud.
Beware they leave the bids open past…
Beware they leave the bids open past bidding time to get a higher price even if your the highest price at the time the bid should end.
Be aware if you only bank with One Bank…
Be aware if you only bank with One Bank like I do I have a Capital One and they're not accepting any of your payments they'll try to ask you for a different form of payment if you don't they're not going to remove anything off of your selection mind you I spend more than $1,000 with them with purchases and I just recently had these two purchases not been able to be purchased minding you I called my bank like they told me to and Capital One told me they denied payment and I messaged them with screenshots showing that they canceled the payment. And they asked me do I have another payment which I only use Capital One and now I cant and the sellers I'm messaging are basically telling me to use another form of payment after I told them this is my only form of payment. They're not taking it off of my list I have to I can't bid or anything minding you I spend more than $1,000 I asked them numerous times to remove it one seller said they would remove it but they never removed it. I love shopping at Goodwill stores but the online customer service support is the one at minding you I messaging two sellers and both sellers or pretty adamant on me trying to make another payment with a different payment. After I send them screenshots of their error and I have to pay for this. This is unfair. And I will be complaining to corporate.
How you can charge twice the price of…
How you can charge twice the price of shipping for an item that weighs less then 1 pound is ridiculous. If you want to over charge just make the price higher to begin with. Dont tell me it costs $15 dollars on top of your service fees. Ten dollar items become forty dollars very quickly. Not to mention charging more for open box items then they cost in the store.
Are you serious???
I usually don't leave reviews (bad) about any website in particular because I feel there are worse things out there to spend your valuable time in doing so but this is one of those cases were I feel I have to. Goodwill is all about "thanks for your donations/support, thats what keeps us going, its people like you blah blah blah....". I'll keep this is short and to the point as possible (apoligies in advance). Basically, I won an auction on their site and ended up paying $103 and some change only to have to wait 2 weeks for them not to ship my order, contacted the seller to receive no response so I had to contact their 'HQ'. I ended up receiving a refund because they discovered that "the listing was erroneously posted twice"?? All good on that part but if people are 'supporting you and keeping you going', why waste their time and show how unprofessional you are by not even being able to stay on top of orders and provide decent customer support? To me its a big joke how a business that people support can't even fulfill a simple order. Goodwill needs to step it up a notch and not be just about receiving but also giving back; if everyone decided not to donate, goodwill wouldn't even exist! I suggest they STOP screwing over the people that are donating or spending their hard earned money because it can all go downhill pretty fast.
The most inept and intentionally…
The most inept and intentionally deceptive auction business practices I've encountered, over and over again. Obvious significant damage is rarely noted or photographed and occurs with just about every purchase. If a statue were to be offered missing its head, it would not surprise me for the item to be pictured from the neck down only and with a condition description of "good with some wear." Shipping is always a disaster. Items chucked into a box with no bubblewrap or anything and some paper dropped on top. The just don't give a sh*t.
Pulled an item after the gavel went down wtf !!!
My issue with shopgoodwill is simple I won an item gavel down invoice sent pay and the location is thinking they can back out of the transaction and won't even follow there own policies cause I won the item amf and then want to do after the gavel went down and that's not good business in any practice shame on shopgoodwill I won said item for 680.11 plus shipping and they don't want to honor the sale
Goodwill Online w/Horrendous Shipping Fees
I recently discovered Goodwill Online. I signed up for an account and began scrolling. Ten days later I got an email telling me I had failed to pay for an item I had won. Honestly, I don't remember pushing the place bid button and I never received any type of acknowledgement that I had placed a bid. But ok, maybe I did and just don't remember it. The real shocker came in the form of their shipping fee. For a wornout pair of cheap earring that i paid $10 for, they charged $9.88 to ship fedex. Why couldn't they bother to drop them in a small padded envelope and stick it in there outgoing USPS mail? Stupid! I will delete my account for sure. No more "accidental" purchases with horrendous shipping fees.
The online bidding is ridiculous
The online bidding is ridiculous. I do not believe how the price of stuff is so high . I really don’t believe that people are that stupid to bid up gold plated jewelry to 600.00. I think most of that bidding is done by computers or goodwill staff themselves to run up the bidding price, cause that’s just ignorant
ShopGoodwill and Goodwill in general
ShopGoodwill and Goodwill in general have really gone down hill over the last 10 years, Just when you thought it couldn't any worse. From shill bidders to outrageous shipping fees and to top that all off, it takes 5-7 days just to ship said item.
