Great service, great shirts

Great service and shirt is a perfect fit, Jonathan was a delight to deal with.

I contacted Jonathan Farley at Shirt By Hand about my shirt not fitting well. He asked me to email in some photos, which I did, but he subsequently never responded. Also did not pick up when I tried calling, on two separate occasions. I’ve waited nearly two months now with no contact. Not sure what’s going on, but this has not been a good experience and they do not seem to want to rectify the problem if the shirt does not turn out well. Maybe they do menswear fine, but I would avoid them for women’s shirts.

Edited to update: Mr Farley emailed me about this review shortly after it was posted, saying he was keen to sort this out. I responded to let him know I’m keen to work with him on improving the fit, but since then I haven’t heard back from him again. Really not sure what it would take to get resolution on this; the shirts are not cheap and empty promises are not cool.

I have been getting custom shirts from ShirtByHand for well over a year. As a woman who dresses more 'masculine' than feminine and prefers tailoring, it's been a great way to get the shirts I want that fit me properly so that I can wear ties & bowties etc whilst also having a shirt that fits correctly everywhere. I love that I can very easily make small changes to my measurements by email. I recently got one of their linen shirts are it's fantastic for warm weather, but not too many places have them. Some of my earliest shirts do seem to have a stitching issue in the buttonholes but none of my recent ones do so I think they may have improved that. The price is reasonable and delivery is very fast (within 3 weeks for a custom shirt). I would possible like a few more cloth options but I'm being picky!

Great product, professional service. I met Jonathan when he came to measure me. I found it very reassuring to have that personal contact at the beginning. It will now be a straight forward process if I want to reorder, and I know if there are any issues, there's somebody I can speak to.

Ultimately, I'm very happy with the shirt, which is the main thing. I'm looking forward to ordering more.

Jonathan was personable, efficient, and professional throughout the fitting, and took the time to explore my tastes and preferences, so that he could provide expert advice on the style and finish of my shirt. I felt completely relaxed and comfortable throughout the fitting, and he gave me useful and reliable information about delivery and aftercare too. My shirt arrived within the time expected, beautifully wrapped. It fits like a dream, and the quality of material and finish are excellent. It is really comfortable, feels luxurious, and because it fits me properly, it is very flattering, and - importantly for women - doesn’t gape at the bust. (Having spent many working years in business dress, I now realise I was wearing very ill-fitting shirts!) I am completely satisfied with the excellent value and service, and thoroughly delighted with my shirt by ShirtbyHand.

Most excellent product and the communication was amazing. Delivered in fantastic packaging and with great speed. As a wheelchair bound guy this service was the best as it's very hard to get a shirt collar to fit along with my middle age spread. Will certainly be ordering again in the near future.

I have been getting my shirts from ShirtbyHand now for over a year and I would recommend them to anyone. You get a made to measure shirt so it fits perfectly and the material quality is excellent. If you have trouble finding a shirt that fits perfectly give them a try... their prices are low and customer service is friendly and helpful. I used to spend hours traipsing from shop to shop looking for a shirt that fitted me properly. No more.... now my perfect shirt is just a few clicks away!

Shirt by hand came and measured me at home and talked through the kinds of material and designs I could have. My linen shirt was lovely, a nice colour and well made.

A great range of patterns, materials and many options to personalise each shirt. Well made to your personal measurements to ensure a perfect fit. Shirts arrive quickly and service is second to none.

Excellent from start to finish. Jonathan is great at putting your mind at ease about the whole product and service, and the service is 5*.

Very enjoyable, being able to choose what you get, what you want etc, with massive choice of colour/style, all the while giving advice on what you should do.

Cannot rate highly enough, and will be back for more shirts in 2018.
