My 2018 T120 Bonneville needed its first oil change under my ownership. I gave Shirlaws a phone to make sure they had everything I needed and were open on the bank holiday. I turned up the next day, h... See more

Unbelievably friendly service from the second you arrive. Every time you walk in the door you're welcomed at reception with a smile and an offer of a tea / coffee.
Having purchased a new KTM back in 2023 and having had such a great experience I knew I wanted to deal with Liam Ross again so when he was available we discussed my needs and Liam put together another great deal for me. This time on a new Kawasaki. Liam was extremely professional and any questions I had were answered accurately and honestly. I was kept informed at every step of the process until collection today. I arrived late so Liam was busy dealing with another customer so I took some time to have a look around and headed up stairs to look at some new safety gear and helmets.
The staff upstairs were just as good. Talked about what I was looking for and as there was nothing in stock that I liked we had a look at their online stock and was able to find me exactly what I was looking for.
Honestly couldn't ask for a better service from start to finish and every single staff member made that possible.
Can't wait to go back for my next purchase when the time comes.
5 stars probably isn't enough to cover the extra miles the staff go to give you what you're looking for.
Highly reccomend Shirlaws to anyone looking for a new bike, safety gear, maintenance or servicing.

A great deal done with Shirlaws from what was essentially an initial nosey round the showroom for inspiration to appease an itch that needed scratching.
I popped to the dealership potentially interested in a bigger bike than the triumph scrambler that I already had. I explored several adventure bike options that Shirlaws had with new and second hand offerings from KTM, Honda and Triumph. (There were some really good prices at the time on KTM’s) albeit I had some minor concerns longer term with the brand but was fully assured on the aftermarket support from the dealership.
After several conversations and options being discussed with Liam, we entered in to talks on comparable bike equipment, Bike Spec, deals and Options available.
At this point, I Can only thank him for his patience in humouring me in not really knowing what I wanted without test riding a couple of bikes first to make up my mind.
After a couple of other test rides I ended up on a Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro with my pillion and we really quite liked it. After further discussions on standard and comparable equipment etc and their stock level of bikes, Liam then Pointed me towards a 2024 Tiger 900 Rally Pro that they’d had in the show room for a little longer than the other GT models.
Not being someone that’s vertically challenged, this model now started to actually appeal more to me and my needs.
Liam then worked a bit of dealer magic with me and we agreed on a deal that I was happy with, both on the new bike and with my trade in. (It pays to shop at the end of the month!)
The whole purchasing experience was exemplary and I couldn’t fault it. No doubt I’ll be back for another deal in the future!
Just how bike purchases should be and I’m really enjoying the new adventure bike.
Thanks again.

my bike purchase journey with Shirlaws
contacted Shirlaws on 13th March to see if they had a green black 2024 model ninja 1000sx for sale
Liam from Shirlaws came back to me on the 14th March stating he had one in stock and £200 deposit
would secure bike until I travelled up on Monday 17th to finalise deal
17th March arrive at Shirlaws and Liam informs me that they have a sold bike he can show me (what happened to the one I secured with deposit)?
I gave Liam the benefit of doubt and put down a further £2000 down plus taking the 0% 3 year deal that Kawasaki were offering and signed
for the bike due end March.
Liam informs me on 2nd April bike is due delivery to me on the 3rd so all good and insurance sorted
3rd April arrives and Andy delivery driver rolls bike down ramp and instead of green black its red black and not the bike I ordered
Andy calls Liam and informs him what has happened , I speak to Liam and he states he will solve issue and bike retuned
5th April shirlaws send me an email stating " enjoy our new bike " your having a laugh !!
8th April I send email to shirlaws sales and Liam to find out what is happening , radio silence from Shirlaws sales but get a reply
from Dawn from front office stating Liam is off and his Boss will call.
get a call from his boss stating Liam is off but will get him to call me tomorrow , this now will be a week since told bike will be arriving
9th April I finally get a call from Liam and he informs me he cannot get me Ninja 1000sx in black green but will do me a good deal
on a Ninja 1100sx but 0% finance not available and I inform him I will think about it
10th April I contact Liam and inform him I will take the offer but want to see a pic of the bike before purchasing , this he does
and I agree to pay all in cash
15th April I contact Liam to find out why no complete bill of sale yet and I need registration to sort out insurance
16th April I get call from Liam to state that bike has been damaged during pre delivery inspection and requires a new panel (surely he means fairing) and that he can deliver the bike damaged and then send me the panel or wait till they get the panel , fit it and then get bike delivered .
I tell him I need time to digest what he has told me but in reality I already know my decision
I send Liam a mail later that day stating that I have had enough of the bungling from himself and Shirlaws and want nothing more to do with them and refund monies paid which is done by 17th April.
in summary I wish I had never contacted Shirlaws, that I had taken up the offer from a motorcycle dealer in Bolton offered to me on the 13th of March but I decided to try and keep the sale in Scotland which was a major mistake in my part.
my one last concern regarding Shirlaws are they are going to sell that damaged Ninja 1100sx as brand new when it does not have all the original fairings to some poor unsuspecting person but fortunately that person will not be me .
finally everything that I have stated above cannot be disputed as I insured all communication was by e mail so I have a record of what was said , what was agreed and finally remember BUYER BEWARE

All of the guys there are super friendly and helpful. Bought my first bike after the cbt. KTM 125 Duke. I dealt mainly with Daniel Flett. He went through different options for both the bike and setting up the finance. Not pushy at all and happy to let you take your time which makes a difference when making a decision. Rory did the bike handover when I picked it up and was happy to take the time to go through the bike and answer any questions I had.
Already planning to go back once I can get my test booked.

All staff super cheerful and helpful, which created such a great experience shopping for my first bike. Daniel was very informative and friendly when it came it purchasing the bike and doing all the boring stuff, which didn't make it feel boring at all. Overall in love with my bike, and very pleased with the customer service!

I bought my first bike from Shirlaws, a Kawasaki Z125 and recently traded in that bike for a Triumph Scrambler 400x. The showroom is great, with lots of different bikes to see and try out. I found Daniel Flett to be a fantastic salesperson, knowledgeable about the products, eager for me to sit on the bikes and get a feel for them. Not just look at them. He gave me his thoughts and opinion without being pushy or putting me off any potential bikes. Daniel always have the pros and cons of a bike allowing me to weigh up what it was I really wanted.
After buying my bike I also bought some new boots and gloves. Again, excellent service and great quality products at a great price. 10/10 on all fronts.

Great place, nothing like the Shirlaws of Old. Had a coffee, spent a couple of hours looking at bikes trying to decide on the right KTM to replace my beloved 1190. Made a choice of 2 had a test drive and the KTM 1290 A was for me. Arranged everything there on the spot, sales guys gave me a fair deal on my trade in and talked me through the buying process. Collected the bike the following week and they even made a wee congratulation sign. Don't be put off by the old reputation these guys are brilliant and want you to enjoy the whole bike experience from selection right through to collection 10/10 from me.

It was my first time dealing with Shirlaws and I would happily give them business in the future. Daniel and Scott were both great to deal with and provided a hassle free PX on two new Superduke 1390s.
Would highly recommend.

Been to this store a few times to look at gear and motorbikes for when I was ready to go onto that journay. I was really pleased with how friendly everyone was and awnsered any questions I had regarding the bikes available or the gear making the experience super relaxed and took my nerves away. I ended coming back to get my gear then eventually my first bike from here, they were honest, reliable and chill non of the sale patter some places would try on which was a huge relief. I got Daniel Flett as my sales person when I went ahead with my 125cc as well as with my visits before to make sure that was the bike I wanted to go ahead with and he was super helpful. Ive been back a few times and the staff are always friendly and happy to chat, will defo be back for my next bike and for other things as well :)

"I went to Shirlaws for a bike recall on my Honda Africa Twin. Three hours later, I had agreed to purchase a new KTM 1290 Adventure (R) from Daniel Flett. Having dealt with Daniel for over nine years, his first-class experience, knowledge of motorcycles, and attention to detail are second to none—I wouldn’t have bought from anyone else on the same day. This was the first new showroom bike I had ever bought from Shirlaws. The process was effortless, and despite a small issue, it was resolved promptly in a professional manner. I’d highly recommend them."

Great service from Shirlaws as usual.
Bike only in for an MOT this time, but was chatting to Daniel Flett when waiting about a stained windscreen i was struggling to sort. Daniel talked to the valet team and bike came back to me with the windscreen as good as new.
Extremely happy customer.

Slightly late doing this.
I bought Shirlaws Demo 2024 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX.
It was delivered to my home in Kent!
When it arrived by SOS Transport everything seemed fine but i received it in the dark so couldn't really check it over.
On inspection some days later i found that one of the panniers was scuffed. I report back to Daniel Flett.
Daniel was fantastic and after speaking with the SOS it was established that the damage happened in transit, so hats off the SOS for holding their hands up too. SOS paid for a whole replacement pannier. They collected from my home and took to my local dealer, waited for it to be replaced (lock, top panel etc) and brought it back.
All round excellent service by both Shirlaws (Daniel) and SOS.

I have just taken delivery of my new Triumph Scrambler and cannot recommend Shirlaws enough. Daniel dealt with my initial enquiry and then throughout the whole process communication was excellent and he answered any questions I had. The bike was delivered to my door and I had the pleasure of chatting with Andy. Handover was seamless and I have no hesitation in recommending Shirlaws if you're in the market for a new motorcycle.

Can't recommend Shirlaws and Daniel Flett enough, just bought my first bike and the whole process was first class and stress free with the bike being delivered to my door. Also recommend Louise in the clothing department who was incredibly helpful.

Dealt with Daniel Flett for the purchase of my CRF300L. Very good to deal with from start to finish. Nothing was a problem. Would definitely recommend.

I have been dealing with Daniel Flett at Shirlaws and ordering a bike with delivery has been easy and the process has been organised like clockwork. Would definately buy another bike from here again.

Great service. Nothing was a brother for the shop, they were very helpful. My son bought his first motorcycle from Shirlaw’s, a CB125F. Dan Flett facilitated the sale and the clothing department sorted my son out with safety gear. While in there for my son I saw the Honda VFR1200F for a great price. Dan, again was great at overseeing the sale, he showed me around the bike, told me the history of it and arranged everything to make the purchase easy.
