Very efficient at what they do

Kelly visited us at home and we were so impressed with her knowledge of the market and how to launch the property at the right time to get maximum viewings. She gave us a good percentage in fees too so we signed up. We had a buyer in two weeks!!

From start to finish we were impressed with the friendliness of the staff (Issiy, Harry and Viviania who conducted viewings and were happy to answer our queries and guide us along as the process got going.

Disapointed

I think I know where one of the old property Gazumpers is now. Of course
Its SHIPWAYS estate agents. I fully understand when you offer to buy a property, its on the terms which you are informed of at the agreement point. Not at Shipways, I agreed to buy a property through their sale person on the 16th of March with the agreement of a certain time allowance for them to sell my property. Their sales office was approached by another purchaser on the 17th March who had already sold their property. The Shipways director then did his bombsite deal and cancelled my verbal agreement the day before and chose the buyer he considered in a better buying position.

Shipways (Great Bar)

Shipways (Great Bar) horrible experience. Advice to anyone renting with them becareful of the agreement your signing. Its best to get someone legal to look at your tenancy agreement. I made the mistake and signed quickly trying to comply with the agent as I thought he was being genuine, he just wanted to rent the property to get his commission. Do not complain about anything that needs repairing in the property, they rather evict you than fully comply if they think your making to many complaints. I was served with a section 21, no arrears but becasue i complained and they had to spend the money to rectify the issues. There is no rights for private tenants. When people have the upper hand, they play around with people's lives and don't give a second thought of the impact. I would never ever recommend this company to anyone. If you do use them be very aware.

Shipways (Kidderminster) lied to me…

Shipways (Kidderminster) lied to me about a two bedroom flat not being available due to it still being decorated. I was told i'd be called back when it was available. Upon checking whether it was still up for rent it was gone. They clearly gave it to someone else. This isn't the first time they have treated me this way.

Extremely disappointing experience…

Extremely disappointing experience using Shipways Kidderminster to purchase our home. Communication was poor throughout — emails were ignored on multiple occasions, leaving us in the dark during crucial stages of the process.

We were explicitly told the property was not part of a chain, only to discover later that it was a serious misrepresentation that added unnecessary stress and delays. Additionally, we were given misleading information about why the seller changed solicitors, raising further questions about the transparency and professionalism of the service.

The final straw came on completion day. After our funds had been transferred and the sale was legally complete, we were told by Shipways that we still couldn’t access the property for another hour because the seller was still inside the house. This level of disorganisation is completely unacceptable.

Would not recommend and would strongly advise others to proceed with caution if considering this branch.

Unresponsive

My experience with Shipways has been disappointing due to their poor management of my property. Routine checks were either delayed or completely missed, raising concerns about their reliability. Despite repeated follow-ups, they consistently failed to respond to emails promptly, if at all. The lack of communication and accountability has made working with them frustrating and unprofessional.

Don't give Shipways your phone number

Providing Shipways with your phone number is a mistake. I have never signed up with Shipways to buy or sell a property, yet even now (two years after giving them my number) I receive a couple of phone calls every month. I know that doesn't sound a lot, but it is a nuisance. I block the numbers that call, but they always get new ones to use. They promise to remove me from their system but evidently this doesn't happen. Absolute bloody pain.

Disappointing experience from shipways mortgage services

I signed up for Shipways’s £699 mortgage programme under the impression that it would make future applications smoother and more efficient. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case.

I recently needed an Agreement in Principle (AIP) and reached out for support, expecting a streamlined process since I had already provided ID and paid fees during my original application through Shipways when I bought my house. Instead, I was told I needed to redo ID checks through Credas—despite no one mentioning this as a future requirement when I first signed up.

It took several days to even get a response, and by that point, I had already gone ahead and sorted everything out myself online. The process, which was meant to be hassle-free thanks to the paid service, ended up being more effort than it was worth. The lack of clear communication and responsiveness was particularly frustrating during an already busy time in my life.

I wouldn’t recommend the £699 service based on my experience. It felt more like an unnecessary complication than a convenience.

Warning fo not use Shipways

The service I received from shopways was diabolical from getting tenants to evict of tenants. They didn’t make regular visits to the tenants and they didn’t act when tenants repeatedly broke the contract when we finally evicted the tenants the house was a mess, toilet blocked, razor blades in drains walls damaged needing re plaster. brand new carpets ruined extraction fan blocked thick with grease broken kitchen units. Constant flooding of the bathroom and lack of he’s caused mould to travel down walls and paper to peel. Stools used inside the bath caused damage to the bath well beyond general wear and tear. There TDS to regain the cost of repair wasn’t granted to us so all in all we lost all our savings on constant repairs due to negligence on the tenant part and we’ve now had to sell the house shitways are definitely not the people you want to use to rent your house.

Shipways estate agent in Dudley is un…

Shipways estate agent in Dudley is un friendly, un polite, very poor conduct & based on cheats & lies, never updated me for the sale of my house, I had to keep chasing them for updates. All the time their answer do not worry, sale under our radar, it took 4 months to get completion not forgetting I was on their back to keep chasing buyer & his solicitor.
I am on completion tomorrow, kept chasing them for their bill for the past week but no reply, just today my solicitor produced their bill to me, it is 55 pounds extra than the agreed fee figure of 1.1% plus VAT, equal to 2970 pounds as the contract shows, their bill is 3025 pounds, claiming that the extra fee is money laundering chech but I confronted them with simple question, seller does not go under this section plus money laundering is the job of the solicitor who is handling sale ?? If their conduct was satisfactory I would have paid it but their conduct and manner was not acceptable, this is purely called fraud, this is un lawful , on the contract there are 3 sections, never sign any section unless you have read it carefuly, their manager is an expert in lies & tricks, be very careful & never trust award of them

Shipways - Kidderminster

I have a new nickname for Shipways which replaces the 'p' with a 't'. You can see why estate agents get a bad rep now. Their customer 'care' is awful, with me constantly needing to chase them to get feedback on viewings and to see what interest there had been in the property. They then failed to turn up on a Friday afternoon for a viewing without telling me, thankfully I was hanging around to make sure that all went well - it did, they ended up being my eventual buyers. Lucky I trusted my gut otherwise my buyer would never have got through the front door. Once the sale was agreed, I didn't hear a single peep from them with regards to exchanging keys or deal progress - not even a congratulations on getting the deal sorted.

Avoid like the plague - just use Purplebricks and get your property on Rightmove, you'll do a better job of it yourself than these charlatans.

Shipways Shirley

Shipways Shirley. Horrendous! Quoted by them, 10 days later bombarding an OAP to lower the price by 7% as priced too high?? (By their valuation) passive aggressive on the phone, leave house unlocked after viewings!! Want to arrange viewing to suit them not you, and the best one…. Passive aggressive senior sales lady will call you stating the viewings didn’t go well when the ring camera and the fact I sat outside showed the viewers never showed up!! 😂 absolute disgrace, if you do choose to use them check the small print too as there quote doesn’t show with VAT!!

Shipways Dudley

When trying to sell my late parents house I was not having much luck until Winnie came out to do the market appraisal and told me the true value
We were originally very overpriced but having put our trust in Shipways , Winnie came up trumps and sold my parents house three weeks after is being put up for sale.
We were then able to buy our dream forever home through Shipways
We can't thank the staff enough they certainly go above and beyond, we recommend Shipways to sell and help buy a home
Thank you so much
Mark and family

My Experience of Shipways Shirley

I have had a number of conversations over the last couple of weeks with Lauren and she has always been professional, polite and helpful with her service, I am of course very grateful. I had the privelage of meeting Olly the Lettings Manager on Monday his knowledge, openness, understanding & overall professionalism was very impressive. My first impressions of this young man are extremely high and I have no doubts working with him going forward will help to accelerate my property journey in a positive way.

Worst agent award go's to

After being hounded to see one of there mortgage consultants when we said no to them valueing our house due to have 3 people already and having it on the market, never getting back to us for viewings, numerous calls from different branches for for all the above, to then getting a call asking if I have any properties to rent out and then asking if I had any coming up, honestly this company cannot organise themselves and are clearly the worst of the worst people

Very easy efficient and friendly team…

Very easy efficient and friendly team especially Oli and Lauren.

This is how I felt but now after 3 months of being in the property I an very disappointed. I was promised it would be white washed and cleaned up as it was and still is very scruffy. Also on getting the keys I found out the oven and dishwasher do not work which I raised immediately. Yet I have still yet to have either looked at yet alone fixed.

I have also reported the broken blinds which again are still in a state of disrepair.

In summary don't sign for anything until you are certain all is as it should be and Also don't bother calling up to complain as you will rarly get a response let alone a call back.

It seems once you've signed shipways just wash there hands of you.
