Shelley’s class has opened up a whole new world of crafting for me and I am hugely grateful to have found her on Instagram. I came away feeling I have learnt an immensely valuable life skill. Breathing fresh life into loved pieces is exactly the way to gently walk through the world. Shelley’s directions are super clear and concise, the flow and pace of her class very smooth and one couldn’t ask for a more patient, personable and supportive teacher. Teaching at it’s finest! It was the best money I’ve spent in a while. And what a delight to glimpse at Shelley’s wonderful work space!

I wasn't sure how the class would work via Zoom, but it was excellent - Shelley was very clear (and patient), and we shared photos via WhatsApp which helped enormously and will be useful to refer back to.

Shelley is a great teacher: knowledgeable, patient and approachable. She clearly wants everyone to do well and cares about the quality of her teaching.

I took part in a group session with Shelley and spent a delightful morning learning how to darn, in a new and bold way. Shelley was encouraging, kind in her teaching, and the zoom and WhatsApp learning platform worked really well. I now feel inspired to dig out my old jumpers and use Shelley’s love of colours to put life back into some old friends. Would highly recommend.

Just spent a very happy morning with Shelley learning how to breath life back into my old sweaters - she is wonderfully enthusiastic, highly skilled and gave very clear instructions. Lovely way to spend an hour and a half learning a beautiful new skill - highly recommend Shelley’s course for a beginner or or someone more experienced - thoroughly enjoyable and extremely useful.

I took a mending class with Shelley @_sewingsmith_ and she was wonderful. Excellent class to take if you’re interested in being more sustainable with your clothing and making them last longer. She was very explanatory and such a delight to work with. Thank-you so much Shelley.

Fantastic class - absolutely loved it. I did a 1-1 online workshop with Shelley and it was money well invested! Her instructions are clear and easy to follow and she's got the perfect balance between professional yet easy going! Great for beginners like myself, absolutely recom'mended'.

I really enjoyed Shelley’s class and learned so much. Even though the class is on Zoom each stage was clearly explained and her teaching method allowed for individual feedback on each student’s progress at every point.A very clever method. Shelley is very approachable and easy and made sure everyone felt cared for and positive about their progress. Really worthwhile and has inspired me to create little works of art ( after more practice).

I absolutely loved Shelley’s class.. I wasn’t sure about being able to learn such detailed work in an online forum, but Shelley has a system where that is no obstacle at all.. every student received individualized attention and instruction. I came away from the class learning so much about technique and with a mending project completed that I must say I am very proud of!

Had a wonderful lesson today with ‘sewingsmith’ cant wait to get some holes in my clothes so i can use my new sewing skills.

Just completed my first mend on a blanket that I’ve been wanting to fix up for years thanks to Shelly’s visible mending class.
I made a small error which Shelly picked up on straight away, and she guided me through how to correct it.
She’s just the right balance of professionalism and informality to make it an excellent cohesive learning experience.

Sewingsmith mended a cashmere jumper for me and I actually think it looks better with the visible mending than it did before! I appreciated the photo updates and prompt delivery. Will be using for any mending in future!

I really enjoyed my visible mending class with Shelly. The class was completely accessible for a beginner like myself and I’ve gone away with the confidence that I can complete woollen mends myself and achieve a really attractive result. Thank!

Shelley is a very good teacher, patient and obviously very knowledgeable. Being on zoom doesn’t impede at all. I’ve learnt a new skill and that is very exciting
