Shocking overcharging

Shocking overcharging, absolute minimal maintenance, incompetence, how this company is allowed to continue trading is unbelievable, shocking that leaseholders cannot get rid and choose their maintenance company. Do not buy a property if they are the property management.

Crooks - steer clear

Sdl bigwood are crooks. Over a period of 3 years they supplied no services to the property allowing it to deteriorate, despite hundreds of calls and emails asking for their help. Specially a lady name deborah Cain who did nothing to help. In the end the leaseholders has to clean, tidy and garden the communal areas of the property themselves. The Only thing sdl can do is send out bills and court orders. Disgusting and shocking company.

SDL BIGWOOD are TERRIBLE

This is the worst company i have ever had to work with. We chased them for services for 2 years to have our garden looked after. It was PAINFUL. They then charged us and threatened court orders for not paying bills for services they never provided! ABSOLUTE SHOCKING morally corrupt company. STEER CLEAR of these fraudsters

This company is an absolute disgrace .They are absolutely appalling at managing property .They charge a fortune for a completely indifferent to non existent service .They do not answer E mails ,They don't answer the phone ,are permanently out of the office ,off sick or on holiday .They inflate service charge budgets, They do not account for underspends on budgets .They inflate actual year end expenditure which is not supported by invoices .Requests for invoices to justify actual year end expenditure are ignored ,although it is a legal right of lease holders to see such invoices .They are dishonest in their dealings with sub contractors .Demand payments for work carried out by subcontractors far in excess of the tenders submitted by subcontractors .They do not over see subcontractors work .They cover up breaches of health and safety regulations .They employ subcontractors who ignore gas safety regulations .I could go on .! In no circumstances employ this company to manage your property .They are utterly incompetent and should not be allowed to service or manage property .

Extremely rude and unprofessional…

Extremely rude and unprofessional service management, they keep ignoring all emails and calls. They don't have even the capacity to solve a little issue against my private parking occupied by a stranger. been three months of chasing through emails, calls but all time I call seems the first time as they don't take a reference about the case. All time they give you a different excuses to not take the responsibility and do the job. It's joke of a company and industry after complaining for months and getting nothing..

Disgraceful Customer service.

As the other reviews state, this property management company are absolutely terrible! I have a number of properties, this company is by far the worst property management company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. If you can avoid them, I strongly suggest you do.

Awful company to work for!

Awful company to work for!
Married directors have affairs with horrible women who want to sleep there way up the ladder as they have no ability work wise!
SDL bought CP Bigwood and completely destroyed a good business that had a good culture and made money. All of the good CPB directors jumped out very quickly and left to go and set up their own companies or work for the competition, they must’ve known how bad things were going to get! No surprises that the companies that they set up are performing better than the one they left behind... also no surprise that all of the main clients have followed the good directors and staff- The only CPB directors that are left are the ones that none of the staff respected and were no good!
Everything is rushed and there is no direction, different cringey initiatives are introduced and dropped just as quickly with no explanation!
The leadership is weak and starts with the ceo who is arrogant and rude and does not know how to treat people! The bigwood business is now full of inexperienced staff and friends of the directors who earn ridiculous money while the hard working knowledgable people don’t get any recognition or pay rises and are forced out of the door!
The worst place I’ve ever worked!
Message to the SDL directors: hang your heads in shame, you have wrecked a great company and destroyed people’s lives!

Absolute Joke of a company.SDL have proceed with Legal Actions against us for not paying our service charges...BUT we paid!!Stress and nerves that they cause is unbelieveable!!!!! I hope they will burn in hell!!!

It’s clear to me from the numerous bad…

It’s clear to me from the numerous bad reviews on here that this is not a company to do business with . Like the other customers who have felt the need to write a review I follow in their steps out of frustration. The do not deal with services paid for and do not deal with complaints deriving from the lack of service. I shall be seeking advice on whether it’s possible to have a different property management company to deal with the services they are supposed to provide. Avoid this company if you are looking to buy a lease owned property.

Robbers

Charge a fortune to manage my apartment block.
Do the bare minimum with the upkeep. Literally have to fight for everything.
Phone calls and emails go unanswered.
Late paid communal electric bills, late fee charges that are passed on to the residents. When queried, property manager states she’s unable to access the account as it’s on an old system.
Been waiting 28 days for a light bulb replacement to an outside security light, at the cost of £10, when they take at least £7000 per year from the block. Utterly shocking!
Stay away from any property these cowboys manage!
At least D.Turpin wore a mask when he robbed people.

Criminals!

These people are essentially criminals. There has been a hearing in the parliament about them – just search bigwood and partliament. But of course nothing done!
Very difficult to cite all their unethical practices. They charge extortionate fees, offer no services (this is the least serious problem though), get proprietors to court about petty things (sdl’s terms and conditions define that if they get proprietors to court sdl’s expenses must be paid by the proprietors!), give common areas to parking management companies (other criminals) so proprietors have to pay fines if they park even in their own allocated parking space! Etc., etc. Such a company would have never been allowed to operate in continental Europe, I have lived there for a bit and I have seen how much protection citizens have from predator firms like sdl. Sadly, in Britain sdl are part of the general moral decline and increasing tolerance by the government to the criminals who are taking over the country. My advice is that before you consider buying a property look carefully who the management company is and look at reviews. If it is sdl bigwood (be careful however they use other names too) then do not even think proceeding with a purchase.

Zero customer service

Not had a good word to say about the company over the past 10 months or so. I moved in back in December 2017 and it took me to get in contact with them approximately 6 months after moving in to know who I should even pay the service charge too. Service charge has increased drastically and has been backdated, reasons have been given but ultimately the services provided are not as described and they’re proposing to increase the costs for what they’re already not adequately providing. Tried contacting them to discuss but have so far been ignored, hopefully this will get some kind of response.

Absolutely awful company management…

Absolutely awful company management service, avoid using if you can. We are currently in the process of trying to remove them managing our flats along with the other residents!! ongoing issues now for 2 years, and they will not fix the problems, they only mask the problem, which means more money for residents. Have contacted local fire department as they have breached fire regulations with the doors and panels for over 1 year now, we are lucky there hasnt been a fire!

Property Managers who won't manage your property

A very poorly managed and under-resourced company. They run through property managers quickly, who are over-worked and essentially uncontactable. I have had to escalate issues to their managing partners on several occasions. Their London office is apparently powerless to do anything by themselves, and at any rate is frequently uncontactable. I have had the phone put down on me several times during requests, which is very unprofessional.

Their management of my flat block as freehold managers over the past three years has been terrible. Major issues are not dealt with for months, such as balcony collapse through inadequate maintenance, rough sleepers living in our bin storage room for weeks, car park gate breakdown, foundation issues, delayed major works and safety issues around building access.

To add insult to injury they have been mischarging flats for service charge, having not worked out the percentage contribution of each flat correctly.

If you have any opportunity to advise freeholders on a freeholder manager, I would strongly recommend avoiding this one.

Avoid like the bubonic plague

Avoid like the bubonic plague. Absolutely terrible nay abysmal customer service and charge extortionate fees for doing nothing. Property purchased and they were the maintenance company. Sent disgusting bully tactic chasing letters for fees without any prior contact as to who they are. Get you to do their job for them, never call you back or do what they say they will when you finally get an answer - at all levels right up to 'senior' management. Full of more bull than a cowshed, blame everyone else (past employees) or just simply ignore you and get all their facts wrong when dealing with you. Please do not enter into any business with their Birmingham property department, you will sadly regret it - and my deepest sympathy is with you if you already have a property maintenance contract with them.
