Moving Australia to France, They stole expensive items into my bags and personnal boxes. The shipment also arrived late.
They don’t want to refund anything, I’m very disappointed.

Everything went smoothly with the move of our things from Canada to Switzerland. There were the inevitable questions along the way -- things like do we need to repack certain boxes, some legibility issues on the manifest, what forms are needed. Our move manager (Valeria) was very quick to respond and answer our questions. Our things arrived in good order.

Schmidt Global supervised my move from Australia to France in partnership with an Australian company. I am very satisfied with the entire process. Although the waiting time was longer than I expected (4 months in total), I had a very good experience and only dealt with friendly, helpful, and efficient people from all parties. No additional or hidden fees, which was my main concern.
I compared my expenses with friends' who had chosen a different company for the same move with no door to door service, own drop off and pick up and extra customs fees upon arrival. I had none of these issues and once all costs were added up, the total prices were pretty much the same.
All my possessions, which included a large painting and some very fragile glass and china items were retrieved intact and clean. Even my clothes barely needed airing despite months in containers and warehouses. A special thanks to move managers Jennay and Valeria.

Schmidt provides professional global moving services with reasonable cost. I compared their pricing with 5 others company, their is the cheapest. Their service is comprehensive, real door to door service. Their staffs from both sides handles my boxes professionally. 5 stars! Highly recommended.

Schmidt helped us tremendously with our move from the US to Spain. They made the process of bringing our belongings into Europe so easy, and they were incredibly organized with the actual delivery and unloading logistics. Ashlee managed our move expertly. I would highly recommend them for anyone moving internationally.

“My move from Canada to Germany was excellently managed from start to finish. The entire process was punctual, reliable, and highly competent. I would especially like to highlight the friendly staff, who were always helpful and professional. Throughout the whole relocation, I felt well taken care of and can wholeheartedly recommend this moving service.”

I wish 0 stars could be an option. 100% do not use this company. I should have read the reviews more. We used to use this company for work for relocations but we will no longer.
It’s been 4 weeks since they packed our stuff and it has still not left the origin country for the new country. And they provide NO customer service with simply saying they have no control and can do nothing.
Atlas and Gosselin are way better options. I regret my choice so badly. 😭
Update: it’s been 9.5 weeks now and we STILL don’t have our stuff. After the freight forwarder they chose went bankrupt, the order was cancelled and they had to submit a new order to the shipping line. Now 1.5 hours prior to delivery, the delivery was cancelled and we are being told we have to wait another 6 days. The partners this company chooses to work with are awful and unprofessional. And the lack of communication is truly frustrating. The shipment tracker I paid for hasn’t even been updated in more than a month. I was promised our delivery would be expedited and prioritized and it’s clear that is not happening everything. And it is near impossible to contact Annisa, our move manager. I can’t even fathom providing 1/8th of the service to my people relocating as they have to me. It’s as if they’ve never relocated anyone before.

I have used Schmidt Global twice and have been very happy with both experiences. My shipment arrived safely and they were very communicative and helpful throughout the process.

Initially, the contact was good. • However, I only had 2 m3 to ship and was informed that there was a minimum amount of 5 m3. • I was about to find another shipper when the original contact reverted to me with a reasonable price for the 2 m3 intended. • I double checked that the proposed dimensions of the crate were acceptable: both to SCHMIDT and – via them – to the Thai shipping agent – and was assured that it was. • I spent quite a few hours providing accurate Google-based maps of both the final destination – with GPS coordinates – and showing three different "zoom" spreads – Wide, Medium, Close – with the track to follow, road names, telephone numbers and even road access limitations, with timings etc. • No issues there: I prefer to be 100% accurate from my end. • On the promised day of arrival – texted for 09.00 > to 11.00 – and having hired a heavy-duty forklift for half a day with warehouse storage, at the given time there was an absolute 'No Show' – and NO connection from the Driver. • Had I not called the offices in Netherlands – from France – I would never have known WHAT was causing the delay. • As it was – after a series of phone calls between my connection Agent and her Logistics Department, the net result was a rescheduled delivery for 09.00 the next day. • RE-hire of Forklift truck for another half day (on top of the now whole day for which I was being charged by my supplier.) • Time of promised arrival was again delayed – until 11.30 am. • The Driver(s) – despite having been supposedly given ALL of the collected address information – STILL needed me to resend them the coordinates and maps. • My experience of Dutch people is that they are generally punctilious and efficient: this experience proved that this is not always the case. • In fairness – granted – there was a mess-up by the Drivers who didn't get all their ducks in a row. • OK – understandable. • However, THEIR mistake cost me almost €400/- and when I suggested that I should be compensated by the company insuring my Crate to the equivalent value, they 'slithered' out of the issue by offering me only the minimal degree of insurance as compensation. • Everyone can 'have a bad day' and be beset by unfavorable circumstances. • HOWEVER – an ETHICAL company would want to 'make things right' with their client – not use 'sleight of hand' to wriggle out of carrying the responsibility for what was in this case, entirely THEIR fault. • Summary: Could I recommend this company...? • I will be happy to re-edit this commentary WHEN and IF I receive my crate in Bangkok within the promised time frame. • In the meantime: CAVEAT EMPTOR. • Do EVERYTHING you can to meticulously record – factually, on paper and photographically – EVERY interaction you have with this company. • The chances are you'll be OK: but in case an 'icky' occurs, better to be fully covered and backed-up by irrefutable evidence: because a company whose professional ethics are so able to sideline their Customer Service responsibilities in exchange for maintaining the sanctity of the bottom line, is one that needs to be most assiduously monitored.
12.11.2025. ● UPDATE: Despite the effort at showing 'goodwill' below, one month later and I STILL neither have a confirmed DEPARTURE date for my shipment NOR any further contact from the company. I would opine that following both the above report and their response, it should be up to SCHMIDT to contact ME with any compensatory proposals: not the other way around. Good Customer Service is PROACTIVE - NOT 'reactive' - as per the suggestion below. However - I'm not holding my breath. I'll be happy to amend this report if there is EVER a satisfactory outcome.

Very disorganised and the service Very poor. There was minor damages on a table that they assembled but insisted that I signed that everything was delivered and fine .I took photos of the damage and took it up with the agent who passed on the responsibility to the original agent in Dubai. They also messed up my desk did not assemble it correctly so I had to buy a new one .overall experience Very unprofessional and unreliable would not recommend them if anything goes wrong they will not take responsibility.

🚨 SCAM WARNING – BEWARE 🚨
I can’t even begin to describe how angry I am about this company. After moving back from the Netherlands, I chose them because they promised fast air shipping and a stress-free experience. What I got was a disaster. My shipment showed up nearly a month late — nowhere near the delivery date they guaranteed.
Then came the real insult: they claimed my goods were almost twice the volume I’d originally shipped overseas. All they offered as “proof” was a photo of two pallets wrapped in black plastic so I couldn’t verify a thing, and they refused to release my belongings until I paid nearly double the original amount.
When everything finally arrived in the U.S., I measured each box myself. The total volume was about half of what they charged me for — and several boxes were completely empty, clearly there just to bump up their numbers. Even the packing crew hinted that the office often exaggerates the volume and told me I should demand evidence if it looked off. I wish I’d listened.
This isn’t just bad service — it’s a scam. Don’t be fooled by the glowing 5-star reviews; they don’t reflect reality. If you value your money, your belongings, or your sanity, stay far, far away from this company. I

⚠️ SCAM WARNING ⚠️
We recently relocated back from the Netherlands and chose this shipping company because they promised quick air delivery and a hassle-free process. The reality was the opposite. Our belongings arrived almost a month later than the delivery date they gave us, and they claimed our shipment volume was nearly double what we originally sent overseas.
They provided only a photo of two pallets wrapped in black plastic — no way to confirm their measurements — and demanded nearly twice the payment before releasing our things. When we finally received our boxes in the U.S., we measured everything ourselves and found the volume was only about half of what they had charged us for. To make matters worse, several boxes were completely empty, apparently just to inflate the space used.
This experience felt like an outright scam. No matter what they promise, I’d strongly advise avoiding this company.
The 5 star reviews here are most likely not actual customer experience. Even the packing team told us that by their roigh estimate there was close to 4 C.m. or so and if the main office told us there was more then we must demand proof. We didnt pay much attention to it back then but now it all makes sense. This scam is just a standard way of operating.

We booked our move from the UAE to Switzerland using ELL Worldwide Movers, based in UAE and Schmidt dealt with all of the shipments arrival to Rotterdam port, customs clearance and delivery. The communication throughout was excellent and they provided all paperwork to be filled out and ensured it was correct leading to a smooth customs clearance and the goods were delivered in time! Would thoroughly recommend Schmidt to others movers!

We were referred to Schmidt Global Relocations by good friends who used the company to move from Switzerland to the USA.
Our to move was from New York (USA) to Glasgow (Scotland) and I have a lot of things to say about it:
Pros:
- Sales person was lovely and accommodating, and gave us a great price. Most companies only wanted to ship full containers, but Schmidt was willing to ship shared.
- The guys who came to pick up/pack our stuff were nice (more on that in the cons). The guys who came to deliver/unpack our stuff were nice (MUCH more about that in the cons).
- All companies we got quotes from told us about 8 weeks for our own container, 8-12 weeks (possibly more) for a shared container. Schmidt broke that record and got the shared container goods to us in 7 weeks. That was very impressive and appreciated.
Cons:
- PACKING: The guys who packed didn't bring enough packing materials and were highly unskilled. They didn't want to disassemble almost anything (except the beds and mirrors from our dressers) which caused many issues for the rest of our experience. We offered to disassemble some items for them and they said No, it wouldn't make it smaller in the end (which was untrue - they just were short on blankets). They ended up putting things in giant wardrobe boxes. If the items were disassembled & wrapped in cargo blankets it would have saved us a LOT of space.
- PACKING AND PURPOSEFULLY MAKING OUR SHIPMENT UNNECESSARILY USE MORE CU METERS THAN PLANNED: I had given the sales person a number (based on a virtual inspection via internet that Schmidt set up for us). The size came to about the same as what we got from 4 other companies. Still, I told the sales guy, we're saying 15 square meters but what if we have 17? I figured 17 was going to be the MOST it could POSSIBLY be if we added anything else to the shipment... as we all know those things DO happen as you're doing the final pack. We ended up at nearly 18 square meters (not possible based on all the analysis). When I complained to management, they said it was actually more and they were doing us a favor by only charging what the terrible NY company stated the shipment size was. They did not look inside the boxes. Packing was substandard and the packers were always in a rush to get in and get out.
- COMMUNICATION AFTER PICKUP: It was DREADFUL. I knew it was a shared container and asked for updates on when it might be sent. I received VERY few responses that often took days and only got those when I acted like an aggressive American. I'm not going to detail that the moving coordinator at one point told me to ask the NY pickup company about the status and how I got berated by the NY pickup company for talking to them since that's breaking protocol. Then I was told not to contact the NY pickup company again (which I didn't want to even do in the first place). Further, when I did receive status emails, they seemed to be copied and pasted. When I asked: "Can you explain what that means?" I had to wait 2-3 days for the moving coordinator to find out as she said she didn't know (but still sent me the email with the information without making sure SHE understood it). At some point, she sent me a "reminder" email of how I can check status on their site. That wasn't a reminder -- it was the first time I received the link. VERY frustrating. Communication was AWFUL. I don't really know what the coordinator gets paid to do.
- ARRIVAL OF OUR 'STUFF': A lot was broken - no surprise. We had what amounted to about $7k in damage & it looks like we maybe have just agreed to about $3k in insurance settlement -- but until I see the payment, I won't believe THAT. Everything moves slowly still. Things that were broken: Both beds center supports (which were not disassembled properly so sheered off). Same for 2 dressers. Only one plate and one vase was broken but our rowing machine had the electric part smashed. I then had to go about finding a replacement part. It was a hassle. As mentioned, the guys turned out to be nice, but we had to fight the ones delivering to reassemble the bedroom set (the only things that were disassembled by the original crew). They DID do it with a lot of pushing, but we were also promised they would unpack and place all the furniture which they half did. They placed and then left it for us to unpack (we were aware we were responsible for unpacking boxes, but our understanding was they'd pull off the cargo blankets/tape from furniture - they didn't and fortunately I had a scissor). I later learned from the delivery guys why they were late to arrive and that they then were rushed because they had to catch a ferry to their next job. They were trying to catch a ferry so sticking around our place to assemble was making them even later.
The price and timing was great, but the experience has left me upset and wishing I had used another company. Don't recommend.
