The sales process from initial enquiry was very smooth and discussions held about the car and the purchase were handled professionally. Only reason this was not 5* was that we were kept waiting for 1... See more

Disreputable and untrustworthy- steer well clear.
If ever there was a company to give used car dealers a bad name it’s Saxtons.
We bought a Range Rover from them and even before it left the forecourt the apple car play didn’t work. Then in under 24 hours of ownership the engine warning light came on and the car became undriveable.
Rather than apologise and seek to help, we were quickly dismissed by our salesman and the Sales Manager (I am afraid that Saxtons won’t let me name either of them in this review but the name of the Sales Manager is publicly available on their website), refused to take our calls. We were advised that there was no cooling off period and were advised to contact a recovery company under the warranty (more on the warranty later). Recovery mechanic came, ran a diagnostic check and multiple faults appeared - these were not new faults according to the mechanic but long standing ones that had merely been cleared and not acted upon by Saxtons. We therefore rejected the car and arranged for it to be returned to Saxtons who wanted to inspect the car and run a full diagnostic assessment. The after sales team, despite repeatedly informing them that we had rejected the car, continued to give the impression that they controlled the next steps in our rejection of the car and made clear from their perspective that repair was the answer. They refused to give any timeframe for how long any internal process would take other than it can take up to a week to assess a car (despite the recovery mechanic taking less than 10 mins to carry out a similar diagnostic). The next we hear is an email from our warranty company telling us that a repair of our car had been authorised by Saxtons. This is immediately queried by us - it’s our warranty and we’d been clear that no repair would be authorised as we’d rejected the car. We wanted to understand why a claim had been raised by Saxtons on our policy without our consent. No reply from Saxtons. We therefore raised a formal complaint to the he who must not be names Sales Manager. We called and asked to speak with him - and were promised he’d call back. He didn’t. Someone else who I can’t name responded instead and, to her credit, was responsive and courteous - in stark contrast to our experience of Saxton’s employees. She acknowledged the failings in service and the fault with the car, albeit describing it as minor and easily repaired, and encouraged us to allow them to fix the problem. This persistent push away from exercising our statutory rights was a theme throughout our dealings with them. We declined repair and asked for a refund. This resulted in finally the mystery Sales Manager calling to profess his deep sorrow for our experience, that this was not illustrative of how he and his team work, that I had his full attention (now) and what could be done to keep our business. He said that his team had lessons to learn from the process. His team was only a small part of the issue I explained and it was his conduct that had particularly resulted in our disappointment in the service and our unwillingness to consider repair. It was clear that this last ditch engagement was not to apologise but to avoid the cost and hassle to them of a rejected car. This duplicitous and disingenuous approach to customer care by Saxtons was thinly veiled and unsurprising given our experience. We proceeded with rejection and after further delay and chasing by us the money was returned.
The second issue relates to the misselling of the warranty. Prior to sale, I explicitly asked the salesman I can’t name what restrictions were on the warranty. None he said, you can claim as often as you like and there’s no limit on the value of each claim. We proceeded to purchase the warranty on that basis. It became apparent in due course that in fact the warranty had a £5k per claim limit. When queried, we were advised that there is no way their salesman would misrepresent the terms of their warranty - something we might have been prepared to accept if they displayed an ounce of integrity in our earlier dealings with them.
The sharp practice displayed by Saxtons throughout is precisely why we will never use them again and would encourage others to do the same. They pride themselves on high volume sales and once sold, they wash their hands of responsibility for any problems and immediately place it on the hands of the warranty company. They turned, what should have been an exciting and fun experience into a stressful, expensive and wholly disappointing episode.
My strong advice would be to be very careful before purchasing a car from Saxtons. There are numerous reviews of the kind I have given which point to our experience being far from the exception. They are unscrupulous, untrustworthy and to be avoided at all costs.

Excellent Service Ismail Janati & Luke Briggs
I had a fantastic experience with Saxtons from start to finish. Ismail Janati, was excellent—he answered all my questions thoroughly and arranged a test drive without any fuss. Although I didn't like the first Range Rover Vogue, after looking on their website and showing him two vehicles, he took us to the back and showed us without any hassle. He was very cooperative with my requests and made sure both my wife and I were completely happy throughout the process.
To finalise everything, Luke Briggs stepped in and was just as impressive. He ensured the process wrapped up seamlessly and didn’t fall short in any way.
A big thank you to both of them and the entire team at Saxtons. 5 stars from me for outstanding customer service and a smooth, hassle-free experience!

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding service provided by Michael Du Preez from Saxtons.
From the very beginning, Michael showed a truly professional and client-focused approach. His knowledge of the market, combined with genuine passion for what he does, made the whole process smooth and reassuring. What I valued the most was his patience, understanding, and the care he showed towards me as someone with limited English. He made sure I felt comfortable, informed, and supported at every step.
It is rare to meet someone so dedicated and attentive. I sincerely hope that in the future I will always come across professionals like Michael.
Highly recommended.

Our sales person was called Michael
Our sales person was called Michael. He was very professional and nothing was too much trouble. Everything we asked he could help us with. We had been to other dealers and they did not seem interested. We bought a lovely Range Rover autobiography in the same day. Now that’s service. Thank you Michael.

The only downside of it is- Saxton as a company doesn’t seem to offer complimentary items when you purchase cars.
Few dealerships i have dealt with over the years. Do offer complimentary items when a customer purchases a car.

Misleading car specifications As you well know (or should know if you’ve spoken to any of the Saxtons’ employees / managers I have spoken to), I was only informed of the cars specifications AFTER I had purchased the vehicle!!!
The car I purchased didn't have all the specifications as advertised on the Saxtons website (apparently it's hidden away in the Terms & Conditions that Saxtons can't be held liable for any misleading information they have on any cars on their own website!)
As you should already be aware, I have contacted your customer services department who apparently forwarded my email to a sales manager who I have had several e mail exchanges with but with no meaningful resolution!!
I have contacted the customer services department, as I stated in my previous message!!!
You are more than welcome to contact me directly (your sales team have my contact number and email address) if you have anything more, or different, to say

Resolution Sorted Finally..
I had problems not long after purchasing my vehicle back in Sep 2025 and issues right up until April 2026. This would be 5 stars if my experiences and service provided were as good from the start and would be 5 stars if L.B & Sarah managed my issue from the start. L.Briggs looked over my account from April 2026. Sarah in Aftersales also stepped in with L.B who managed to get a quick a speedy resolution for me and everything sorted. Big thank you to L.B and Sarah for sorting.

Nice and easy does it
Just purchased a car via Saxtons. Not only was the price the best I could find, it was also a very easy process. Which I was led through by MattW and Jenna - both very helpful.
