Our granddaughter asks us to co-sign for a college tuition loan. Easy enough to do and the first interest rate was below 10%. Third and fourth interest rates were 18%!!! Absolutely shocking. I was told it was because of her not having good credit. Imagine that. An 18 year old student with no good credit. To me Sallie Mae is just a money maker trapping students with unpayable debt. And yet every day I get requests for me to co-sign for more! Corporate greed.
