Did NOT think through how long it takes to fill. Just have to sit 30 minutes to fill.
Buy a walk in shower with seat and jets.

I should have gone to a showroom where I could have practiced getting into and out of Tub. Reason being there is little room getting past door and then getting out of way of door to be able to close. I'm not sure if there are differ size tubs, but the one I have is small. I'm 5'7" and weigh 175 pounds. I live alone and in good physical health. If I should have some physical difficulty, I would find it hard to get in and out on my own. Bottom line, visit showroom before purchasing. They are expensive.

The worse company i have ever dealt with. The measurements the so called doctor took were completly wrong. I could not fit into the tub.
Now one month later i am still trying to get my drposit of $2000 back without success.

Tub was purchased in January of 2025. The installation did much damage to the walls of the bathroom even though the finished installation was acceptable. After a few months the rain shower head sent a stream of water onto the painted wall soaking to the point where paint began to run. Called customer servic4 and it took several weeks before a service rep showed up. They repaired the loode connection to the wall but said they would order the new shower head and have it sent to my home. After a couple of weeks I contacted customer service rep did not place the order.
More recently the door seal began pulling off and customer service was called again. They said they would contact the service tech and have them call me ASAP. It has been over three weeks and have not heard from a service tech, Today, December 31, I contacted customer service again to complain and got the same response. They will contact the tech and have them call ASAP.
Bottom line is their customer service sucks. In addition, the product is not all that great. If you select their smaller versi0on and you are over 5 foot tall you can not completely cover yourself with water unless you scrunch down.

the tub itself is really well built and feels safe, which is great. installation was mostly smooth, and customer service was friendly. my only gripe is with the jets—sometimes the pressure isn’t consistent if you try to run multiple at once. still, overall happy with it and it makes bathing much easier and safer

We purchased a safe step tub in June 2025. Unfortunately, we had one issue after another with customer service after the sales consult. We have prepared a letter detailing the problems we faced that will be sent to the president of the company.
We like our tub but should love it. This is an expensive unit. Would we buy another one? Not based on our current experience.
I am giving the overall experience 3 stars and can only advise others to:
1-Research options, 2-make sure to learn about the codes in your individual cities i.e. Power/Water etc. especially if you are in a condo.
Be aware there are some design things that might make the tub a little odd to use. 1-the handle to close the door is stiff and hard to close if you have shoulder problems. 2-the selector for shower/tub does not have a true middle stop/select position so it is easy to leave it in an open position where water can drip. 3-while it is a tub if you use it to shower even when sitting down it is easy to step on the drain stopper and start filling the tub.

The Step In Tub is well constructed customer service is excellent however they should fix the problem of the Jets when the fronts are on alone. They work fine when the red jets on a long day work fine but when you put both on there was no pressure.

The installation was OK, but the caulking is splitting around the tub. I have a major problem with the water as it stings my eyes and face while using the hand held wand. My body itches while in the tub, and afterwards. Perhaps it's in the tubing.
My salesman was obnoxious and kept referring to his mother-in-law when I was concerned about my height 4'10". He told me she is 4'11" and that she can reach everything. We'll, I cant reach the foot jets or the hand held wand, or any controls.
Please let me know what can be done about this water problem. Thanks

The customer service is rude and the company targets unsuspecting elderly. The company hires unprofessional installers. The company pressures elder clients into signing approval of the work. Then will not fix the problems with installation.

The walk in tub is a great help with my bad back. The jets free up the stiffness and make me more mobile. So relaxing and helpfull.

I just wish there was a way to fill it with water without sitting in the tub freezing. I never get a full tub because I don’t have the patience to sit and freeze. I usually just shower in it. There isn’t much room to stand under the shower.

After installation the door didn’t seal properly. Water leaked onto the floor which then leaked through floor and onto the ceiling in the living room and kitchen
I flled a claim with safe step which was declined. Cost us $1200 to fix it. At one point they sent a technician, he tightened the door. THEN he denied doing anything, but it doesn’t leak anymore.

Toilet installed was a piece of crap.
Clogged up too easy with not enough water flushing. Service guy Brian was great.

Run don't walk away from this company. I purchased a "Signature" walk-in and the first install did not have the correct valve and the hand held. The second "install" put the hand held in the wrong place. The third "install" was to put the hand held in the correct place but behind the panel was a hodge podge of drywall that was not green dry wall. I purchased in June and it took until October to get them to fix it correctly. Oh, and at first they said they would give me a quote for the third "install"

The Safe Step is exactly what it says, “safe step.” I feel very secure in bathing and showering in the safe Step. I cleans with ease and is very comfortable.

Alaskan BUYERS BEWARE!! I bought this tub for my father in 2020 for an exorbitant price and we have had nothing but problems ever since. The air compressor has broken down and replaced 2 or 3 times; the drain seal was not tight at installation leaking water, unseen, for months into the crawl space causing black mold to form. Each time I have called for repair a so called repair ticket was created but nothing happens. You have to call constantly until you get to a manager before anything happens. Case in point, the air compressor is again not working, I called on September 2, 2025 for repair. Heard nothing, today, October 17, 2025, I called again, verified a repair ticket had been created then was informed that the replacement part had been sent to the repair technician several weeks ago. So the repair tech has the part and the repair ticket but has not bother to call me!! Seems to me this company is only concerned about selling their defective product then actually providing good customer service when a repair is needed. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN!

My 79 year old father had one of these Safe Step Tubs installed in his house and while he did like it he always complain he was always too cold when using it. After initially seeing it I though the workmanship on the install was pretty lack luster for what he paid for this thing (The caulking work alone was pretty bad, I'd expect higher quality work for the price point.) but I didn't say anything at the time because he seemed to enjoy the tub. Little did I know what a nightmare this tub was going to be....
After he passed away I bought the house and the first time I tried this tub myself as a shower I learned it wasn't installed level so any water that hit the back wall would run right off the side onto the floor. (Installing a curved shower rod after the first time easily fixed that problem.) Next I tried to use the actual tub and while sitting in this thing for 15 minutes waiting for it to fill up I ran out of hot water. (I specifically remember the sales man telling my dad his water heater had plenty of capacity (what a blatant lie). Then winter rolls around and the whole bathroom is incredibly cold... come to find out the installers removed all of the insulation from an outside wall below the tub, pulled back all the blown in insulation out of the attic to run the electrical and didn't bother to put it back in place, as well as removing the insulation and vapor barrier in the crawlspace basement to run plumbing and they just left it bare open to the crawlspace.
The worst problem was they removed the toilet to install the tub and must not have even have bothered to put on a new wax ring on because the toilet leaked for two years and ended up rotting out the plywood floor plus the underlying sub floor.
Some other things to mention about this tub... Taking an actual shower in this tub is challenging because there is hardly any room to stand.. plus your are constantly stepping in or on the drain. Cleaning this tub is also frustrating because you can't clean half of it from the outside because the door swings in blocking half of the tub, and trying to clean it while in it is impossible because there is no room to bend over. The bottom of the door which you can hardly reach because of the spacing is constantly moldy too.
I'm glad my dad enjoyed the tub but I'm also glad he passed away before having to deal with any of the problems this company caused. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this brand/company.

My parents who were 88 and 90 at the time purchased a Safe step walk in tub and paid for the company to install it. The cost was very expensive - more than $20,000 even with their discount. They used it less than 20 times and when they went to sell their house just months later, the inspector found damage and mold from improper installation. A complaint was filed with the company, asking for assistance with the more than $10,000 required to remediate before the house could be sold. We received a one sentence answer in an email that the company would not assume any responsibility in this matter.

The installers were very professional. The entire installation of the Safestep walk-in tub went smoothly. The operation of the tub was demonstrated and explained thoroughly.
