It appears the scope of waste on-site was larger than initially shown, including several items that require special handling — such as the third fridge, compressor, and tube lights. These fall under regulated waste categories with disposal fees that are set by environmental authorities, not by our crew. The team explained the extra costs before proceeding, as required by law, but we understand how this could feel unexpected and frustrating in the moment.

We also acknowledge that communication could have been handled much better. Even when clarifying pricing or logistics, courtesy and transparency come first — that’s on us. We’ve already addressed this internally with the crew and added an additional layer of quality control for all future jobs.

On the second day in question, the team was already on their way to your property when you decided to leave. We have vehicle trackers in place and can provide the planned schedule to demonstrate this.

On the first day in question, the crew’s task was to collect the items, load them, and transport them to the nearest recycling station. I can also share the recycling receipt with you as proof that everything was disposed of promptly and responsibly.

From my understanding, you were present while the crew was working, so I am unsure why such statements have been made. It also seems that some of your impressions may have come from information suggested by another company. I would encourage you to rely on your direct experience with our service rather than third-party opinions.

Regarding the review you mentioned, I want to respectfully point out that it does not reflect the facts of the service provided. While you are, of course, entitled to express your feelings, any public review must be accurate. Otherwise, it risks being considered defamatory, as there are no grounds to support the claims made.

Your review reads like a tale of expectation and disappointment — one we never wish to author, but alas, here we are. I can assure you, there was no “shadiness” at play — only the familiar chaos that sometimes accompanies waste collection logistics in the heart of London.

From our review of your booking, the photos submitted suggested roughly six cubic yards of waste, and yes — you even secured our same-day booking discount (a fine choice, I might add). However, upon arrival, our crew found more than double the quoted volume, including the additional piece of furniture.

Now, here’s the rub — we can’t lawfully or safely collect more than the volume paid for without adjusting the fee. But the crew, ever the professionals, did what they could within the paid limit and took much more volume, completing part of the job to the best of their ability.

I understand your frustration. Truly. Your mother waited, plans shifted, and communications faltered — that’s on us, and it’s not the precision we strive for. But I assure you, Rubbish Collectors doesn’t trade in deception; we trade in transparency, efficiency, and respect for the work we do and the customers we serve.

We’ve taken your feedback seriously — clearer updates, better scheduling, and pre-collection confirmations are now part of our refined process.

You’re right: we didn’t make it on the day, and that’s on us. Heavy traffic plus recycling-site cut-off is an explanation, not an excuse. We aim for precise ETAs and same-day rubbish removal; we missed the mark here.

On pricing: our photo quotes work well for most collections, but garden waste with heavy stones is tricky. The images you sent didn’t fully show the weight/volume on site. When the crew arrived the next day, the actual load was significantly larger, which moved it into a higher bracket. They offered to complete the full collection for the adjusted fee; we understand you chose not to proceed. Fair call—if the numbers don’t work for you, they don’t work.

We don’t like surprises either.

From our review, the photos provided showed roughly one cubic yard of waste — and you even went above and prepaid for two, which was thoughtful and appreciated. However, upon arrival, our waste collection team discovered a scene quite different from the photos — an actual volume closer to six or more cubic yards. Believe me, no one enjoys that kind of surprise. It complicates the operation, the logistics, and, inevitably, the perception of fairness.

Our crew offered to complete the full clearance at the adjusted rate, in line with industry standards and environmental regulations. You chose not to proceed — and that’s perfectly your right. Still, your feedback is invaluable, and we’ve already reinforced better pre-collection verification procedures to prevent similar misunderstandings.
