I took a policy with Big warranties in 2018. I never made a claim. Now I tried to make a claim but they told me that I need to make any claim with our sister company which is called ROW. I tired to make a claim with Row. On Row website it said you can only do it online and Row doesn't give any chance to talk on the phone. I am sure everyone understand how frustrating is that when you can't can't an answer when looking for help and your without a washing machine.
I call back Big Warranties to tell them that I am not having any help.
I explain to them that my money goes to to you Big Warranties and as such it's you are the responsible to fix the problem. They told me yes we get your money but you still need to go to ROW. I SAID TO MYSELF LET'S CHECK WHAT IHAVE SIGNED FOR FIRST.
So I made a phone call to Big Warranties and requested a copy of my policy document by email (by the WAY the phone call was recorded as I requested).
I received an email telling me that they can't send it. They told that they will send me a copy now they are telling they can't.
I need to add more to this. When I asked the lady on the phone her name she refused and said ask for customer services ( I never met someone with the name CUSTOMER SERVICES HA HA HA HA

Didn’t realise I had to pay the remainder of the years fee and excess. This ended up costing over £125! Not great when your fridge has already broken down. Stick with a company who doesn’t require excess and read the small print.

The vast majority of reviews on this and all platforms that are positive are from users who seemingly haven't actually tried to make a claim whereas many negative reviews revolve around those making claims. Please bear this in mind when considering them as a company with which at some point you may need to make a claim.
Row "covered" me for a phone which was purchased in 2019 from which the IMEI number shows when the phone was purchased.
After requesting a claim to repair the phone's screen I was declined as the insurance was "not valid" due to the age of the phone.
I fully expect the policy to be refunded due to there being no risk of costs incurred by Row insurance given they were never going to undertake a claim on the phone at any point during the 12 months.
Update: It's now been a few weeks since writing this review and unsurprisingly, they haven't offered a full or partial refund due to no service actually being undertaken/ no risk to them being present.
If these details were not requested and checked when undertaking the policy, this seems a very underhanded method for row to take money on invalid devices from which they would hope not to have to see a claim put in. Thus making money from an invalid device they would never cover.

Update: Despite putting my customer reference number (above) Row "asked for more information". Unfortunately for them I've provided it (again) so no reporting this review as "not a genuine experience" guys. Nice try though. I have policy documents to send just in case you try that method though. Good luck :)
