Fantastic quality and amazing craftsmanship! We searched for ages to find a solid walnut bed and finally found what we were looking for at Riverwood. Jim said it would take 8 weeks to make and it was finished exactly on schedule. They arranged for it to be delivered and it took me approx an hour to construct it. The quality of the product is outstanding and you can tell that they really take pride in their work by the way it has been made. I would wholeheartedly recommend this company!

Riverwood beds are solid. Incredibly well made and look fantastic. The service offered by Jim is second to none. It seems as if there is nothing he wouldn’t do to help. A really comfortable bed.

We are seriously in love with our bed. We have just taken delivery of our bespoke bed. Sure we had to wait a while but we consider that quite normal when something you cannot buy in the high street is being made for you, that's bespoke isn't it? Jim was always available for an update when we needed one and kept in touch via email. The delivery was arranged and on time. The bed was easy to assemble. Our's was the Braemar Kingsize in Oak. Top quality workmanship with quality materials, well worth the wait. Thank you Jim and all at Riverwood

We ordered a Windermere Kingsize bed from Jim at Riverwood beds after two beds ordered from a web retailer supplying chinese made oak beds managed to deliver two that were broken in transit. Also these beds were not solid oak as decribed and had metal rails with plastic fixings for the slats as well as a metal foot supporting the central support metal beam. Not what we ordered or were expecting.

Jim was able to step in and speedily construct a Kingsize Widermere bed. It is 100% solid oak with sturdy pine slats and was easy for two people to assemble with the parts provided. It is beautifully finished and it looks great in our bedroom and I expect it will last several lifetimes!

We found dealing with Jim straightforward and I if you are looking for a hand made solid oak bed that looks the business and will last, buy one from Riverwood beds.

Iv had nothing but problems trying to get things fixed with the bed and mattress i ordered from riverwood.

Firstly it took around two and a half months for the bed to get hear and only when i said "Fine just refund me the money and ill go else where" was it finally delivered to me.

But now iv got a problem with the mattress, i contacted riverwood 4 months ago and still nothing, iv had to keep calling them over and over only to be brushed aside every-time with the (Im not in the office, i don't have my laptop with me, im waiting for a email from the mattress supplier)

3 weeks ago a Homeserv guy was finally sent around to check the mattress and said straight away the mattress is faulty and since then iv still had no word from riverwood.

I don't see why i should have to keep chasing jim/riverwood to sort this problem out.

Im now at the point where ill be opening a small claims court case against riverwood to get this issue sorted.

I don't want a replacement mattress now as if i get another issue with it ill have to go through all this messing around again.

If i had known id be messed around like this i would have never ordered the bed and mattress.

Take note anyone who is thinking of ordering a bed from riverwood, if you have any issues with your order you will be on your own as jim/riverwood beds won't lift a finger to help you out......

First bed I bought Jim delivered it and built it while he was here. So impressed that we bought a second one when Shuna needed a replacement. Easy to build with two people. Then Lewis decided that he needed a new bed. So that's three beds from Riverwood and we are completely satisfied with all of them.

Bought bed from website with mattress. Jim then delivered it from his workshop to Staffordshire Moorlands and assembled it on his own. Bed is amazing never slept so well. Really recommend the quality of his products and the amazing service offered before sale and after sale. Buy from this man his work is of the highest caliber a really honest gentleman.

Certainly worth waiting those 4 or weeks for the bed to arrive. Really well made, so sturdy, so comfortable too -feel it's going to last a lifetime. Have no hesitation in awarding a 5 Star accolade not only to the bed but to the excellent service provided by Jim Macmillan.

We bought a king size oak bed frame expecting quality and wasn't disappointed. 5 years later the frame is still exactly the same as when we bought it. There are no lose joints, dowels twisting or colour fade. And there's not a hint of noise from even the smallest movement when you sit or lie down. Jim is a great guy to deal with and I would highly recommend you check out Riverwood beds if you want bespoke craftsmanship reasonably priced!

I was looking for a quality bed at a fair price, but couldn't find what I was looking for. I persevered, and, happily, eventually found Riverwood beds. Not only was Jim happy to modify the design to what I wanted, but, when it arrived, I found the quality to be superb.

Excellent workmanship and beautiful furniture. It was a pleasure to deal with Jim who made a bespoke king size bed frame for me in the most beautiful solid oak.

We bought a bed a few years ago. It has been used regularly and still looks brand new. The quality is excellent. Ordering ,delivery, and follow up was first class .We were contacted a few times to check that everything was OK.
We are not in the market for another bed .If ever we need another bed we would certainly buy from this company

Extremely happy with the bed. Well worth the small extra time wait. Possibly should have given 5*s. Very strong base & matress is quite firm, which being over 30 stone is handy. I purchased my bed on 7/10/17 & Jim delivered by himself on 5/12/17. Was over the moon. A double lomond oak base & a double majestyk matress with a medium firm rating. Jim was pretty good. He built the bed up in my bed room in the flat really well. Top floor flat. £55 I think the delivery price is for East Kilbride. Warehouse is a bit out the way. If possible drive through to warehouse. There is a car park, otherwise from East Kilbride area be prepared to bring sandwhiches. lol. Bed was built up on delivery day, within 10 mins. Delivery time took a bit longer than Jim had anticipated, but was nearing christmas when ordered. Took 8 weeks & 3 days from ordering, baring in mind I had ordered on a saturday. Not too bad. Was fairly happy after Jim saying probably 4 weeks or think it was possibly 3-4 weeks he had anticipated. Does say 4-6 weeks on website, which wasn't too bad considering time of year. If obese he can strengthen the base or build up the base as he called it, putting in extra slats & strengthening the bed. For an extra £100. Which is fantastic. When comparing to bigger chains like Forrest. Who were much more expensive for the bed(looking at £2,000 at least) & there isn't the same quality with the beds in Forrest. Being over 30 stone this seems to be the only option in Scotland. Which I was surprised at. There are bed companies down in London which cater for obese people, but Riverwood are on the outskirts of Glasgow, which means you can get a look at the base & matress. Plus those companies down in London ok are steel bases, & are well over a grand once you add in the matress. Don't worry about the wooden slats, if strengthened seem to be pretty strong. I was really worried. Having spoken to my family, but it's solid oak. Riverwoods beds are very strong and sturdy. Was 30 stone plus, and these beds are more than strong enough to take the weight. Would be more likely to go through the floor bords at 50 odd stone. lol. The Lomomnd oak bed is a cracker, there are usualy sales on a different times of the year too. Jim is more than fair too on price etc.

Actually bought two beds from Riverwood, one King Size, one double.
They're lovely pieces of furniture which is just a well as they're so well made I expect to have them for the next 30 years.
I would say that they could be classed as heirloom pieces. They'll certainly outlast me.

We bought a Riverwood sleigh bed three years ago and it’s absolutely solid. You get used to creaks and rattles with mass-produced beds that slowly deteriorate over the years. The Riverwood bed is just blissfully silent. It’s easy to dismantle to move if required (we’ve moved ours twice). The bed looks fantastic, finished to the highest standards in a timeless design that will still look good, and still be absolutely rock-solid and a pleasure to own, in fifty years. Not cheap but fantastic value because we will never want to buy another bed.

The best beds our family have ever slept in along with the memory foam mattresses. Jim is just the nicest most helpful guy. Very much an A* company and product... a rare find in today’s world. Thanks to Jim and the team 👍🏼
