Boiler up and running same day

This morning my boiler failed and I claimed on my insurance. Richard the engineer from Rightgas arrived this afternoon and immediately identified the fault. He had the required valve motor in his van and replaced the faulty one. Boiler worked straightaway.
Richard is a very pleasant engineer and answered my questions. He is efficient and professional. Many thanks Richard.

Great work

I had the boiler insurance and they referred the first engineer to come and he only spent 10mins and said need to replace a few parts without attempting to fix the issues. And they had confusions with the insurer and wasted a few days. Insurer then referred RightGas. Mario came and inspected the boiler very carefully and attempted to fix it, but unfortunately it did not work. He knew that we needed this urgently fixed because of young children & babies at home. He contacted office immediately afterward and I got some clarity later in the afternoon around when the part will arrive and it would be fixed. It was not great to wait, but it's not their faults. The communication has been clear thorough. Mario also help reset the heater and underfloor heating to make sure everything works before leaving. I would recommend strongly Mario if any issues with boiler. Very impressive.

Fantastic

Fantastic, from the office to George the engineer who came out three times at gone 7pm as they new I had a young family, just brilliant next day each time and did what it took to get it working again. I am very greatful them. So thank you

Let down again

Have Homeserve Cover for my boiler. Rightgas Group were due to come in December for a health check and service. They cancelled the morning of the appointment due to "cold weather" image that in December. Before the next appointment in middle of January a fault appeared on my Boiler because of this our boiler failed the health check and our cover with Homeserve was stopped. We then had to fix the fault at our own cost because RightGas group had cancelled the December appointment. We then contacted Homeserve and rearranged another appointment for Rightgas group to do a boiler service on Monday 27th February. AGAIN they have cancelled the appointment. So have no faith in this company

Rightgas work for Homeserve between the…

Rightgas work for Homeserve between the two of them. They are the two biggest cowboy outfits I’ve ever had to deal with.

I’ve had ongoing issues with my boiler since the 22nd of December, Rightgas attended on the 27th of December. They fix the leak didn’t fix the part that was broken on the boiler. The engineer told me it was a loose connection but after an hour it broke again. I contacted Homeserve who my policy is with the contract out to Rightgas another attended on the 16th of January and said the original engineer had made an error and should’ve automatically ordered a new circuit board, he said that he would do this and return within 2 to 3 working days.

After many failed attempts as the engineer never arrived I had an appointment booked for between 8 am and 10 pm on the 10th of February. The engineer never arrived after speaking to Rightgas . They told me the engineer was far away and would not get to me until late afternoon, I told them they would have to cancel and I had to contact Homeserve again

I spoke to Homeserve and they booked an engineer to come on the 11th of February, I specifically said to Homeserve are you sure Rightgas will attend on a Saturday as Rightgas told me they do not work weekends, Homeserve told me they have reserved appointments and only Homeserve can book them. Homeserve said they would call me within four hours that was at 10 am on the 10th of February to confirm a rough ETA for Rightgas , I was never contacted by Homeserve however at 4:30 pm Rightgas call me to tell me the engineer would not be attending the appointment as he did not work on the weekend .

I contacted Homeserve and they said that they had arranged with Rightgas for the engineer to drop the parts for the engineer that was booked for today. I didn’t believe them so I phoned Rightgas and again they told me that they were not attending my property. I mean, it’s only been since the 16th of January they’ve had the parts to fit. But they have failed to attend appointment 5 occasion, they told me they would not be attending on the 11th of February.

My contract is with Homeserve, however, they contracts the work out to Rightgas and Rightgas just tell lies, they get paid by Homeserve and Homeserve should have some power over them if they are using them as a contractor, if they promised the customer that they will be a first visit, they should attend as a first visit and not let the engineer decide where to go first, and if an engineer has parts on his van that I have paid for through my contract with Homeserve, that engineer does not work on the weekends, Homeserve tell me they’ve told Rightgas , they have to arrange for somebody to collect the parts from the engineer said that they would attend my property.

But no Rightgas seem to totally ignore the request from Homeserve, and again, for the sixth time have failed to attend my property. I have had no heating since the 22nd of December, but Rightgas have the parts to fit since the 16th of January.

Would seem that both Homeserve and Rightgas can’t talk to each other and Homeserve have no control over Rightgas , even though they’re paying them. So both outfits are just Cowboys.

Do you not get a contract with Homeserve ? If you have boiler problems , they do not have their own engineers that work on boilers , even though they advertise that they do . They subcontract out to companies like Rightgas . But Rightgas can’t get it right, it’s irony in their name!

Both outfits and needs to be steered clear of that off. I’ll take your money and then just lie to you all the time.

They wouldn’t even get one star, but that’s the minimum you can give.

Dave from RightGas was a very dedicated…

Dave from RightGas was a very dedicated engineer. After sometime and perseverance he manged to solve an explosive ignition problem on my promax boiler that nobody else could fix. the first enigineer botched it with some insulation tape that lasted 7 days. Dave set about sorting the igniters and connections to get it working normally only to finsd a failure weeks later. working with the manufactures he persisted in identifying the problem which was a hidden problem that the manufacturers never brought forward until his insistence and much head scratching. He eventually got somebody qualified at the manufactures to say that it was a known problem and certain parts not mentioned were required. He was not amused. that they never elicited to this information in the first place as it would have saved much time and a very cold weekend. Thanks Dave.
