The way Via does surge pricing, it's almost as bad as Uber and Lyft, but it can't even drop me off at my door. It doesn't offer ANY discounts, or special deals. I've noticed that often the single ri... See more

Share and save a few bucks

Worth sharing a car with others to save a few dollars. Most drivers are polite and drive a spacious, comfortable SUV. Not so great squeezing 3 into the back seat of sedans.

This service has made travel by car…

This service has made travel by car affordable for me just as I begin to find subway stairs too much. It usually lands me very close to my actual destination. The drivers are great, often better and more knowledgeable than regular cabbies. BUT the app is a little confusing and sometimes leaves me on the wrong corner or side of the street. Also sometimes I have to run to get to the meeting place in time. Maybe you should have a way to adjust for an elderly person’s walking sperd.

Drivers are very nice. Via had to improve billing

Drivers are very nice. Mostly reliable pickup.

Once in awhile it is impossible to be picked up at location due to police or construction. Also I have ordered a ride, been told they cannot locate one, then have been charged anyway. The only reason the charge did not comp loo ete was because my card has fraud alert on it. Now I have to use another card with Via.

Pros and cons

The low price of via is what makes it stand out above the other car services, though the downside is that the rides can at times take significantly longer. This rarely happens, which makes via my go to car service.

A mostly good experience

A mostly good experience, however the quality of drivers ranges greatly. In many cases, the drivers appear inexperienced/fearful of driving in NYC, and actually drive too slowly/stop at green lights!

Also: Their estimated time of arrival is very inconsistent. There are times where it will says 10 minutes for almost 10 minutes, and others where it will jump 4-6 minutes in a heartbeat.

A good basic service

A good basic service. Generally faster (both to get a car, and en route) than other pooled services such as UberPool because they pretty much stick to defined routes, and value is generally very good.

Great service

The drivers are (usually) friendly, the service is prompt and the price is right. Plus, the customer service will respond to the occasional comments I have. I couldn't be happier.

Overall, good experience. Sometimes the predicted ride times don't align with what actually happens.
