Contacted me over a job they had posted…
Contacted me over a job they had posted that I replied to.
The woman was nice however the conversation was a waste of time and great example of how these companies have convoluted the hiring process.
First she didn't have payrate information for the location I had applied to. Then when I found it and told her the minimum I would accept she began to back peddle and suggest I could go back onto their site and apply for another role.
Why would I need to do that if I'm currently speaking to a recruiter?
Why contact someone and not have critical details you know someone would need to make an educated decision?
If you want someone that knows what they're talking about you're gonna have to pay more than 15$/hr in any location in America.
If you want kids that are going to push the pavement and not generate any leads because homeowners don't trust them then you get what you pay for.
I hope you get people involved in the hiring process that have some logic.
The lady really was an angel though.
Like others here… $$$$$$$$$$
Like others here, these people seem like scam artists. Got a quote to replace two doors (Front entry and patio door) and two windows for $30K. Their clientele must be millionaires.
$$$$$$$$
Well, a couple years ago we decided to replace our 9 foot sliding patio door. We called Renewal by Andersen and got a bid of $16000. That was way too much and they said they couldn't even get to it for ten months. We have replaced our patio door with another company for one third the price of Andersen. PS I am guessing on the exact date but not one the cost of the renewal.

Does my house look "too poor" for Renewals by Andersen to bother?
Let me preface this review by saying that once upon a time, years ago, I had this company out to give me a quote to replace all my windows and doors. Very nice salesperson came to the house and answered all my questions. At the time I could not afford the work, so nothing came of it.
Now that I'm ready to move forward with renovations, I'm shopping around. I had such a good experience that I decided to offer them the chance to provide a proposal.
Made the appointment online. They called to confirm details and didn't seem to have my address, which I clearly entered on the online form. No big deal. Next they texted to cancel the appointment because I had mentioned to them that I qualified for a matching grant and they "don't work with government programs". (The program matches what I spend.) I called them back and told them I am looking for a proposal at this time and if I have to pay out of pocket, I would.
They agreed to come out, but before they would reschedule my appointment, I had to send them pictures of my doors. If they came out to give a proposal, they would be able to see, right? But whatever. Weird, but ok. Sent the pictures.
Today they call me to say that the damage shown on the pictures would need to be repaired prior to them coming out to give me a quote. (wood rot throughout the frame) Wait, what? If I'm looking for door REPLACEMENT, the company should be able to replace the frame if needed, no? I asked that question to the representative and she proceeded to repeat the exact same sentence 4 times: "the damage shown on the pictures would need to be repaired first."
The frame is NOT repairable. It MUST be replaced. Wouldn't a company who offers replacement windows and doors be competent enough to replace the frame to which their brand new doors will be installed? If they think it can be repaired, what exactly do they want me to repair? The representative could not answer me. I requested a call back from someone who COULD explain to me why they can't replace the frame.
I am RENOVATING the house. Certain portions of it will need to be replaced. If you can't do the work, at least be able to explain to the potential customer.
Not sure what the thought process is here. Is it too much work for this company? Maybe that's it. Maybe I'm "too poor" for their prices? I mean, if I qualified for a grant from the state of Florida, I must be "too poor" to afford their services, right? They just want the "easy" jobs. If you are looking for real help, you won't find it at Renewals by Andersen.
IF they bother to call me back, I'll update this review.
No Show
After many, many phone calls to set up an appointment and after canceling other appointments they never showed up. Had to call them. They said no supervisor was available. Nice of them to have us change all our other appointments for nothing. Lousy service.
cheap ended up being very expensive
This people were the nicest till they made sure I used their services, afterwards they was no accountability for their product, work was never finished and had to hire a different firm to finish their job.
Renewal by Andersen: a bit pricey for windows that won't close/lock

I understand that if you live in a condo the board chooses. If you have to get their windows just be ready for issues.
I paid $22742 for the 10 windows that were required in my building. That's $2274/window. They chose the more expensive ones. I signed the contract and accepted financing in 2021. Now, in 2024 I can't close the double hung windows or lock them. This is a problem during the winter since I basically have a gap at the top. I have to tape over the windows.
Others in my building have the same problems. I thought it was just mine. When I call them they send out a big tall man with tools. The latest visit was 8/16/2024. He uses tools in the lock and climbs to the top and really pushes up with all his strength and says "See it's easy." I'm 60 and not as tall or strong. Then he says I have to keep them closed for 2 weeks (fine during the winter) But he says this to my face when during hot weather. I reply back to him..so you want me to keep all these windows closed for 2 weeks when it's 95 degrees. Somehow I thought paying over 22k would make these windows easier, not a source of suffering. I shouldn't have to use tools, climb ladders, and start a weight lifting regime in order to close my windows. In 2024 I still can't close and lock my 10 windows that put me back $ 22742.
The installation was a bit of a nightmare. They gauged out the walls in the common hall, my hall, and tossed my cats toy out into the street from my 2nd floor window opening.
(FYI: Their financing company was honest and above board.)
NOT WHAT THEY SAY
I am glad they did someone's window correctly. I was suppose to have a full screen but haven't received it yet. I was told to leave the window closed for 72 hours which I did. That was about a month ago. When I opened it, the window slid very hard up and down. I can't lock the window because the locks don't line up. Not a happy customer at all.
Horrible
Horrible. Set up appointment just want you to sign contract. No specifics to look over. Don’t get back to you with answers to questions. May be good windows but the process is not transparent. Waste a lot of your time. Found small company, got the Andersen patio door I wanted. Better price and installation time. Process was a breeze. Renewal by Andersen is a waste of time. They lost a $14,000.00 guaranteed sale. Jerks.

I would not have anyone from this…
I would not have anyone from this company come to your residence. I have never had a worse experience with outside sales people than this. Couldn’t get any pricing because the guy (Zach) was more interested in asking me unrelated questions about anything except windows. I finally asked him to leave when I realized this was going to be a long wait for nothing. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.
Too busy to take care of incomplete installs.
We love our windows by Renewal By Andersen, but the installation is still incomplete. The original guy did incorrect measurements for our hurricane shutters back in February 2024. The installers who came to install the windows failed to tell us they didn't have the hurricane shutters at that time, but someone would be out as they saw it was on the order. We finally had a different install team come back out weeks later to install the hurricane shutters. At this time they informed us the original guy didn't measure the windows correctly, and they didn't have enough shutters for all of our windows we paid for. Months later we can't get a straight answer from anyone on why we still only have half our hurricane shutters. Also, they don't return phone calls when they tell you they will get back with you the same day. The last point I'll share is we were told "our financing would not start until all the shutters were installed". This was a lie, because our financing started five months ago and to date we only have half the hurricane shutters.
Disappointed in Renewal by Andersen…
Disappointed in Renewal by Andersen Window.
We had a sales Rep from renewal by Andersen come out 7/7/22. We decided to have 10 window & a patio door installed for over $37,000.00
After we signed the contract a couple project managers stopped by & told us how happy we will be with these windows. They are energy efficient and will really cut out the noise from outside.
Oct. 4, 2022 they installed 3 windows. They thought the frames were off so they went back to look at the other window frames. They decided they were correct so they installed the rest of the windows Oct. 12, 2022. These windows felt cold and are definitely not sound proof. We can hear everything that is going on outside.
Starting in November when it was very cold out these windows had condensation on the outer frames and on the woodwork. After several contacts with the service department & several service people coming out they finally figured out that the windows where installed incorrectly. They are not suppose to have condensation on the outer frame & on the woodwork. Of course they talked about the humidity in the house.
April 24th & 25th, 2023 They came and reinstalled all the window & moved them in 3/4 of an inch. They also installed the patio door at this time. I didn't want it because of all the problems I was having with the other windows, but they said they could not refund me the money that I paid if I didn't have it installed. They promised me I would not have any problems with the patio door.
This still didn't make a difference in the noise outside or how cold they are. They tried to tell us that it is because of the house. It is an older home built 1998. I told them that we will see what happens with these windows when it gets really cold out. In the meantime I had talked to one Bldg Inspector & sent him pictures & he told me typically patio doors aren't raised up like ours is. Another Bldg inspector came out to the house. He happened to work for Renewal by Andersen in the past. He said as far as the Building permit Renewal by Andersen installed the windows properly. He definitely saw our concerns. We talked about the humidity of which we have it down to 29% now as Renewal by Andersen had suggested to us. We also had the energy audit by excel come out & he did the infrared/thermal image camera. The gentlemen that came out said the windows were leaking a little were composite meets the wood sill. He could feel the draft & air leak. The patio door he said adjust the wheels at bottom to lower & plumb patio door for a better seal. We then had a cold snap & the windows were doing the same with moisture on the frame & on the wood. The patio door was the worst. It was frozen shut & there is a hole on the bottom right where the seal doesn't go all the way to the bottom. At one point they sent out a service guy who dropped the patio door down but did nothing about the seal. I again called the service dept & they sent out the service manager. We went from window to window & he wrote everything down. They sent two guys out who then raised the patio door, put a piece of wood over the hole in the right corner. They took the window trim out of 3 windows & said that they are adequately insulated. They had an excuse for the infrared red info, said the humidity needs to be 25% then he said 20%. I told him that is not healthy for not only us but for the house. He said well people go to Arizona because it is so dry. He then said the problem is the atmosphere. I told him I do not want this closed because next winter if the patio door is frozen shut or the moisture is all over the bottom woodwork, I want them to fix it. He said they would.
This has been the worst experience & I have notes of every time they were called, the times that they came out, names of every person from Renewal by Andersen that came out & I have tons of pictures. What bothers me is they first said, humidity, 29%, then 25% now 20%, it is the house because it is an older home, & now they are saying it is the atmosphere. Not once did they ever say that possible there is something wrong with the windows. One service guy did tell me that they once did have a bad batch of windows. I am so disappointed that I spent over $37,000.00 for worst windows than what we had. I am really concern when this winter comes and there is a cold snap how these windows & patio doors will perform and if they will continue to have moisture on the woodwork. My hope is they will stand up to their word & come & fix the windows & patio door. Their advertisement on TV is: "if there is ever an issue, we take full responsibility for it
I called to get a scheduled quote for…windows replacements
I called to get a scheduled quote for replacement windows. All I can say is that this company conveys an attitude of arrogance in its presales screening. They admit that their prices will be higher than most others. I was willing to continue but it was as if the rep felt I wasn't the kind of customer they were looking for. I finally said I was sorry for even calling. This was certainly not a way to get new customers.

They keep sending me spam e-mails almost daily. Absolute trash company. Impossible to block it too.
inferior product anderson series 400 replacement
In March 2024 I entered into a $26,000 contract with Home Depot for window replacement and paid a deposit of $6,200 after being shown photos of Anderson Windows series 400 from the Home Depot website. On 6/19/24 two Home Depot employees attempted to install the windows. After removing a window they discovered the new windows were defective, having a slight tilt which led to a gap on one side of the window and an inability to open the other. They installed one new window temporarily and said they would reorder. Upon seeing the new window, I was disappointed with the amount of trim installed, which reduces the glass surface area. This was not discussed with me at the time of contract signing. I connected with Paul Behrendt on 6/24/24 to express my objections to the window via phone but he was not able to address my concerns with the trim. I sent a follow-up email the same day, asking Paul to cancel the reorder and stated I would not be able to accept the windows. The same day I received a reply from Paul stating, "Good luck with however this turns out." On 6/25/24 I received an email from Brandon Wallace, Sales Manager, stating that I would not be able to change the windows from those on my contract, and I was told I was getting what Paul had shown me and "what I signed up for." I sent these messages to Home Depot Corporate and continued to speak with my local store via phone to try to resolve the issue. We discussed someone coming to look at the window in-person. I followed up on 7/3/24 to get this scheduled and did not hear back. I've not been presented any choices for reducing trim, however they did offer to sell me the original defective windows for $11,000 so I could recoup my money by reselling them. I am not getting the windows as shown to me at the time of contract signing, and Home Depot failed to perform quality control checks. They have been unable to offer an acceptable resolution and I ask that my contract be terminated and I be refunded $6,200 deposit.

I wish I had seen all these terrible…
I wish I had seen all these terrible reviews before I called Renewal By Andersen. It’s all true. The reps are very cordial, but they stay for 3 plus hours and their contracts are predatory. The reps made me verbal promises about my order that were not guaranteed in writing and therefore did not happen.
I cancelled my order a few days after the second rep visited me for another 3 hours and measured everything again (conflicting measurements from the first guy). I was told by second rep that the window type I wanted and was promised was not available to me (by law!?) and I would have to order a more expensive window type. I complained to first rep about this and he said the second rep was wrong. But again, nothing in writing. Now that I’ve cancelled my order they want to charge me $17,000 for the cancellation. I am beyond frustrated.
