Second time selling to recell.io, great place to sell!!

This was my very first time using recell to sell a phone and I have to admit i was a little nervous when deciding to sell to them. I am glad I did! The sale was really easy!!!

Recell actually paid me MORE than the amount quoted on the site because there was a discrepancy in my favor. They did not need to do this! I wouldn’t have ever known! This shows honesty and integrity and I will use them again!

Top notch service!!!!!!!!! We were really on edge sending in 2k in equipment to a place we were 2k miles from. Found Recellio.com on SellCell.com. These guys are Professional!!!!!!! Honored price match without a second guess. I read some reviews that stated that Recellio.com bait and switched them… From personal experience as I write this review these guys wouldn’t do that!!!!!!! Not only have we found them to be honest we find the staff to be genuinely nice helpful folks!!!!!! They pick up their phones religiously!!!!!!! Try calling any of their so called competition!!!! I Bet 100 bucks they won’t even return your call!!!! We know from experience!!!! (Staff is friendly) and (Helpful) from start to finish!!!!!! Recellio.com is the standard for selling your equipment back!!!!!! This is not a paid review or anyone who knows the staff at Recellio.com in any fashion!!!!! Review is based solely on experience!!!! This company offered the top price for an IPhone 8 among numerous buyback sites on a comparison website. The phone was in near perfect condition (no visible scratches anywhere - it was protected in a case the entire time we owned it.) When Recell.io received the device, they contacted me with a "revised" quote - a 40% reduction below the original offer. The claimed reason was "moderate wear on the back and moderate wear on the screen" (I see from other reviews they have done this to others as well). When I declined their lowball offer, they replied saying that they'd checked again, still found the problem but would offer me an additional $10 for my trouble. I rejected the revised offer and demanded they return the device ASAP.

Upon receipt, I confirmed what I knew all along - that there was no visible wear anywhere on the device. I submitted a new offer to a different company which paid slightly less than Recell's original offer, but raised no concerns about the imaginary wear.

Beware of this company. It would appear that they engage in the practice of offering high payments to attract offers, but then lowball people once they have your device. The hope, I assume, is that most people don't want to hassle with getting the phone back and selling it again - thus will accept their lowball. My recommendation is, just avoid them.

I have used them a total of three times. First, their site doesn't allow you to resell multiple phones in one shot like many of the others. This could save them $ on shipping costs. Second, it takes them a long time to process. I've used them in January and I was thinking Covid 19 was limiting their staff. Here we are in May and it's taking just as long. I'm still waiting on a response. I've used other resell places and it averages about a week. Unfortunately, I can't recommend them due to the slow processing time.

**UPDATE** 7/12/21. I was asked to be verified by ReCell. I wasn’t going to do this, but since they are challenging the rating here we go. There might be some truth to the bait and switch but I think it’s their stringent inspection. All of this could be avoided if they let the public know HOW they inspect it. To my eye, the phone appears really good regardless if there is no dents, chips, etc…but when they inspect it under their magic light and video it, it makes your phone look like it’s been dragged across and unpaved road. Also, the response for the delay is “check your junk email” which I did and there was no email. This happened twice, so this means they have a crap email system. I’ve tried other resellers and never had problems receiving email from them. Instead I waited weeks until I reached out to them. I would use caution as they do have questionable practices. Just be prepared to get requoted.

I believe this company to be a bait and switch type company. They told me they would give me $230 for my phone and then only offered me $100 for it when I sent it in. When I refused, they offered me more money, which I also refused. I believe this is what they do to people, hoping people get frustrated and just accept what they offer so they don't have to go through any more aggravation. My phone was in excellent condition but I listed it with them as good since I had had it for some time. They found all these things wrong with it that were not true. Complete scam.

Update: Company reached out to Trust Pilot to say I was never a customer. I sent Trust Pilot documentation proving otherwise. That alone is a disreputable thing to do. I asked for my phone to be returned and when it was returned, the issue they claimed to have with the volume did not exist, nor did it when I sent the phone in. They sent me a video trying to show the "problem" but it had to be totally fabricated since the problem does not exist. I have since resold the phone privately and the buyer is extremely happy with the phone and the great condition it is in. The phone works perfectly.
