Real Plans Reviews 

We've been clients of Real Plans for years. I love the extensive recipes covering many different diet options, the auto-fill options to plan the week for you if you want, the option to change how many people you cook for or add leftovers to up the portions in a recipe, and the shopping list generator that remembers which stores we buy different items from. However, last year and this year, the website and app have been down or glitching more and more to the point where it's been a real hinderance, like being at the grocery store and suddenly not being able to access our grocery list in the app since it's down, or manually importing a recipe and it not saving and no longer having access to your meal plan as you're making it. I reached out to Real Plans once last year when it was down for a couple of days, not hours, and they never replied. This makes it especially difficult as a busy mom who doesn't have tons of time to spend trouble shooting or waiting for the website and app to come back online. So, while I love many things about this product, the amount of outages rendering us unable to use it to either make our plan or do our shopping based on our plan has been really disappointing, as has their lack of response to any queries about it, and it seems to be happening more and more. Last week it was down, so I wasn't able to meal plan and now today, it was working as I was manually importing some new recipes, but then it glitched and they didn't save, and then the site stopped working again, so I'm unable to finish my plan, access what's been done thus far and my grocery list and now have to redo what I've done and be plan a different way again this week. I understand that outages happen sometimes, but for the annual fee they're charging, this shouldn't be happening again and again, as I'm now paying for a product that I often can't use when I need it.

This app has been a life saver! The choices of plans to choose from that are still customizable to my needs and needs of my husband are great!!! The list that I can make by checking off things I already have makes shopping super easy!! And the recipes are spot on!!

Mostly very positive; sometimes auto populated weekly menus have the tendency to clump foods together— like four kinds of stew in one week. So you replace three of them with other things for variety.

Refuses to refund or pro-rate subscriptions even on the day of renewal. Shady practice. If the product was so good, they wouldn't behave this way. Think twice before using this expensive ($19/month) product as you'll likely be paying more than you planned.

The product itself worked well, though the amount of recipes is incredibly limited unless, of course, you pay twice as much per month to have access to a recipe pack. This is a $2.99-quality service relying on forced renewals of $19 for profits

Real Plans was an absolute life saver as I started an elimination diet and reintroductions. It took the planning and guesswork out of the process for me. I love that I can specify what ingredients I want or don't want within specific diets and the plans are very easy to follow.

Meh. Super expensive for what the app provides.

I found the lowest-tier professional plan too expensive for 1-2 clients. It just didn’t make sense for me, especially when the recipes didn’t show much variation when certain dietary filters, like Paleo, were applied. A client also told me she was having trouble with the shopping list feature in the app. Great idea overall, but I think execution could be improved, along with affordability for just-starting-out professionals.

I like the idea of Real Plans but it is not the most intuitive site. I have only begun using it and see it will take some time to figure it out. Even the tutorial video doesn't quite do it. But I will persevere!

waste of money. not user friendly

Mixed experience. Really like the ease of scheduling meals and shopping list function. But there aren’t enough good recipes, and the excluding ingredients function is either wonky or too complicated, so recipes are showing up with ingredients I thought I had excluded.

I love the planning tool and whole 30 guidance. My only wish was there was more diversity in flavor profiles. I found a lot of the same flavors so I struggled to get a lot of variety. Still found a few favorites. Korean beef skewers are a staple in my rotation now along with the butternut squash hash.

Overall, I think you have hit the nail on the head - meaning - you're really covering the basic aspects of following the Whole30 in real life. Very well laid out and planned, obviously by people who have gone through this. I'm still early so I need more time to see and experience it in full but so far, I say, job well done.

It was too overwhelming for me. I don’t have a lot of time to figure out the app. When I thought I was all set, I couldn’t find what I had arranged. I’m sure there’s a learning curve. Planning as I have the past 30 years will have to continue.

The service was great. I used one recipe and it was delicious. There were a few recipes that had non compliant ingredients for Whole30. And I ended up checking out the cookbooks and using that more so I didn’t see a point to continue using Real Plans.

I have enjoyed and used Real Plans in many ways throughout the years. For weight control, dietary restrictions, Whole30, and now sugar/carbohydrates control, the Real Plans met my needs with flexible, tasty meals.

It was hard to use. I have fodmap allergies and it was hard to find recipes without garlic or onions. Also when yo change the serving size the measurements inside the recipe don't change and it makes shopping difficult. I only used it for 2 weeks it was a waste of money.

Meal plans and recipes are delicious and easy to prepare. My only difficulty was time and costs.
